The first one was not stupid, it was a calculated move, serious and terrible. In essence, he called 911 with the intent to die, and got a cop to kill him which is a way for a suicidal person to go through with the act without having to actively kill oneself. Extremely sad for both him and that cop. The other 3? Yeah, pretty stupid calls IMO.

Police literally are paid to conduct a cursory investigation to discern what's happening at the location of a suspected incident, and to use their discression to assess the statements made by an individual. If anything, they get paid to ignore sarcasm, and they're wise to do so. Taking a statement like this guy's at face value makes their job easier. Not to mention, we saw that the guy actually wasn't being sarcastic at all, he was telling the truth about being high and then used "I was just being sarcastic" as a lazy cover story when he realized it was a mistake. The cops didn't do anything wrong in terms of their investigation. I can't speak to whether or not the arrest was valid since I don't know the cannabis laws for that area, but it seems like the charges stuck, so...

Especially for civilians that cant even afford a decent insurance plan. I was medically discharged from the Army and have lifelong Tricare coverage and still ended up having to pay over $1,000 for a 5 day stay at an inpatient mental health facility because I was feeling suicidal. That's just unacceptable to me when there are a lot of folks out there that are much worse off than myself and really have no affordable options.

Also, before 2024, police didn't had cameras or stuff to record miss conduct or police brutality, so police could actualy do whatever they wanted to do against minors or anyone for no reason and escape without charges. Police here is feared as getting robbed.

Years ago I had a small prepaid android with a touchscreen. Called the cops 17 times in my pocket. I assume it was a panic function where if you rapidly touch the screen it dials 911 for you. Anyway they called me back and I apologized. Kept the screen facing away from my leg from then in and it didn’t happen again, but man did that made me red as a tomato.

A customer I was helping was talking about blood pressures, and as a joke I told him mine was 11:08 AM. He jokingly spoke into his watch 'call 911'... 10 minutes later cops were there. we were both confused as heck. Ya...granted it's also not funny as if they didn't have the patience or one thing went wrong it could've ended like a lot of the swatting shootings you can find news of online. On top of that even if it was harmless for the most part it's still money and time wasted on a completely useless call (even if said call was accidental). It's a prime example of why people shouldn't keep their phones in their pockets when sitting/laying down and should just put them on a nearby table instead.

It is easy to dial emergency services as when your phone is locked and you attempt to use it, especially if it's in your pocket, just below the phone keys is an emergency call button that will call with the phone still being locked.

Crazy that all you need to do to get a cop to show up with gun drawn is say someone has a gun...literally 0 first-hand evidence of it. He was detained for suspicion of having drugs because he said he was "high as hell" .."sarcastically" And the cop said he didnt get paid to deal with sarcasm The police can take anything you say and use it against you So while being detained he refused to cooperate which made him resist being detained which is 1 charge in itself not to mention the weed / thc they found in the car so he was pretty dumb for calling the police in the first place especially if his camera for his breathalyzer was tampered with

One time I was at work and dialed 911 but then hungup before anyone answered remembering/realizing it wasn't an emergency why I was calling and to call non-emergency instead. A cop ended up showing up anyway about the call. I felt so bad to have wasted his time for nothing but explained to him it was me that called but realized my mistake and hung up. He agreed I didn't need to call 911 for it (might have been someone trespassing on property. I don't really remember though). Even though I wasted his time, I thought it was at least good to know they are on it if that really was an emergency like if I was being held at gunpoint, a cop would have still came to my rescue lol

ngl that second one was kind bs. The one things cops need to have is patience even if someone is in the wrong. Now it was edited and it could of went on longer than it seemed but cops need to learn how to communicate better. Sure they were in the right for the most part but people are gonna be nervous around cops especially when theyre being interrogated. Cops without patience always seem to be the worst ones though.

that's a dumbass statement, most states have qualified immunity for their cops, meaning they can wrongfully harm someone bad and they'll face no repercussions, ironically the states where cops can be arrested, for example Arizona.. have way lower police corruption and less cases of police brutality..

Oh Elijah, I've called the police on accident, too. Instead of saying that I helped two people end their earthly experiences, I just simply hung up. A patrol man came out and I explained that I was trying to call my sister (the truth) and the last 3 digits of her number was actually 911. To this day, I don't know why the first 4 digits didn't register.

I called 911 when i was 11 once because someone stole my bike. The lady laughed and transferred me to the local police department. All the horrible calls they get im sure that made her day.
Well walmart calls police daily over just 50cent bag of chips or 2 dollar sodas....you would be surprised how many walmarts have called 911 "regularly" over something that simple....and actually want the people arrested.

Police literally are paid to conduct a cursory investigation to discern what's happening at the location of a suspected incident, and to use their discression to assess the statements made by an individual. If anything, they get paid to ignore sarcasm, and they're wise to do so. Taking a statement like this guy's at face value makes their job easier. Not to mention, we saw that the guy actually wasn't being sarcastic at all, he was telling the truth about being high and then used "I was just being sarcastic" as a lazy cover story when he realized it was a mistake. The cops didn't do anything wrong in terms of their investigation. I can't speak to whether or not the arrest was valid since I don't know the cannabis laws for that area, but it seems like the charges stuck, so...

Especially for civilians that cant even afford a decent insurance plan. I was medically discharged from the Army and have lifelong Tricare coverage and still ended up having to pay over $1,000 for a 5 day stay at an inpatient mental health facility because I was feeling suicidal. That's just unacceptable to me when there are a lot of folks out there that are much worse off than myself and really have no affordable options.

You'd be surprised how many times my phone has attempted to call 911 on me. Fortunately it's often a situation where I notice and can deal with it quickly but man.
Years ago I had a small prepaid android with a touchscreen. Called the cops 17 times in my pocket. I assume it was a panic function where if you rapidly touch the screen it dials 911 for you. Anyway they called me back and I apologized. Kept the screen facing away from my leg from then in and it didn’t happen again, but man did that made me red as a tomato.
my phone does the same shit, im like how do i get this useless emergency call option off my phone? after it happened to me twice while at work i decided for now on my phone always remains off unless i plan on actively using it that way its impossible for my phone to but dial anything

It is easy to dial emergency services as when your phone is locked and you attempt to use it, especially if it's in your pocket, just below the phone keys is an emergency call button that will call with the phone still being locked.
the last one, I have almost done that with 911, i got lucky realized what my phone was about to do and immediate stopped it, since then when im on pc playing a game i keep the phone away from the p.c. luckily i didn't actually call it.

Crazy that all you need to do to get a cop to show up with gun drawn is say someone has a gun...literally 0 first-hand evidence of it. The first guy did it to himself but I can imagine how easy it would be to do this to someone you don't like...any confused, anxious person might reach in their pockets and end up being sentenced to death by an officer with no proof of a gun.

He was detained for suspicion of having drugs because he said he was "high as hell" .."sarcastically" And the cop said he didnt get paid to deal with sarcasm The police can take anything you say and use it against you So while being detained he refused to cooperate which made him resist being detained which is 1 charge in itself not to mention the weed / thc they found in the car so he was pretty dumb for calling the police in the first place especially if his camera for his breathalyzer was tampered with
One time I was at work and dialed 911 but then hungup before anyone answered remembering/realizing it wasn't an emergency why I was calling and to call non-emergency instead. A cop ended up showing up anyway about the call. I felt so bad to have wasted his time for nothing but explained to him it was me that called but realized my mistake and hung up. He agreed I didn't need to call 911 for it (might have been someone trespassing on property. I don't really remember though). Even though I wasted his time, I thought it was at least good to know they are on it if that really was an emergency like if I was being held at gunpoint, a cop would have still came to my rescue lol

ngl that second one was kind bs. The one things cops need to have is patience even if someone is in the wrong. Now it was edited and it could of went on longer than it seemed but cops need to learn how to communicate better. Sure they were in the right for the most part but people are gonna be nervous around cops especially when theyre being interrogated. Cops without patience always seem to be the worst ones though.
No, the cops are 100% in the right here, wasting police time is infuriatingly patience wasting. If somebody said that they paid someone to do something and then the person they paid to not do said thing, while in reality the person who called you, and wasted your time is *HIGH AS HELL* would be super annoying.

Oh Elijah, I've called the police on accident, too. Instead of saying that I helped two people end their earthly experiences, I just simply hung up. A patrol man came out and I explained that I was trying to call my sister (the truth) and the last 3 digits of her number was actually 911. To this day, I don't know why the first 4 digits didn't register.

When will people learn; Police approach you, you keep your hands visible, roll your window down before they get to the car so that your hands are at 10 and 2 when they arrive. Comply with commands easily, and don't argue. You don't need to make harder a very stressful job with your ego. Doesn't matter if you are black, white, whatever. Act calmly, and with respect (even if you have none,) and 95% of the time, no searches. No detainment. No injury. No jail. No court. No lawyer costs. Just FOLLOW COMMANDS and act like a normal person. Don't reach for SHIT! Not your insurance from the glove box (unless approved by officers,) and not your wallet from your back pocket. Easy way to get shot for nothing. Cops have to live in intense moments, make life altering decisions to protect themselves, you, the public from you, etc...Become a Mason. You'll not get let off like everyone thinks, but you'll get to know some real police officers, and you will see that they are just human beings, traumatized daily, families worrying constantly if they'll come home tonight. Just BE STILL and if you aren't or haven't committed a crime, you'll be on your way in a hurry. They don't want you to be a criminal. They don't want to fear you, but people are insane. They HAVE TO protect the "Could," "Might," and "Just in Case."
