Restoring World's Smallest Italian Coffee Maker
Restoring World's Smallest Italian Coffee Maker
For this restoration project,I found the world's smallest Italian coffee maker, almost 9 cm (3,54 in) and you will see like always, laser cleaning, and some tips and tricks.
I started the restoration by disassembling the coffee maker and after that I used laser cleaning for some aluminum parts.Believe me,this will be a nice restoration video. Because this Moka pot was manufactured in 1950 and use it day by day,the inner parts was so dirty and stained. For these parts I showed you a trick you can do it at home if you use a coffee maker like moka pot. I showed also another trick that I saw on KZhead and is a false experiment. In the end of the video you will see a nice coffee maker restored perfectly and I also tested it. Restoring this italian coffee maker was so challenging for me because in the end, this maker work under hot water pressure and i need to do a good restoration work.

It's ok I love peoples curiosity.
Beautiful restoration! Barista advice here: Try with fresh ground coffee and a bit finer grinding to get a better cup with that coffee maker. Congratulations for your work and I hope to see more coffee tools restorations.
Do you know of a way it could also produce Crema as well? I would think (It being Italian) that there would have been some crema.
It's essentially a Moka Pot. Contrarily to shoddy marketing, these are not espresso machines and don't use a high enough pressure to produce crema. Still make delicious coffee though.@@Extreme-Graphics
Beautiful restoration! You have to love what that laser does , 1950's sci-fi movie deathray made real . Cream of tartar and lemon , great to know about . Thanks for all the information . Stay healthy and keep posting .
I really appreciate Richard 🙏🏻👍🏻🤗 thank you very much
That thing is pretty cool turning paint into what looked lije plasma.
Yes,that is the process
Nice lazer cleaning. But i dont tink the coffey maker is as old as 1950. Thos markings on base are only in use since 2004!.
Well, in itally they make a lot of coffee, so the wear of these devices can be rapid
I agree...More like the 1980's
i have seen mid 90's coffee makers looks much worse internally. The oldest I own is from the 70s and is unusable. This is a Brandani "Melita express" from 2012 (with those symbols), and it is only a free inspiration of the original OMG (company that later became "Bialetti") "Nuova Mignon" of the 60s and of course without paint. So this one has only been deliberately soiled and abused, internally it is perfect, the filters and seals after less than 10 years are unrecognizable. The video is still very nice.
I looked a bit further into this and @Gerald is right. the food safe symbol of the wine glass and fork came out of a law in 2004. It was to mark food related products to clarify if it was safe for food to come in contact with it. still a great video tho👍
Amazingly good - it's nice to see things being reused rather than just being thrown away. Too many people are keen to get new instead, so thank you for showing us that that isn't necessary - we CAN reuse our old things. :)
Thanks again 👍🏻🍀
Forget ASMR, laser cleaning is the new standard!
Well as I can see you are a professional and there is no doubt about that, you used the best colours (It looks vintage), the filming is perfect, the environment using white and strong colours made me feel like a child again. Your video made me feel peaceful and calm, you definitely deserves my like
I definitely appreciate your reply 🤗🤗👍🏻🍀thank you very very much 🙏🏻
That is such a cool little espresso maker! I enjoy the laser cleaning and the quality of your restorations too.
Hehe I can almost hear you say "BRO! I'M FILMING!" 😂 Love the colour you chose! Fantastic restoration, as usual. Thanks from Canada
Thank you very much Nolly Polly 🤗🍀👍🏻
That was great. Loved the laser cleaner. Good to see older things brought back to life instead of ending up in the dustbin. The only thing I will toss away is something completely broken and irreparable. Glad I found this channel and that is coffer maker turns out a truly wonderful tasting coffee. 👍
Thanks chuck 👍🏻👍🏻
"Sorry for my brothers curiosity" Your brother wasent curious, he was making sure you weren't stealing any more of his tools

That's a pretty cool design for a coffee maker. Small, ingenious and practical. Nice.

Peace Sandra 🍀🙏🏻
May I send you a 30 year old Moka pot from my grandmother's cabinet? You are awesome!
Perfect restoration, thank you!
Thank you Kirill 👍🏻🤗🍀
Amazing this is how all home coffe machine should have been made
Again, just an exquisite, poetic, lyrical restoration. So carefully crafted with so much patience. The laser is amazing, but really, it's not the machine, it's your artistic skill as a videographer that transforms your videos into something special. Wonderful editing and deft use of music.
🙈 lovely words. Thank you very very much P F . I try my best 😇
Wow. Love the way you stripped the paint off. What an unusual coffee maker. I love it. Well done.
Thank you very much Chanda 😊
Loved the video. Cute little coffee maker. I’ll have to the cream of tartar and lemon process. Just have to try and remember it when I need it again. 🇦🇺👍
Thank you shed 🤗👍🏻
the rust was so bad it looked like coffee grounds all over it.
Actually it’s old coffee, not rust :)) in this condition I bought it and I wanted to show it so 🤗👍🏻

I'm always a bit critical when painting with spray can, but your results are really good. This laser gun is fantastic and certainly not cheap. and the little coffee maker is really cute. you did a great job again. 👍🏻
Thanks man 👍🏻 in my last video I tried for the first time the powder coating 😇

Im the first moment I thought "why is he lasering a coffeemaker doused with old Coffee. But at the end, the result and the little cleaning details and experiments are amazing. Like it heaps (:
🥳🥳🥳 tkx
I have never had one of those that made good coffe, but this one looks pretty amazing! Great job, it turned out really amazing
Thank you Virginia 🤗🍀🍀
It's a bit more complicated than water in bottom, grounds in basket, screw together and put over heat. I suggest putting hot water in the bottom (use water from your kettle and watch out, thing gets hot). Use a fine-medium grind (I use setting 10 on the baratza encode/virtuoso). Fill the basket and make sure there's no air pockets, but don't compress the coffee. This is to prevent channeling (where the pressure pushes grounds out of the way and goes straight through without really brewing). Then screw the whole thing together (watch out, hot), make sure you get a good seal and don't overtighten, and put it over low heat. This is important. You want it to brew, not boil. When the flow goes from deep dark brown to honey coloured, it's time to remove it from the heat source. That way you'll have a deep, rich coffee that isn't over or under extracted. My moka pot experience reached new heights when I learned this. It's almost a ritual for me now. Very calming and grounding.
What you write here,is barista level 😂😂 but good to know 👍🏻🍀🤗🤗
@@annemariekevandijk7431 omg, im ashemed of the way i used to do this! Haha thank you very much, i will try this!
Wow, think I logged on as you posted!
Insane coincidence :)) enjoy the show 👍🏻🤗🙏🏻🍀
Great restoration job! And a very nice design.
That thing was in better shape and cleaner than the Italian coffee maker I use daily.
The laser cleaner in the video LOOKS SO FREAKIN AWESOME!!!
Thank you Roozydb 👍🏻👍🏻🍀
Excellent as always. I wish they still made this coffee maker.
They made Billy. The same model 👍🏻
A) they do and b) it’s just a clone of a Bialetti with a divider integrated.
There's nothing wrong with your brother being there. That's how he learns. Might have a future lazer burner in the making. Let him observe, he might even want to help. It's a good thing brother.
Great video, it ties in great with the Peugeot grinder! I will be using that cream of tartar and lemon trick on my Moka pot. Some advice: when making coffee using that espresso/Moka maker if it tastes burnt or not very good boil the water in a kettle or pan first and then put it in the coffee maker. It will make a much tastier coffee. When you boil the water in the machine the heat of the metal and steam can sometimes spoil the coffee.
Thank you for your advice. You have right, first we need to put hot water for a good taste. Thank you for letting this there🤗🤗👍🏻🍀
@@CoolAgainRestoration no worries. And thanks again for sending me those image files for the grinder! Are you on Tysy's Facebook group, Best Restorations on KZhead? When I'm finished I'll post pictures on there and include you in it with a thank you. facebook.com/groups/699566160544956/?ref=share

There is no man behind the camera only a tripod holding said camera!! It's only one person in the room! Lol

I liked the way it looked before you painted it
Dude you can *see* that laser. Thats how powerful it is. I’m impressed!
fantastico lavoro, da vero artista, complimenti David

Thank you very much 🥰
share that cream of tartar and lemon secret with TYSY ;)
He saw my video 👍🏻🥳
I like to use citric acid and hot water.
Great job, once again. Hope the coffee tasted good.
That laser thing was pretty rad😀
nossa ficou muito top
I've been watching a lot of your videos. Very nice work. Cool shop
Thank you very much Michael 🤗😎
Just goes to show you don’t need an expensive machine to have homemade espresso. Awesome restoration
Technically it's not an espresso. It's a different kind of coffee, less concentrated and less creamy. It's the typical kind of coffee that you would drink in a home environment in Italy (before nespresso machines became ubiquitous at least).
Do you edit your vids yourself? Love the part with the hammer hitting / zooming in. Clever and rare. Thanks vid the vid. Enjoyed it as much as the others.
Hi Aleksandar. Yes,I edit myself. Thank you very much,I try my best 😇
Anyone else see a Minion stuck head-first in a barrel? Lovely work, subscribed.
Thank you David , I see the minion :))))
I think I could watch stuff cleaned buy a laser all day lol Look great and great job restoring it as well Enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
Thank you for your thumb up 👍🏻🍀
@@CoolAgainRestoration You're welcome!!
I feel like watching a sci-fi movie with ur Lazer... Beautiful restoration..
Hahaha..thanks Shierra. On instagram I put a short story with the laser and for the music I choosed the soundtrack from movie: X Files 😂😂
Was the laser cleaner expensive? I’ve seen other rust removal videos using bigger versions of these lasers. So cool to watch. This is the future of rust removal folks.
This is too expensive and I dont know if they will be more cheap to be accesible for all
The Laser is AWESOME!!! That's my first time seeing those things. (usually I only saw sandblasting) But I have questions, is that Laser will hurt you if it touched your skin?
Hi Sirius! Tkx for feedback. First of all,to answer you: no,the laser don’t do any damage for skin. Then,I suggest you to watch my previous video with coffee grinder. I touched my fingers with laser 👍🏻🤗wait your reaction
@@CoolAgainRestoration owww wowwww that was Awesome!!! You didn't even scared when the Laser touch your fingers!!! EPICCC!!!!!! 😆😆😆💖💖💖💖
Btw why did I didn't notice it before.... I'm pretty sure I watched the whole video 🤔
🤗🤗
Laser cleaning is nice technique
😍
Yes it is awesome 😎. Almost makes me want to drink coffee😁
Come to serve you :)))😁🍀🤗
Complimenti! Great work as always
Grazie mille Andrea
That laser is freaking awesome good job Cool Again Restorations
Thank you Miguel 👍🏻🤗🥳
Dude! Your laser rust remover is soooo cool!
Thanks dude 👍🏻
Bravo 🙌
Ładnie wyszło ☺️
I have one of these stove top espresso makers. Makes good coffee.
Indeed !👍🏻
Even if coffee have nasty taste (as fried onion), it smells very good (almost as fried onion). I think we're rich enough to fry onions or boil small cup of coffee. Just for pleasant smell.
It's an expresso twin filter!...bravissimo!
Grazie Daniel 👍🏻
Anyone else get to this video from the last one cuz of the coffee for next video jar lol I love your lazer its cool and pretty effective
Thanks kitten kat 👍🏻
Nice restoration 😇
Thank you Alex 👍🏻🍀🤗
The coffee maker you restored is so adorable! You did a really great job with making it beautiful and working again. P.S., How did the espresso turn out??? Was it good?
I don’t drink a lot of coffee to be able to compare the taste of coffees, but my wife said was good,so..nobody died, that’s good :)))
Bialetti still produced this type of coffee maker 😉 If you buy the original, the coffee is good, strong, but good
@@CoolAgainRestoration Some advice when using a new coffeemaker: 1) For normal use, never wash with soap (or a dishwasher): just rinse with water until coffee residues are gone 2) A brand new coffeemaker is usually cured before used for brewing coffee: it suffices to prepare it a couple of times then drain the resulting coffee into the tub 3) If your coffee starts tasting funny, replace the gasket!
Molto bene mi piace bravissimo ragazzo 😘
Grazie mama 😘😇🍀
Nice work!
Thank you!
Do you have any recommendations for people without access to a laser or sandblaster? I know it can't be situational, but any ideas to start looking around into would be great. I have little experience in metal parts and am more f a wood kinda guy. Much appreciated and fantastic restorations my dude
Thanks for appreciation. You can use a soft brush attachet to a grinder,or electrolisys..if you need to remove paint, paint stripper work well..there are many methods to do the job
Brilliant!
Thanks Joannes 👍🏻🍀
Just subbed you should have a million subscribers! Keep making videos and I’ll keep watching them!
