  • As a retired Recon Marine, I can tell you there was more realism in this short film than most any Hollywood " special operations" movie I've seen.

  • I served 30 years in the US Military. 12 years Special Operations, 18 years in CSAR. This film was done extremely well. Looking in I have a few questions. 1. Where is the pilots vest? 2. How did that good guy ground team get there so fast. 3. How did their overwatch (sniper) get there? 4. A ground team would never give up his sidearm ever. 5. Once the team gets "hands on" they won't separate from him. He is the mission. Great job.

      @shade9272@shade9272Ай бұрын
    • @@shade9272 caveats: 4 year old opinion that said... 7,62x39mm is a pretty weaksauce threat. there are a LOT of hard armor inserts that defeat it quite comfortably. special forces have had fairly lightweight armor systems that perform to a very high standard. One instance is the case of Mike Day, Navy Seal, whose MH3 CQB apparently defeated some 11 hits during a breach. there's also a couple procurement programs for some really high spec armor that I remember. Nothing *insane* but they do provide pretty worldbeating performance at their weightpoint.

    • Patriotism is great but should be tempered with realism. I’m sure there’s a bunch oF Russians who would say the same thing. Fact is that the USA is a fine country with many, many fine people but it’s deeply flawed and blind patriotism and the inability to see the views of others made it so.

      @theofarmmanager267@theofarmmanager267 Жыл бұрын
    • @@theofarmmanager267 I respect your opinion and under the 1A you’re absolutely entitled to it. I differ with you however, I believe while we are a flawed country we are the best. By this I mean yes, we are an imperfect country, but there is no “perfect country or unflawed” country. Every nation has its problems past and present. My patriotism is not blind, but tempered in history and the realization that there other countries other than ours that have greater flaws . The word flaws can mean different things and to each individual, it means different things. I submit to you if you go to any other country and speak out against the government, some of those countries won’t take you lightly. I believe that the US is the greatest experiment in human history. Thankfully, I can express these ideas in public.

      @chadmccormick1412@chadmccormick1412 Жыл бұрын
    • @@chadmccormick1412 I’d certainly agree that no country is perfect; with many countries being much nearer a disgrace - to their own citizens and other countries. However, what I think many people find disturbing is the perceived arrogance and hypocrisy. America felt justified in invading Iraq, Afghanistan and even Grenada because it apparently felt it’s power was/would be compromised whilst Russia gets (rightly) condemned by other countries and America for its action in invading Ukraine. Arrogance by a superpower seems almost inevitable - Great Britain had it in spades when it fought its way to the British Empire - but that doesn’t make it wrong to condemn it. I’d suggest most Europeans are more socialist (in the non- political definition) in their views on helping the less fortunate; there seems to me (as someone who has visited many times and worked for a spell over there) an attitude to the poorest that those unfortunates have to make opportunities work. I just don’t think any country could or should claim being the greatest whilst it has such a high percentage of economically-defined poor and the largest (as a % of population) number of people in jail.

  • Outstanding movie! I especially like the CSAR Aircrews as they fly into hell and back to rescue downed pilots and aircrews. The Special Forces personnel are super bad ass as they have a dangerous in your face with the enemy exchange. The Apache AH-64E Gunships are very lethal and the camera system is so great as you cannot hide yourself that easily. I would live to see a part two sequel to this one using Pararescue Aircrews and Combat Tactical Controlers. Top job to all cast and film personnel. I would say the Joint Chiefs of Staff in The Pentagon would definitely sit up and take notice. These real life people who serve in harms way for all of us are the heroes of this modern day! Freedom is not free! Lest We Forget!

This was so good that I'd rate in the Lone Survivor category-if not a little higher. The uniforms, tactics, optics, weapons, weapon sounds, language(Russian and English), military jargon, radio chatter, night vision, IR lasers, heat images, vehicles, bullet impacts, and explosions, etc were on point and incredibly done. I could watch this many times over. I felt the emotions and the intensity of each scene. The music was perfect for each part, and the camera work was incredible. You most certainly did your dedication to those that have given the ultimate sacrifice justice and you should be proud of that fact. I can't wait to see the next chapter! Keep it up guys! 😃

    • i wouldn't call dunkirk a good movie. hollywood doesn't care about making good movies. they would be happy remaking spiderman for the 4th or 5th time with the latest new hearth throb for teenie boppers. and to mention deadwood, great show, yet again it shows that hollywood is a bunch of idiots to cancel it.
