NOOO, you can't just hack a ps4, change 2 lines of code, and play uncharted 4 at 60fps on ps4. You have to buy the ps5 version for 70 bucks and a ps5 for 500. Jeff: Hacked PS4 go brrrrr.

there is a fan mod for jailbroken ps4 where you can set the temperature of ps4 and not to go fan on jet engine
the only problem is the lower resolution (900p on a big screen dont look that good). But I'm guessing that's a result of the weak hardware.

Bloodbourne was a lot harder because it uses an old engine as most FromSoftware games do (they just aren’t very good devs when you look at the whole picture). The game speed was tied to frame rate so if you ran the game at 60fps originally the game would double in speed, so the guy who made the patch actually had to put a lot of work into it to get it working. But with almost every other PS4 game its as easy as modying 2 lines of hex code.

Nice tour over the possibilities here! Got myself a 7.55 to mess around with. Worth the journey to get under the hood and understand how it all works, but there is a significant hassle factor. I do my actual gaming on a current, unhacked PS4 because of ease of use. What XBOX Series S/X has done to enable developer access, thus allowing homebrew and emulation without hassles is brilliant and should set a new standard.

The stuff you can do is crazy. All these features that are already there and sony doesnt want you anywhere near. Especially how they have a ps2 emulator in the ps4 and never enabled it even if they needed to do some work on it. Wish I had the knowledge and confidence to do this on my own ps4

You mean the save game transfer or something else? Because I HIGHLY doubt that they'd patch the specific "exploit" with a manipulated PS4 save for the PS5. It's a very specific situation and they don't really have a financial reason to patch it, as long as it can't be used to Jailbreak the PS5. Nobody cares if you cheat yourself money in God of War, the only Game Developers I see having issues with such things are Ubisoft and EA, but even there it's not nearly relevant enough they'd care.

the problem with the fps increase doesnt apply to every game, But any per frame movement without deltatime would break and give an advantage/disadvantage. But it's more common on older games and lower experience developers.
I remember jailbreaking my PS3 years ago. I literally did what you say not to do. I hosted modded lobbies, ruined the game for everyone else & I pirated games cause as a teenager I couldn’t afford it.
My PS3 is still sat on my drawers, it's a bit pointless now because of the GTA servers being shut down, but it's still cool to have. I used to love trolling on GTA

PS3 had PSN Spoofing, Basically a way to play online without getting banned. sadly Jailbroken PS4 doesn't have one
jailbroken ps5s are gonna be crazy good value. Built in ps4 backwards compatibility, SHOULD be powerful enough for ps3, definitely powerful enough for ps1, ps2, psp, vita, and more.
PS4 compatibility is default because that PS5 is technically the same AMD GCN technology as the PS4/Pro just smaller, faster and more efficient (RDNA 2). But, PS5s flash memory and storage system isn’t like your traditional hardware layout so I don’t see how anyone would justify trying to get Linux to run optimally, let alone gun games.

The online play becomes less of an issue as Sony shuts down game servers. Maybe someday someone will work out a some kind of private server setup. Or some small hosting company can convince Sony to let them take over the servers to maintain them. I would be willing to pay $15/mo to still be able to play old games online with friends and other people.
Haven't plugged in my PS4 Pro since PS5 launch, turned it on to check firmware, it's 8.01, o well guess I'll have to wait for a newer version to be jailbroken.
I can also tell you the 60FPS thing is because executives know how badly we crave that in modern games and they want to find the most profitable way of monetizing that value before they release games or consoles that can do it constantly. Not about making the gaming experience better, it’s about whether they’ll release two versions of a game or two versions of a console, one capable of 60 & one only coded to 30.
