I didn't even know Classic was still playable. When it shut down I moved over to Classicube. Minecraft Classic was my childhood and you can't recapture that magic from the simplicity in newer versions.

Just wanted to say thank you for shining more light on ClassiCube. I've been with the community since 2010 and I've certainly seen the game's highs and lows. I woke up yesterday morning expecting the usual 10 or so players on and was delighted with the sight of 60 users on NA2 at one time! The video is well-constructed and showcases that ClassiCube is so much more than just a Minecraft classic remake. Hopefully some of these players stick around and keep the community alive for even longer!

Thank you very much for making this video, it makes me so happy seeing this! Grew up playing ClassiCube for years! 10 years to be exact, right after World of Minecraft was taken down. ClassiCube has one of the most wholesome and welcoming communities ever. Having no money and weak pc growing up, Minecraft Classic was the only way I could play Minecraft, so I basically grew up playing countless hours of Zombie apocalypse and freebuild. Good old days!

The old textures were a lot more vibrant, kind of a huge shift compared to the textures today
I feel like this is off topic but this reminds me of the early days of MCPE, like versions 0.1.0 - 0.6.1. They felt like Minecraft classic.

After they shut down Minecraft Classic in like 2013/2014 I always craved more Classic. There was nothing like it. I stumbled upon ClassiCube in 2016 and been playing it ever since. We've always joked about 'man, when is AntVenom gonna make a video on this so we get more players'. Well, seems like another relatively big Minecraft creator came to save the day. :) The amount of dedication people like UnknownShadow200 put into creating this game and the server plugins like MCGalaxy is absolutely insane. It's completely open source, too.

All the art on the walls at 7:30 looks sick. Also the minigame Smileisyou (I think) is inspired by another puzzle game called Baba is you. Really cool game to check out

The feel is unmatched, I may be a really lucky late zoomer 009, but I was able to experience this minecraft era since I was very young. I booted up the pc, installed the client, went on free build and I not only built a weird dirt block with tentacles and a tree on top but I also was able to appreciate the culture and the nostalgia with the amazing Minecraft ost in the background. Thx bud, for all of this awesome stuff that you show us!

Fyi, Small is You (or whatever the name of that small minigame was) is a Minecraft recreation of Baba Is You, an indie puzzle game that is while the brain breaker and has a huge modding community with many puzzle packs and creative ideas. You should check it out!

I remember trying Minecraft classic for the first time on the 10 year anniversary on the Minecraft website and I can’t believe how far this game has come. Since Minecraft Classic the game has become one of the best video games in the world and I’m happy I got to experience Classic the same way many people did when Minecraft was just a Browser game but I’ll stick to modern Survival Minecraft cuz that’s more fun in my opinion

ClassiCube is amazing. There's this server called New Blood [Zombie Survival] that I've been hooked to, and the zombie survival skills I have attained over the years allowed me to outmaneuver the guys who were blocking the doorway when I was being bullied in the school toilets.
I used to play NA2 so much, and I loved it a lot. I like how detailed it is, as well as how many Easter eggs and small secrets the server has.
The first version I played after discovering MC in the Infdev days. In spite being outdated, it was a good free demo. I love that this version continues to live on.

I started in Classic around June 2011, on the Opticraft server, eventually became staff. Good times were had, and good friends were met. Still play with them to this day.
When I was like 10 years old in like 2012, 2013, I remember playing the mc classic in the browser because I couldn't play mc anywhere else. I remember the multiplayer servers and looking at different worlds and sometimes building in them and chatting with people

It's nostalgic because it's an old version of minecraft with a lot of the same vibes as ever. But this is still an active game in the modern day. Are you really so dense to think there aren't going to be modern references?
Even way back I basically never joined servers, didn't know they existed or just weren't interesting to me. I vaguely remember the first server I found and joined from planet minecraft, I couldn't get out of the spawn city, found a path under the city which led me out and I'd travel along a route I found. Founded a little town which had some residents before it got grirfed which I left the server then and didn't join another server for quite a while.
Makes you wonder what Minecraft would be like today if Notch continued developing Classic...

i forgot how i found out about classicube but i started around 2022 maybe like may but idk i used it because it was a way to play it on android and with like better fps than some modern versions on pc when on 1.5gb ram on android compared to 4gb ram on pc(i think beacuse it uses directx) i havent played it as much recently but ive still played sometimes in 2023 and 2024 this is cool that you made a video on it too :) edit: id forgotten/didnt know that classicube was that old too(and jacobs ctf server too ive played there a few times and am not great but ok at it but i just checked some screenshots and some guy named sour_lemon said im pretty good(not quoted ok lol) and subelectronite(both are pretty good) said (quote) "we have thensi we win" end of this part)

I used to play Opticraft Java SMP server as a kid, most of the traffic used to come from classic, but once it was removed the java server died.. Still got a bunch of builds on it, so nostalgic

MC Classic servers were such a special time for me man.. I remember finding new servers all the time just to build on, and become a mod/admin and hunt griefers. Sometimes even becoming a mod griefer myself and being able to hide my own griefs on the server side so ppl couldnt see that I broke their blocks with the plugin looool such good times cant forget lava survival and zombie survival

I kinda like the sudden resurgence of old minecraft versions (I myself play BTA and ReIndev these days) I hope it'll be a kind of wakeup call of modern minecraft devs to stop being so restrictive in their update goals

Yay! Classicube. Its so good and runs on windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, XP etc
it even runs on the Sega Dreamcast!
One other really nice thing about classicube is the fact that it's written in C instead of Java. Not only does this help with performance, but there are many ports allowing you to play it on other operating systems and even some game consoles (via homebrew).
I can see this as a few nails removed from the classic coffin.
I have very fond memories of playing that lava flow game on Minecraft’s website! I spent years on there before I bought minecraft, I always preferred the classic but thought it was long gone. To know all this now is really cool! Thanks :)

I honestly thought that people never played classic anymore and seeing what they built and how many people play it is really interesting and cool to me
I started in October 2010. Originally I only bought the Alpha version so I could have access to a skin in classic. Classic was similar to modern creative and fly hacking was allowed on most servers. The concept of switching to a barebones survival game where you had to get your own blocks made no sense to many at the time. It's funny to see team9000 at 1:18 because that was the first server I ever played on.
I remember playing classic cube a few years ago. It is very cool and i'm happy it gets more recognition.

Thank you for allowing me to relive a small element of my youth. You mentioning Lava survival threw me even deeper into the nostalgia, since that is the game mode me, my friends and my brother played hours on end

Hello have you found a way to fix your Minecraft connectivity it is possible that your internet does not work with the your computer. The wylan cards may be the problem in these devices.
