  • I'm so happy you got to experience the Army life a bit. I was in for 10 years as an audiovisual combat photographer. I also went through airborne school at Ft. Benning and also was attached to the Golden Knights for their annual winter training. I made their annual winter training video back in 1998. But I got to get 3 tandem jumps with them, they are so awesome. So I'm glad you got to finally experience jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, nice job Michelle! Go Army!

  • I really love these videos but recently I’ve disliked how short they’ve been for the past few episodes :( I really enjoyed the longer episodes because it led to a better understanding to the field and Michelle’s experience, and the shorter ones just feel like career ads because of how quickly each segment goes by. The production value is still amazing, but the amount of content in such a small amount of time makes it feel empty. I just miss the longer episodes

It also shows your respect for other professions. Such as emt police firefighter etc. and this one was just a beautifully done as the others. Thank you for showing the emotional side you went through and showing just a glimpse of what these professionals go through. It is not something that comes out easily in a documentary. Thank you I appreciate you very much.

  • Is there a reason these are so short/rushed? It seems BONKERS to put in that much time, effort, pain, weeks of prep, footage, etc etc and just condense it to 14 minutes. It feels so rapid-fire, like we barely even get settled in to the meat and pace of it all. Just racing through totally new faces, job titles, tasks, locations for just a line -- more like an intro video or trailer.

    @Kaalyn_HOW@Kaalyn_HOW Жыл бұрын
    • (I also feel like you used to take a long, thoughtful moment to really explore the hard, serious issues within each job you're "trying on" - bc you really want to do it justice and at least explain with words what you can't know with your body in just a week. I know you've done soooo many now that it might feel repetitive or like people "already know", but each one is definitely unique and I know folks often watch them in isolation. To see "their thing". But you are also so in tune with people that you find the unique threads in everything.)

    • I think it's because statistically the algorithm favors videos less than 15/20 minutes and those are usually the ones with the most views. If it's too long a lot of people won't click on them, that's why a lot of the top KZheadrs seldom have more than 20 minute long videos

  • Is it just me or do these videos get shorter and shorter? I would really love longer challenge accepted videos. It's probably hard for the editor to take so many parts out and chop it down as well so maybe it would help both the editor and the audience. On her first jump, because she was so tiny (4'10", 80 pounds) they had her lined up as the first jumper. When the green light came on, the jumpmaster said "Goodbye Smurf" and literally kicked her out of the plane. She ended up landing on someone else's canopy. While he was yelling at her to get off his canopy, she gathered hers (which had collapsed), threw it up and it (luckily) caught the breeze. She finished the jump unharmed.

Whether in terms of physical ability or determination, the average person can't do half the stuff she's tried for the proper amount of time actually required to pass. Without knowing anything about you, I have a hard time believing you'd succeed in special forces training yourself.
