  • hi AlpineFD, i'm planning to drive in osaka-nara-kobe-kyoto and hakone. I might encounter these kind of parking lots. What is the procedure and type of conversation will i encounter? Mind to share?

  • What if several people want to take their car out at the same time? This takes WAY too much time!!

    • several people wouldn't be able to park there, that's the point of having this system that raises cars off the ground, but yes patience is a good thing

  • Why do you have to wait until all empty (or filled with other cars) slots are passed? This is very counterproductive and time consuming. Very bad architecture.

    • it does have that drawback, but the plus side is that it's more compact. Compactness is priority in Japanese cities.

    • maybe because people come and go at different times, some park for 30 mins, some 2 hours, etc, if two people come together but one leaves a lot sooner than the other, that explains the empty slot left behind
