Still building my new 3d printer from lasercut steel parts I designed, I want now to replace the T8 acme rods of the Z axis with ballscrews. Spent more on parts and upgrades than 2 MK3s (I have better electronics and steppers than MK3S)

Mmm now that's the good stuff. Spent almost all my time the past month and a half designing a printer I don't even know if I can afford, dreaming of a beautiful day when I can.
Took me longer than I care to admit to realize what day it was.

Hey now, my Mendel has served me well for the last seven and a half years! ...admittedly, when I bought my Anet 2 years ago the massive jump in the advanced technology that is *LCD screen* was so blinding that it wasn't until last summer when I got my Prusa that I truely realised just how reliable the tech is nowdays. Man, I thought a printer with a screen was good - who'd have thought they could actually just... you know, work?!

Yea ... got the Box Frame i3 back then (self made wood box frame) which boosts noise to the extreme. Could hear the printer through the ceiling. Neighbours asked what that strange noise might be that seem to come from our part of the house ... Dont want to go back there :D
I need to get my hands on some of that double-sided glass.
It's actually 6 sided but 4 of the sides are practically unusable.
My glass only has one side, maybe ordering from wish was a mistake

You guys built and calibrated a Prusa Mendel with i3 colors for the sake of an April Fool's joke. I'm not even mad, that's actually really impressive.
It's hard job but also fun to convert that printer to our colors ;-)

Well, actually, that's the case for me lol. Already got lost of interest on printing the whole Thingiverse. Working on a custom build printer atm. Takes more time to reinvent the wheel than actually printing. Nevertheless, I love it.

I just got ender 3 V2 and it's printing fine right after assembly, but I heard some horror stories about first version... But not as bad as Anet
Made the mistake of ordering a CR-10 V3. It printed fine for two weeks before going to shit. Now I feel like it develops a new issue with every other print, of which maybe 1 in 5 are of acceptable (ish) quality. I've wasted so much time trying to fix it over this last year, and I've not been able to sell anything from it as it doesn't produce acceptable quality. I just printed a small part 15 times with tweaks to get 2 that were usable. I'm hoping the XL is good, I'd like to get into Prusas, as they seem to work. I'm fine with 90% printing and 10% (if that) problem solving over 90% problem solving and 10% printing.

This is by far one of the best April Fools announcements I've seen since the Google Morse Code keyboard.
I just nearly got a heart attack, because i got a shipping notification on 8am this morning for my mk3s and really thought the MK4 was out, at 12am today. Thanks for fooling me. 😉. Looking forward for my new, NOT already outdated toy.

Fantastic, A+, Masterpiece. The whole video had me questioning how are these upgrades until I saw the contraption. Waiting in line for my second vaccination in the rain and it's cold and windy, but this made the wait so much better

April fools aside, it is really amazing how well my Mk3s works compared to the i3 clone I built like 7 years ago. And I actually got good prints on that (the glass bed never failed me) but I really enjoy *not* tinkering with my printer anymore. You guys rock. :)

whether there will be an upgrade of the slicer. There is a huge support problem right now. The gap along the Z axis is programmatically set and does not correspond to the physical gap on the printed model.
When you forget its that time of the year and get super excited. Even wondered should I cancel my order for this next big thing.
Oh man, I just had flashbacks to our old conversations in the RepRap IRC back in the day when a Wades and 3MM filament was the bee's knees. Next year you should troll with a launch of the Prusa CupCake with Conveyor Belt, or a Prusa Darwin using wooden corner blocks, and a cable drive extruder... Oh the memories this brought back. I bought an old Mendel Makergear kit off ebay. God you really see how much its changed. People went to hardware stores to build their printer and made hot ends out of scrap. To be fair Prusa, your still running the same cpu on the mk3+ as the old Mendel.
