Who is Caesar's Descendant - Noa or Proximus Caesar? Mae Explained
Years after Caesar's rule, a juvenile ape embarks on a voyage that prompts him to examine his ingrained beliefs about history and make decisions that will shape the destiny of both apes and humans. The highly anticipated return of the simian universe, known as the Kingdom of the planet of the apes, is imminent after a hiatus of 7 years. The premise is as follows: Approximately three centuries after the events depicted in War for the Planet of the Apes (2017), ape societies have sprung from the oasis where Caesar guided his fellow apes, while humans have devolved into a wild and primitive condition. When the dominant ape ruler Proximus Caesar, equipped with weapons created from forgotten human technologies, distorts Caesar's principles to subjugate other groups, the chimpanzee tracker Noa embarks on a perilous expedition with a human girl named Mae to decide the fate of both apes and humans. Considering Proximus is literally a different species from original Ceasar, I'd say that's pretty cut and dry.

Bonobos and chimpanzees can interbreed, though it happens so rarely I can’t really find definitive information on if the offspring are sterile or not.

I think this story is similar to Bible stories. Ceasar is Adam. And Noa is Noah where the first ape kingdom fell due to greed. And a small group of apes escaped. And eagle symbolizes god or godly power of choose one.

If you compare the eyes of Caesar and Noa, they both have a greener and brighter hue which may mean they are related and their lineage is smarter then others. As apes of the lineage are the only ones to ever be exposed to both ALZ-112 and ALZ-113. If you also compare the eyes of Proximus Caesar and Koba, they are darker then Noa's and Caesars's, similar to natural apes who aren't as intelligent as humans or advanced apes.

It would also be interesting if Mei was a descendent of a group of rare humans whose bodies managed to develop either an immunity or a vaccine for the viruses. Thus preserving their ability to speak. Additionally, much of the original three movies from what can remember took place in the Eastern and central United States. Leaving open the possibility that humans in other parts of the world managed to weather the virus's spread, and either regained the ability to speak or as stated earlier develop a cure for the virus that came too late to stop civilizations complete collapse.

That’s what I’m thinking, hell in war we see that the US still had a fully and completely operational military as well as command and control, logistics, fuel production etc in order to enable the force at the end of the movie. Who’s to say there aren’t millions of humans left all over the planet that either completely weather it out or just never make contact with the new strain from war since it’s probably localized

That's only true for primitive Bonobo society. These apes have human level intelligence, so their primitive behavior has been mostly eradicated. They still make ape noises and stuff, but they're slowly becoming more and more human like and in most human societies males are in positions of leadership.

I just saw the new Kingdom of the Apes movie last weekend. I was wondering who really is Caesar's descendant in this movie: Noa, Arterius, or Mei with Caesar gone along with his son, Rocket, Maurice and Nova all gone too after some 300 years since Caesars death in this movie. And it was crazy Arterius was right about the humans cannot be trusted, but he was also wrong in twisting Caesar's words of "Ape together strong" and "Ape not kill Ape".

At the end of the movie we saw May took the chip and hand it to the other remaining human with complete normal intelligence so it's clear that she either volunteered or was sent by humans to a mission to retrieve that information and everything in that chip, she knew what to do and went for the chip

What about this theory? Did we ever learn what happened to Ellie from Dawn of the POTA? She was immune to the simian virus. What if Mae is a descendant of Ellie and Malcolm? Malcolm was killed by the Colonel but Ellie could have been pregnant and given birth to a child that was born with full immunity as her and Malcolm and those offspring continued to birth immune children.
