BMW E31 850i "Glacier" - Complete Restoration - AirCon/Hydro/Parts Arrival - Episode 5

2020 ж. 16 Мау.

In episode five, I remove the last of the A/C components, safety wire the banjo bolts, do some more engine bay cleaning, remove the hydraulic system and take delivery of OEM parts.
The car needs serious work, from paintwork to suspension work, brakes and engine work. And lets not forget the interior!
Follow along as this car gets returned to its former glory.

  • It’s so refreshing being able to watch an Irish channel amongst all the UK and US rebuilders. Brilliant videos so far!

  • I have restored 2 and am currently restoring a CSi. GREAT videos! But, they do not convey how much work you are actually doing - LOTS! Congrats on all of your hard work, and filming it at the same time!

  • I forgot to say - Glacier is one of my favorite colors in the E31. Beautiful color, that can change shades, depending on the light. Congrats again on all the hard work.

  • I appreciate your time and effort making these videos. I have been looking for a comprehensive video series like this one since we just purchased a 1991 850i here in the US. Two thumbs up.

  • Steve, great work there, I have a 98 840 that is needing TLC also, so you are serving as inspiration. I currently have the front and rear bumpers off awaiting respiratory and on with the front. and rear sub frames for refurb, new shocks and a full exhaust as mine has rotted. Big bills on these beasts but always great to see them on the road - I prefer these to modern bmw's. I look forward to your next update.

  • Another great video Steve. That was some parts bill alright! Btw you're dead right cleaning like a mad man, gives confidence of what's in there already and that what's going in there will last the longest it possibly can. 👍🏻👍🏻

  • Terrific resto job so far & what a wonderful BMW model to put so much effort into. Really enjoying the series so far. PS: You should look into Hydro/Vapor blasting raw/cast items like the intake manifold etc as it will give you a better than new finish at a very reasonable cost.

  • Imagine my surprise just now when I peered beneath the headlight at the intake hose. It has deteriorated, like some sort of dried out fossil. New ones otw £55. the pair.

  • Hey Steve! Just purchased my first E31 850i with a six speed manual. Great condition but long overdue for an overhaul as it has been sitting for several years. Can you share your parts list?
