    • Hello Jay! What I’ve been curious to see is how people would react (if any), to BTS to the following: 1. Their success 2. Why do Most(not all) Koreans hate on their success? 3. Should the government make new changes to their Militar policy for artist who help Korea (because of how much positive influence/money/culture awareness/ and respect they’ve contributed to the country, and I know there are many several groups that have helped as well.) 4. Would other men feel good or bad if they do change laws to help artists like BTS and more to keep their success by allowing them to grow. I know very well this is a sensitive topic to Koreans, im not one, so i cant really give my opinion, but as an outsider who has a different P.O.V on Korea, i know Koreans can become a power house. I really enjoy your channel because you go beyond to talk to people about matters like these. Because if no one talks about it, then how and when can “we”(the country that we each live in) progress? I know the Korean gov. constantly changes and makes new laws that help athletes, gold medalist etc., and i know that Korea wasn’t expecting any time soon an artist, let alone a Kpop group to be the face of Korea. When has a Korean artist ever been nominated for four nominations for Billboard? Let alone a Grammy?! And TOP SELLING SONG?!? Billboard now has four asian nominees. I know BTS has built a ladder for other groups to rise to the top, and while each group has worked hard on their success, theres without a doubt the fact that the Korean Language will become the most spoken language in the world because of factors like BTS and other groups. P.S.- I don’t belong to a fandom, im simply someone who enjoys music, and wish the best to Korea so they can succeed💪.

    • It takes a lot of mental power to build that courage. Even so based how they have to live because of the laws, they are mentally strong. Even those who are considered rich living in Pyongyang. Because enable to still live in such a city, you have to continuously work hard. Working is life in North Korea. And since they don’t know how life is like outside of the walls, for them to think it’s something everyone goes through and it’s just “common” is admirable. I admire they’re mental strength a lot. Something I feel is illegal that I shouldn’t envy is that because I am born with so much already. To many North Koreans, I have everything. And because they work so hard enable to live, it makes me feel like I don’t deserve anything.

    • It’s insane there are some South Koreans being racist to North Koreans when they’re both still Korean. It doesn’t even make sense to me because how are they mad that a North Korean is able to finally live their own life? How are they mad they have rights now? How are they mad that they have a nice home, and food to eat? How are they mad they can chose who they love? How are they mad that they can dress how they want? Speak what they like? Watch what they desire? I heard some people are jealous or angry because supposedly “a North Korean took my job”. But if they were South Korean would they say the same thing? Honestly racists sound stupid and make no sense at all.

  • It's so terrifying to me to think that there are countries out there who want to prevent people from leaving the country so badly that they will shoot at them if they try to leave and that the people really do need to "escape". That takes so much bravery for those people to get out, and for her to tell the story so simply while smiling is incredible. I can't even imagine needing to swim across a river while being shot at, makes me a bit thankful for what I have.

They're polite and friendly, so kind and understanding with foreigners and just anyone asking for help. This city looks clean and quiet like most I've seen, as opposed to all the actual trash covering the streets of the usa nationwide.

    • You just saw a short video of a street corner of South Korea. Not all cities look clean because they don’t have trash cans 🚮 in the streets for everyone. So there’s usually piles of trash on the ground. People also spit everywhere. Nobody’s being disgusting towards anyone. You’re just uneducated and romanticizing based on this short clip not knowing the actual reality. Go watch more videos specifically about the lack of trash cans in South Korea.

  • The words said inspire me hope for the Korean people, and they seem to be what the Germans said before the reunification, in which there was an explosion of joy in front of the Berlin wall, after the suffering of the families for the long separation. I am Italian, but I feel sympathy and sympathy with you. I met Vietnamese in 1979 who fled South Vietnam by boat and were picked up by Italian military ships sent to rescue. Two families came to live in my country and I can say that hearing you speak, I relived with nostalgia the same "oriental spirit" that they transmitted.

I also wonder how the capitalistic and communistic mindsets of the different countries would be able to be aligned? but it is good to see that there is a will for the countries to be united, i just hope that if it does happen, it will be at least somewhat peacefully without harm to the masses - even if that doesn't seem in the realm of possibility

  • Watching this video makes me happy but also puts tears in my eye. It’s sad that the Korean nation is divided into two, North/South. I think Korean people are beautiful and loving and I wish that one day soon there will be a unification for Korea. I’m not Korean, but I have much respect for the people and their culture. I’m Vietnamese and when I was a little boy, my mom told me we have to leave our country because of the Northern Vietnamese is taking over South Vietnam which was where I’m from. It was a very scary and confusing time for me growing up back then and it was all I ever knew of my own country. Now that I’m grown up living in the USA, seeing how my country is United as one and how well it’s developing as a modern Asian country, it makes me feel so happy that we all, North and South are together as one nation. I truly wish that this can also happen for the Korean nation, again I’m Vietnamese, but I look at the people of Korea as my other Asian brothers and sisters….

  • I went to school in a small state in America, and for 2-4 years there was this really small kid. He was always so skinny, and pretty short compared to the other kids: obviously lacked nutrition and vitamins. Turns out 3 years prior him and his mother made the brave, risky, and lethal challenge to escape North Korea. They became South Korean citizens for 2 years where they studied English, then moved to America for a better future. He lived in New York for a year, but found it too expensive even in the poorer areas. He had to be the sweetest kid I’d ever met. His manners where other worldly, and tied shoes for other kids. I remember he walked me to my bus with his umbrella, because it was raining. He hardly spoke, and it made me sad. I only heard him once speak more than 1 sentence. We were studying about different countries, when we were upon North Korea. The teacher made him talk about it, and my heart broke when he said he had no idea if his dad and older sister are okay. He talked about the punishments he seen inflicted on the family of those who escaped, and he was on the verge of tears. The most painful cry I ever witnessed, he stopped showing up to school after that and apparently transferred. I’ll never forget him.
