@@Peakfreud It just happens Steve Kerr listened to Pop more than Phil. Maybe because Pop is more relatable and cares about relationships. When Steve announced his interest to coach, PhilJax invited him to coach NY. Pop told him to coach where Steve's family will be in a better situation. Kerr felt it is in SF. Warrior bandwagons tend to dismiss Pop's influence to GS' ongoing glory years. Phil settled in former player Derek Fisher. Few years later, Fish was fired, and so was Phil.

@@Peakfreud So what’s the moral lesson? Phil Jackson is most effective if he’s the coach, NOT as VP of basketball operations. That’s why the 1999 Knicks’ Playoff run was a fool’s gold. Wow I haven't seen Ahmed Rashad in years....I remember his Saturday morning NBA shows in the early 90s
Those were the days
Even as a lifelong Mavericks fan, I still can’t deny the greatness of Pop! We’re also ready for you to retire whenever you’re ready, just fyi
What an amazing human being. Much love Pop!
Let’s go 210!!!!
Foundation behind all the success Truly great coach
Never change, Pop... Can't wait to see you back on court. Here's to more yelling & ejections!
Yes, we want some nasty!
“Don’t speak, just sit down.” Pop got no chill with his boys even though they’re retired.
I can listen to coach Pop speak all day.
A great basketball coach. A better human being.
What A Class Act. For the Spurs. For Basketball. For the NBA. A Real Class Act
Pop is rare gem as a person and as a coach. No one else like him.
nothing but the utmost respect to the legend that is Coach Pop
This man had Larry brown and Don Nelson as his mentors. How lucky can you get lol
Coach pop is the best to watch coaching and listen. Basketball is in a better place thanks people like him
Wish he ran the country 🇺🇸
The goat..the legend..the hero.......
Amazing speech!!
Other teams talk about being a family, but these guys are unbelievable. The blue print
Goodnight, pop got the foreigners to try and pressure Kawhi Leonard into playing. If it's a family he's an abusive dad.
@eddievangundy4510 because I'm sure he was really hurt and I've never heard of a player refusing to play because they wanted to play somewhere else, right? Do you think the Spurs paid him millions to sit there. It's a business also. Where do you work that you can be sick all year and get paid and never get fires. Use your brain.
man, I was waiting for pop to crack a big smile during this ceremony! what a wonderful career and resume sir!
Brilliant, generous, kind. Coach Pop.
Bless you Coach Pop!
I ❤ this man. I wish we had more people in leadership like him.
I been waiting for this a long time, I'm not done.
El Mas grande de todos Pop. Sin dudas. Grande. Historia de la NBA. Historia grande de la NBA y el baloncesto mundial. Gracias Pop.
Great speech !! Great man
Great human being, great speech, amazing coach, amazing career. Of all the things he said what moved me the most was seeing the faces, beautiful innocent faces of his grandchildren. They made my day and may God bless you all.
Man... such a beautiful speech!!!!
Man is my favorite coach of all time. I’m not a Spurs fan
Simply amazing!!!
This IS a SPECIAL man!!!
Lmao the POTENT silence in the room when he said Seattle should have a team is only topped by him acknowledging "yeah I'm probably gonna get in trouble for that." God I love this guy
Yes, but Gary Payton should work it out and build back an NBA team in Seattle so Pop can see his family four more times a year. Get going, Gary!
for me, the best coach ever.
Man, Ahmad Rashad got hella old. Remember when he used to be in his 40's in the 1990's and being Michael Jordan's VHS🏀Tapes MJ used to make back then.
We need more Pops in this world.
Well deserved! 🐐
The LEGEND¡! Nuff said
Coach Pops coaching tree in the NBA is insane
Steve Kerr is a Phil Jackson/ Greg Pop hybrid. Its Sad that fans get caught up in the moment a choose to tear Down one coach in order to celebrate the other.
Coaches settle it on the court, Fans never settle anything in the comments.
@@OrionOodama You can learn from one persons Failures, just as easily as you can learn from another's successes. Happens in parental relationships all the time. The combined experiences of both learning situations is what provides the overview & big picture. Because you're always gonna fail & succeed in any endeavor, unless you're perfect.
@@Peakfreud So what’s the moral lesson? Phil Jackson is most effective if he’s the coach, NOT as VP of basketball operations. That’s why the 1999 Knicks’ Playoff run was a fool’s gold. Jackson was reportedly waiting in the wings, but since the Knicks went to the Finals and Jackson can’t wait any longer, they lost a man who could revive the Knicks’ real glory years and give Patrick well-deserved ring/s.
Great speech 👏🏽
when Pop first started people actually hated him and wanted him fired......now look at him. Legend
great coach no questions
A great coach and a great man :)🎉
Thank you Coach Pop. The greatest coach of all-time

One of greatest Coaches of all time !
Simply the greatest
Nothing but respect. Model coach and human being 🎉😊❤
Pop played in gary and ec??? This speech gave me true motivation. Holy hell this guy has done it all
Pop is the coach loved and respected most by a coach's own players.
Is Coach Pop the only active head coach in the HOF?
Pop's a great man and one of the best coaches ever.
Even though he beat my team most of the time in the playoffs he is my favorite NBA coach of all time. Dude is a legend and I’m happy he got in the HOF. Seeing him going in with Tony Parker was beautiful to see. I’ll take him over Phill Jackson any day.
give pop MJ and then Kobe and Shak in their prime
Phil Jackson isn’t half the man or coach that Pop is!
