And it handles superbly too with that light weight. I'm sure Litchfield and other companies can get another 50bhp out of it with stage 2 versions at some point. And 50bhp more in something waying 1100kg is a lot.

@@zakelwe 50hp extra is only possible with a bigger turbo, which also gives more lag. So yes, it would be quicker while moving, but from the start it could be less fast.

I'm more surprised taht alpine was so fast. It isnt actually that fast. 17sec to 200kph vs 14sec for Supra... Supra should be also faster. Edit: I see now that the alpine is tuned... That explains everything.

@@neonmarker6994 Most luxurious? No. That shits on a damn Volkswagen bug chassis (MQB) and has nothing on the Porsche. Audi's are nice but they're below Bmw, Mercedes and Porsche in terms of build quality. I've owned 6 myself.
I am shocked that the Alpine is so fast with only "300" hp. Something tells me the tuned version of the A110 is just as underated as the rest of these German cars.

I'm a fan of Alpine and I'd say it's hard to tell: The Alpine's suspension isn't really made for a track, more for roads and fun, so it's not a firm as some would like on a racetrack. And maybe larger tires for more grip. The future A110S on the other hand...? :D

@@RasmusandPiper they inserted an extra gear shift between the 0-60 because they know that stats don’t matter and the joy while driving is what’s important. That way you can drive the engine at higher rpm even without going fast (other than the cayman)

For anyone interested here are the power to weight (hp per ton) figures for each car: Porsche - 251 Audi - 258 Supra - 235 (despite the official hp figure of 340, it actually has closer to 370) Alpine - 273 Would like to see an Elise cup 250 go up against these. I feel it would come last in a straight line with no launch control and it being manual but still would like a comparison. Power to weight is comparable to the alpine at least.

The emissions thing is just the addition of an OPF and no more pops and cracks; the engine is *supposed* to be the same spec as the pre-facelift version. I've got a pre-facelift coupe and it was much more rapid than this TTRS even before I had it tuned. It seems to me there is little point in these Carwow comparisons if they can't even get all the drivers to be reasonably competent. Maybe they should just time each car separately with the same driver...?!

Great sports car show down, Mat! Really love this one! Well, the lightest pretty much wins although the TTRS with the most power at 400 bhp, 4-wheel-drive and no significant weight disadvantage seemed to be almost an anomaly. The Supra is a really good performer it must be said although I personally think that Storm Trooper front end does not do the rest of the car any favors. The Alpine is absolutely stunning in this paintwork too!

Because it's what the manufacture usually provide or what they have on their disposal.

For me the Alpine always was a legendary car. I was looking for it for so long and finally found one on French roads. I never thaught that this car would be able to be up with the German Audi and Porsche.

The new ones don’t unless you go to Revo or someone and have the launch control limiter upped and the OPF removed. I drove a new RS3 last week and it’s not as quick as my m240i whereas the previous one would do it easy.
Rs3 will not do it that fast. However something was seriously wrong here!!! Considering the TTRS usually runs in the low 3 second mark to 60, so it should have smoked basically everyone to 100......

There is numerous tests and drag races that are done by pros. TTrs got no match in his leageu. Quattro, 5cylinder, 400bhp and super fast stronic. No rwd car is match for that in drag race. And guess what, rwd supra beat him in 402. Wtf? Now supra is better than m240i or m140i? Yeah right

some of the fastest engines in the world are inline 4. they can easily produce well over 1000bhp. It's a matter of quality not size.

I own a TTRS... It wasn’t launched properly... You can see in the video, before the car launches the rear end dips about a second before the race starts. That happens when you turn launch control on and wait too long, bc it will disengage. Whenever the car launches properly, the back end doesn’t dip like that before you launch the car... Run em back!!! Or you can run me in my APR TTRS 😁

It’s the weight of the Alpine, the other three weigh in the ~1500 kg neighbourhood, the Alpine weighs something like 1100 kg. That’s a massive difference

I own an Alpine 110 Pure and love it! Personally I thought the Alpine would come 3rd or 4th here, because the car is all about the ride and handling and not outright speed. Yes this is the Litchfield version, but that Audi should have beaten it. I test drove an Audi RS3 & M2 Competition along with the Alpine both felt much more powerful, but not so special or fun to drive compared to the Alpine & the way it corners its sublime. Have previously nearly always had German cars the Alpine is so refreshing to drive in that it bucks the trend being smaller lighter and so much more fun in a way it rivals can't match. Other drivers on the road seem to love the car giving you the thumbs up, letting you out, generally respecting the car - something I've never experience before, unlike when I drove German cars everyone hated you LOL

German (premium) cars are indeed often associated with douchebags. Honestly it's bit like famous brands for clothing. A lot of people buy them because they imagine it gives them some kind of status. And individuals who want those cars because they truly like them, "suffer" from the other buyers' reputation
Why is the Audi a convertible? They're heavier, less aerodynamic, less balanced without a roof especially with higher force and drag.
And also less stiff meaning the launch is worse

this video is an artifact. the alpine can be as quick as the audi (0 60 mph in 3.2 seconds) only if you throw it from a cliff.
It was obvious that the alpine is faster but the TT RS driver just sucks.. The car can make the quarter mile easily in under 12 seconds
I don't think it really matters because this model Audi has never managed to pull 11.5sec like the Alpine did here.
