Excellent
@IMJOSHV, I have a 2013 Sonata with a few cracks on the dashboard. What's best way to fix that? Does that product work on that as well. Thanks man and great job!
Amazing work I do restoration on antique toys and other things and I always admire someone who does undetectable work fabulous job !
NUTS! NONE of the links to products used in this video is working! Why not say the product names in your on-camera narrative! As of now, this video is pretty useless except for some techniques!
Well done Josh! Now for some help? I've got one of the Lexus's with the bad cracked dash issue. Any advice? Can I go Bondo to fill the cracks, sand them, and then color match it? There's about a dozen cracks but NO raised areas. Any advice on exactly what to use would be most helpful. And yes, Lexus is no longer honoring their Expanded Warranty on this huge problem they've had. TIA
Everything he used is listed in description box. I found this video to be immensely helpful!
great job! one of best repairs I have seen.. thanks for the tips!
I need this done right now on my XUV. Thank you for showing the work! Bravo!
Please update if it works
Great job, you know what you are doing keep up the good work
thanks!
Excellent work. Looks brand new.

Great work! It looks fantastic Josh.
Hey man! Really nice video ! I started my company in Quebec where I repair leather sofa, etc. I thinking about going into the car business as well! Do you recommend your kit for starters ? Or just for personal use
great job ..just bought a car needing armrest repair..i'll try this..thanks
Great video. Will these products hold on vinyl car seats? I have creases and wrinkles, cracks and have sprayed on Duplicolor vinyl following all the instructions and looks great but then, after 6 months, cracks show up again...
Repair looks great.
Little trick. Detail is everything, take the time to protect the stitching. Don't overspray the stitching.
I have a question the texture based spray that you're using is not the one that is in the link. is the texture based spray you are using be used for leather and vinyl? if so can you provide a link please or recommend one spay that c an be used for vinyl or leather? Thanks
Is the foam padding underneath the vinyl damaged from having an elbow in the same spot for so long? Or does it not matter?
Great work sir, greetings from Greece.
Thank you!
U will say greetings from Turkey 6 months later :)
@@Tariksayfon : PKK send you his best regards, soon the turkish lira reaches the bottom.
Yeah I have a cigarette burn in a used car I just bought. Can you recommend a product. Also what compound adhesive to you recommend for vinyl repairs?
What if my vinyl is worse than that? Maybe missing a chunk. Do you have a video for that drivers door panel arm rest
Great content bro. This helps a lot! Subscribed.
Awesome, thank you!

@@ronahardy4082 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Someone doesn't know how to read captions in a video.. the words are right there.
@@AdamWood he updated it afterwards.
@@ronahardy4082 um he used SEMS textured spray not any kind of viper, he also didn't use fiberglass patch which is listed as viper too 🙄🥴🤑

Wow can't tell no more great job
LOOKS VERY GOOD. Yes be very careful with the Heat Gun..Even my cheapie from HF gets real hot, real fast! Once I saw the materials in the Description I felt ready to try it myself.... GOOD 👍 JOB!
Thanks so much
Finally, someone who knows what they’re doing! Thank you!
Amazing!
Im trying to learn how to do repairs what does a job like that cost or start at?
Nice job!
Excellent looks new
Is there any chance of the paint getting a little sticky over time? Particularly worried about this for the arm rest, in hot weather where the inside of the car gets hot in the parking lot.
No its a special dye base that we use specifically made for leather and vinyl! Harsh chemicals can break it down but just stay away from spraying anything super strong on the area
what do i do if there’s already a massive hole on it? i have a 2001 toyota camry and my center console has a hole in the leather and it’s broken off the hinges so it falls off easily. ik the easiest thing would be to replace it, but i can’t find any replacements anywhere except one i found a couple years ago on ebay, but the guy was selling it for like $300-$400 cause it’s hard to get. what can i do to fix this issue that i have with it?
Nice job
Where can i find those products?? Excelent video i love it!!! Thank you
kzhead.info/sun/nbmqo6x5n2enjXA/bejne.html
That background beat is the business! Like it? What is the name of the instrumental?
what compound are you using for the crack ?
Description links are coming up to an outdated website, any new product links you can share?
Thanks dude. One of the finer instructions to repair (severe) vinyl damage in a car. I just aquiered a 1974 Mustang with vinyl damage on several surfaces (luckely not the dash or the leather seats). Just to run it by you. When you don’t have an air gun, would you suggest using spray paint?
Yea just get stuff that is made for vinyl and leather!
@@imjoshv Thanks.
Oh. My. God. This is awesome. How does it hold up to the heat? Like Phoenix heat?
Where can I purchase the repair kit?
Really cool repair!
Thank you!!
kzhead.info/sun/nbmqo6x5n2enjXA/bejne.html
That's FANTASTIC! Wow! Superior quick fix. Who does this kind of work? Only dealerships?
All of your product links are broken can you suggest a good diy kit?
I’m been doing these repairs for 14 years, you need to start with a repair compound that you can press a pattern into on the initial pass instead of a sandable fill compound. Will save a lot of time and will keep you from having to use the sem texture coating. Also that sem texture will breakdown and become sticky after constant contact from the oils in skin. It’s meant for bumpers. Will also save the stitching.
Do you have a video sir because this guy said its gotta be heated up first but doesnt show how. Is it done with a hair dryer or a portable propane torch because i have one of those but not a hair dryer. I know id have to be really careful using the torch but ive got decades experience with welding and torching. He also said he was putting the grain look back into it but it looks pretty smooth to me
@@bricknmotor I do this as well. you can use ether. but in my opinion viper makes a better texture sem is'nt bad I have used it many times but viper dries better. and use a graining pad as "can make it better" states above.
Can you tell us the name of the repair compound? 😩
What’s the compound you used there?
Wow nice work!
Thanks 👍
Was mediocre!
which product is best for cracks in vinyl, that have not ruptured through to the padding...but get constant flex? this is the vinyl on the lower side of my leather seat. also I have a worn leather edge right next to stitching - i believe I need to build this up a bit.
vinylandhideproducts.com/collections/compounds/products/dura-flex-professional-reinforced-heat-cure-4oz
Wouldn't it be easier to order the replacement part?
Could you give a list of the products used, for diy's
Yes for sure! All the products I’m using now you have to have an account but I’m working on setting up a way for the everyday diyer to get them!

Can I use the XR-15 Reinforced Hi-Perf Compound to repair vinyl on a leather couch? Or is the air dry filler better? Sorry, new to the process and I'm trying to achieve lasting results as opposed to just a band aid job :)
It depends on the damage. You can email me a pic to josh@detailgreenusa.com if you’d like
Nice job big difference
Thanks 👍
What’s the stuff your putting on the cracks called ??
Is this a product, that when heating with the iron, you could use a grain texture sample? Similar to other repair products?
kzhead.info/sun/nbmqo6x5n2enjXA/bejne.html
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
How do buy the fight color?
Nice work man! 👍 On another note, I couldn’t get any of your products links to work. The ssl security certificate on the website that has the links appears to be out of date so none of my browsers will let m view your links. You might want to check on that when you get a chance.
Hi Josh. I do the same job as you bud here in the UK. I have just found you and I'm.learning everyday. Just a question mate. What is the hot mini iron you use as can't seem to find one please? Cheers. Wayne.
No reply in 4 months not good dude!
kzhead.info/sun/nbmqo6x5n2enjXA/bejne.html
Out of curiosity, how much do you charge for something like that? I'm sure the steering wheel is pretty expensive but I feel like console lids are cheap, provided the part isn't discontinued.
Yea honestly I’m most cases o would just recommend the customer get a new cover. Many time you can get them online and replace it yourself. This was for a dealer so they wanted it done. Dealer price was 75
Great repair
kzhead.info/sun/nbmqo6x5n2enjXA/bejne.html
Thanks. Good to know we should check the stitching to see if it was painted over for possible repair work.
Yea that can be a good a good indicator. There are also some products that can be used that you lay on top of the stitching but its hard to get it covered 100%
Thnk you so much
What happens if you have different color stitching
i hav some of these cracks on my sofa is it the same method of fixing
Hi Zara the same principle should apply but there are some kits that have a colored compound so it’s a bit less work! Just depends on how deep the cracks are. Here’s a video you can check out kzhead.info/sun/d9OaYMuynaKHdq8/bejne.html&feature=share
what is this compound ?
Hi Josh, you used a black texture spray on vinyl / leather but in the product description link of your texture spray say it should NOT be used on vinyl or leather. Can you advise and let us know if it's ok to use on leather/ vinyl for texture, or advise a different product?
I would actually use this instead. Its easier to control! vinylandhideproducts.com/collections/grain-texture/products/texture-paste-4oz
Awesome! Thank you!
👍👍
One question and one question only, does it regain its softness as well!
YES! if you use the right products, they are made to restore the damage back to a factory like finish! www.vinylandhideproducts.com
How do you find the paint that you can use for that to stay ?
vinylandhideproducts.com/collections/auto-matched-colors There is also a new kit coming out on that site soon that allows you to mix the color of your choice!
Love the texture spray!
Where are you located?
thanks bro
Any time
What if I dont want to fix it and just stop damage from spreading?
i would just try heating it and applying pressure to melt it down in the places that are lifting. just be careful
Which texture spray from SEM ?
Its sem 39853, you can also use sem 70022 grain kit, along with sem 38422 leather vinyl repair kit.
Its 39853 however they have a regrain kit 70022 with 6 different types of grains. The leather and vinyl paste is 38422
Can you do this with a vinyl dashboard? My 2014 Camaro dash was ruined by the sun in one spot.
You can, but dashboards are hard to get it so you dont see the repair.
Do people not look in the descriptions part of the videos anymore. Come on people, we have been using KZhead for several years now. This is a common place to find the info we need. This keeps the videos from being so lengthy.
Thanks!!!!
Clogged up the stitching, unavoidable?
Come to SC & repair mine!!!
Will that work on a car seat?
Yep
could you suggest some places that do training in interior repair?
where do you live?
@@imjoshv Wichita Kansas but I am willing to travel

Oh wow it looks so easy. I wonder how much pwople chargw for that
Depends on the repair. But its a good business!!
What brand is the sprayable texture
sem
what product did you use to fill the leather? and where can you buy it?

did you heat it up and how?
Did you watch the video? Because that would tell you.
Would this work on the headband of headphones?
not really. that material is typically too thin
What’s the putty called and where can I get it from ?
kzhead.info/sun/nbmqo6x5n2enjXA/bejne.html
Can this compound be used on foam steering wheels?
yep
but foam steering wheels can also be heated and then stamped instead. Which creates are more durable repair
Hey Josh, I curious about the iron you’re using with the Teflon mat. What brand and where can I get one? I haven’t seen one like that from any of my distributors. Thanks!
Hi Andy, i was using this one in the video. amzn.to/2vmT4GV Its a back up unit i have just in case. Its a little tricky cause its heats up almost too much. I prefer to use this: www.vinylpro.com/fixer-tool/ But also found this one that im gonna give a try. Looks like it would work perfectly and you can adjust the heat: amzn.to/2QeP5mU

Why not use bondo
