Once I saw the Thing 1 you mentioned, I just *KNEW crystal clear* that this video would be top-notch in teaching how to get into a top US college in *just around 11 minutes*! And it is!! *Held my attention till the very end!* I can definitely see any high schooler watching it boost their chances to get into a top US college tremendously *right from day 1 of high school!* Totally unique, genuine & to the point video regarding US college admissions unlike so many superficial & incomprehensive videos out there on this topic. Will definitely help many to start focusing on academic research right in high school as well; an essential aspect to portray your spike/peak in college applications in your chosen interest! Thank you SO much, Amy! Sincerely, Human Human
What is this
A bit much for a KZhead video... but, ok!
@@usacolover yeah, it’s a bot, has over 200 comments, all like this.
One tip that you shared which especially hit me hard is that having a sense of purpose/direction makes you less easily influenced by other people. I really needed this video as I have devoted so much energy and time to just going along with what my friends were doing and doing things out of fear as well but we all have unique paths in our time on earth and thus unique purposes. I also love how you spoke about focusing on and finding your own passions and not putting what others are doing above what you want to do! And thank you for providing insight on gaining awareness early on the college app process and prioritizing the job over the major! As always, your content is super practical and informative!
Absolutely...finally someone said it! Growing up, the tale was that I loved both STEM and social sciences. It made it hard to settle on what major I would be studying next year. This year, I realized that my confusion probably did not stem from a clash of passions, but rather from rejecting my true passion, influenced by the stereotype that STEM was always superior to social sciences. My fixation on reaching the pinnacle of success, which I believed was reserved for those in STEM fields, was a sort of FOMO phase for me.
Thanks for the tips!! This video isnt long so it helps for my ahdh and give me good information! Also i agree with the fact that i follow others. There is a guy in my class who is an all rounder, so then i also wanted to be like him. Thanks for the tips. But its so hard to decide a job, this is because i love too many things. I am grateful my parents are supportive of anything i do. But i myself put pressure on myself for no reason.
I've been thinking about a major since forever and this video was just the thing I needed to see! Thanks for such informative videos(:
I agree being clear about your major and the related job is soo important . I have heard many people find problems related to their jobs later on because they choose their major without much thinking. Btw the video was awesome as always
I love the videos your videos! They’ve helped shift my mindset a lot
Thanks for being that big sis Amy. It really helps students to make the right decision for the futher . K ve you .❤❤❤

As a person who only has a few days until orientation for the start of 9th grade, im SO GLAD i found you in the perfect time!
I like the speed ups, nice touch.
I think this is the best video I've seen from you. I liked the information. My sister told me it's really just about having a passion that is something you just can't force.
i js started freshman year and ive been worrying sm cuz idk how to organize my future, this video and ur channel in general has helped me SOOOO MUCH ty 😢

I REALLY REALLY LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AND YOU! TYSM LOVE YA AMY! 🎀🩷
I know that this is out of topic😊😊 but I have commented on one of your videos before but I have been so BUSY studying for my MIDTERMS so I didn't really have anytime now that they are over i just want to thank you! Just a few months ago I was one of the worst students in my class I LITERALLY failed most of my tests and I barely studied. Since I was one of the top students last year my ,over confidence took the best of me AND GUESS WHAT?! I FAILED EVERYTHING and I got the lowest score in Math! this is not me! So I realised I had to do something but I didn't know where to start... So I found your channel AND YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH YOU HAVE HELPED Your tips are like Magic! I just don't know how to thank you enough! Now great news I DID SO WELL in my midterms!!! We just got the results back and well I got 1st rank and well I can't even get over the fact I GOT RANKED 3RD in MATH so all I want to say is thank you thank you thank youuuuu !!!!
THAT'S AMAZING!! You're so awesome - keep going!
Thank you sis.. for being the guide. Actually I am eldest one in my family and I am facing the same problems. Thank you for making it crystal clear ☺️

This was very helpful
Well, I am an Arab, and I started watching your video, which helped me greatly. I am in the third intermediate stage, and I am really thinking about what field I want. The rest of them were saying things like, “Why are you thinking about your future goals now?” and I was like, “I want to be good at following my goals and that.” Make it bigger, your clips made me feel very confident in what I do, Really thanks ❤
Thank you so so much Amy for making those videos D> Never dared to think a youtube video could be that beneficial
Love your vids ❤❤❤you are just like 😊older sister!!
Thanks for being like my big sister and helping me learn all this! 🎉❤ I specifically loved the tip in which you talked about choosing a job. I feel like that's a big one. For a career in medicine, what clubs do you think are well-suited? Thank you 😊 💓
Thank you for your encouragement, as always! Amy mentioned research work in this video. Research will highlight your academic spike/peak and so you can choose a Biology or medicine related topic in high school you feel interested in and then do research in it. Always a great idea to find a mentor who has done research in that similar topic. Top US colleges value research a lot! Hope this helps. Stay blessed.
Thank you ❤❤

It's a process and it might not be fun if you get in cool put that on your resume. It just improves their reputation not your's unless if you work for them. I had no clue what I wanted to do so I chucked myself into a Major and now I want to switch and people say it's ok to switch take time to find what your passionate about. No do things now or else your wasting your life.
Thanks ❤❤❤

This is so true. I didn't even know what my major (EE) does until I'm in my 2nd year of undergrad. It took me 6 years (undergrad + master) to figure out what I really want to do. (I did my masters at Caltech and just got into Caltech's PhD this week.) Hopefully future me still agrees with present me
Congratulations for getting into Caltech's PhD programme! My prayers for your success! You got it! This comment put a smile on my face! Thank you for sharing an interesting perspective! I look forward to reading your perspectives on Amy's upcoming content too and how your journey progresses! Stay blessed.
I have a request! Can you make a video about how to present ? And also how to make a presentation?
Wow, My new favorite video from you. We sure do appreciate all your videos. Ill might use those 5 tips, Mostly tip 5 since I believe its the best one. Keep up the good work!!!! 😊
YAY I appreciate you too! Glad you liked the tips :D
Wamy this video was amazing and helped me figure out the major problem in my like. The FOMO, can you please make a more in-depth video about the ' fear of missing out ' please?
Thanks for watching! Nice video suggestion. Stay blessed.
Thanks for the suggestion - I will be discussing this throughout my future videos :)
Great video. Which state are you from
I want to do research in physics and, of course, to adquiere knowledge in engineering fields. I'm an international student (Latin American country) so some tech opportunities are not available to me (although there are some very good extracurriculars, they are just a few). Because of that, I am focusing on olympiads, denying some extracurriculars like MUN, debate clubs and stuff like that. I do volunteering, but I don't know if doing activities that are not directly related to my interests will do any good. I feel like I'm missing opportunities :(
thank you so so much amy! i have two questions tho- if you haven't decided your career, what are some generic extra curricular activities for a good cv? and how important is it to have sport-related achievements? as of now i am only doing karate as a proper sport while others i just play for fun so do i have to participate in more sports?
They don't have to be generic! Just try anything that peaks your interest and once you find your passions, work on getting achievements in them!

THANK YOU Amy! I think that these types of videos are great. I am going to start picking my classes for high school in a few weeks and I am unsure of what classes to take. Again thank you! 🪻
Peace be upon you. WELCOME to this amazing community here we call the A-Team and thank you for being a part of it! What subjects/classes are you interested in? Perhaps STEM focused subjects along with some humanities? I read another comment of yours on Amy's video on this channel in which you mentioned you want to go to Caltech! Awesome! Caltech is AMAZING! You can do it! Put in the effort and surround yourself with positivity! You got it! Highly encourage you to watch the following 8-part vlog series by Amy that shows her life at Caltech: kzhead.info/channel/PLi341Q2n2bTX6hTe0QuFNDWH0UIt_IMKW.html&feature=shared To get into Caltech, you need to have excellent grades and extracurriculars and a high SAT or ACT score. Regarding guidance to ace academics, I'll refer you to my words on the pinned comment on the following video by Amy because I have written that guidance related to academics very carefully in that pinned comment and you'll definitely find it to be helpful to ace academics and to balance your academic subjects: kzhead.info/sun/oLOTgt2xn3d9m4U/bejne.htmlfeature=shared Regarding extracurriculars, carefully choose the extracurriculars you're doing and go for the ones which belong to your "main" interest and which highlight your spike/peak in your chosen main interest. This will also help you prioritize which extracurriculars matter the most to highlight your spike/peak to US colleges, as well as help you in time management since you'll be focusing only on those extracurriculars which are helping you define your spike/peak for your main interest. To know more about this concept, I highly encourage you to watch the following video by Amy and read my pinned comment on it carefully and save it if you want: kzhead.info/sun/dLaHfpugj6iAnok/bejne.htmlfeature=shared Feel free to save those comments for later use if you want. And let me know here after reading my words if they helped you or if you have any more questions! Stay blessed.

Miss Wamy but what if I want to do mechanical engineering in the future (I am still in high school ) ,but cannot think of any idea to research about for many months for a competition , but did well in art 🎨 competitions . But I am also good in fixing electronics and understanding how they work . I am very confused on what I should do .
Get the calculus book, chemistry, physics for engineering book, differential equation and linear algebra for self study in engineering. Collect a schaum outline book and arts is best as a hobby.
not 4 years of high, five years in canada. 8 years in elementary
Hey! Im going to give entrance tests for colleges in a few months...could you make some college tips videos?
Amy already has a lot of videos on this channel regarding US college admissions! Check out the following one: kzhead.info/sun/eJl9ddOjm3-hZ6M/bejne.htmlfeature=shared Stay blessed.
Hey wAmy, I'm actually Indian and I want to join mit for ai or aerospace engineering. I just started 10th grade and I've been seeing a lot of criteria required for admissions in these top universities. In India, you don't really have AP classes. But I do have the option of self study and give AP exams through a third party. Should I really do it? Plus how do I mention my extracurricular? Because at my school there aren't any programmes that feature my interest...
Someone to tell me things I need to know a president appreciate

That's okay!! What I mean is that they all have to be meaningful in some way to show the person you are. They can be tied together with your eagerness to learn. Perhaps piano can help you get good at being agile related to soccer and you want to be well-spoken and knowledgeable thus like debate and science bowl :)

No jobs cares what college you go to. People try so hard to get into a “top” college for what though lol. Idk man.
It definitely helps for certain fields like medicine, law, engineering, and more. It also helps you network and get certain opportunities that aren’t available at other colleges. People make excuses for why it’s not worth it to try because they are just too lazy and jealous they can’t go there. Keep on hating bud
@@JKsmoove3 I’m not one of those people. I could go to Stanford but why. Like 20 years later it won’t matter.
@@JKsmoove3 my personal opinion.
They have a good reason to want to go to schools like that as it just sets them up for a successful future.
