The subtle differences in the sakura d5 platform between the v1 and v2 models.
Important to note that the v2 kit comes with all changes however with about $10 in shims, all of you v1 owners can too have the same great setup as all of the v2 drivers!

@@ScaleScience yeah it worked I feel like you gave me blue balls LMAO 😂😂😂
@@ScaleScience yup ,you got me to ,so you get a new sub and a like
Does the d5 have adjustable rear toe? I see no toe arms. Thank you
Im telling people to get V2... it’s really great out of the box
Im so sad, i bought v1 version! :/ Because don't have v2 in Aliexpress haha. Only in the Aliexpress they are export to my country
@@RyanSilvaNB you shouldn’t need it! The v1 can do almost everything the v2 can do with a little drilling and get a $10 shim kit from ali lol!
@@ScaleScience can you post which shim kit please
@@noelmurillo6360 just get a various size kit. Some .5, 1, 2 & 3 will cover you! Our in-depth tuning guide is coming Sunday!
Yaa
I just got a D4 carbon hardly used but missing some parts, is it worth it to make road ready or buy the d5 right away and start from therw, I am new to rc drifting but have been basing 1/10 offroad for years
Unless you have easy access to new and used parts for the d4, the d5 or something more current would absolutely be the right move. You’ll be much happier starting out with a d5 imo. The d4 required some knowledge outside of the instruction manual that ended up giving poor and improperly setup cars to the masses whom were frustrated with them and ditched them for in most cases yokomos or mst’s. With proper setup a d4 can rip but the d5 will allow you to find parts / hop ups and other needed items easier plus theirs a huge following behind the d5 already so the support is there should you not have a home track to visit and gain local knowledge.
@@ScaleScience thank you wery much for all this info i did not know all this, are all these brands you mentioned similar in aftermarket support and relaiability? Are they alls aliexpress cars?
@@dvergaklam101 do yourself a big favor and stay off Ali express man, too many knock offs and clones cars. Check out Rc Mart if you’re not in the US. Depending on your location there’s lots of places to buy a quality kit.
@@ScaleScience will do thank you , will be subscribing for further updates
Have you seen folks drifting the V1 vs V2 to see any performance difference?
Not really anyone locally on the v1 setup anymore. Mine is slightly different then book setup and is originally from a guy on the sakura brotherhood FB page who figured out the flip and some other changes made the functionality of the front end much better. Outside of that, setup will be needed per track so not everything is cookie cutter and go but it’s close enough
@@ScaleScience Ok, I'm just looking to get into RWD drift as a hobby at home (garage) or on a play ground. No competition. This would be an upgrade to my Tamiya TT-01 with drift tires.
@@IronT0Steel it works great in that environment. Just be ready to do some tweaks to get it perfect. It’s a great platform
Im about to try RC cars if it fits me, but this keeps bugging me, do chassis comes with its own controller?
Ready to run chassis do, most kits do not.
@@ScaleScience do u know some kits that does have one? I dont wanna spend extra money on a controller
@@moonface69 kits don’t Usually have electronics. Ready to runs would. Yokomo or mst make ready to runs, otherwise you’ll have to buy a controller. Heads up though the rtr controllers are mediocre at best.
Thare are a lot of aluminium ones on ebay for about 120€ are they legit
No sir, most of them are clones now. While cones can work, they hurt everyone involved. It hurts the sales of the real genuine article, that hurts the companies producing who then have less funding to invest into the next rendition. #dontsupportclones
@@ScaleScience Thank you. But i cant seem to find the original availibel anyware (Located in Germany) do you have any tips?
Shoot, I just bought a v1, not the end of the world though
you got this! simple changes!
@@ScaleScience I’m just going to run it how it is until I feel the need I it needs more performance
