Shayne’s depth as a human is what made me enjoy Smosh more… I remember them showing up at his apartment one time and seeing how well read he is. As someone else who LOVES reading and thinks it, more than anything else, can develop a person, that was nice to see :) he’s genuine, intelligent, and over the top absurd. Love him!

Shayne is probably the reason why I continued watching smosh. He's surely a big factor in making Smosh survive its darkest hours. He's been a trooper, and has given me countless laughs. Thank you Shayne!
Yeah, I think the pressure of being constantly funny for so many years really deserves prise, he maintains that attitute that makes him so entertaining to watch as well and dedicates a lot of time to Pit, Games and streaming
I don't know if you saw it in the Roasting with Memes video on Smosh, but someone at smosh (can't remember who) made a meme that was "Smosh at 100% power" and it was the whole cast, and then "Smosh at 90% power" and everyone was cropped out except for Shayne. Obviously I think that's a little hyperbolic, but I don't think it's a stretch at all to say that Shayne absolutely carries Smosh on his back, or at least during their darker times. I love the entire cast, but Shayne is undeniably so talented at making memorable characters, and he's just absolutely hilarious. Some of Smosh's most famous bits/characters come from Shayne.
Especially after the Smosh Games crew left. They were the majority of what I watched. Once they were gone I mainly watched for Shayne, Damien and Courtney.

shayne was the first person i gravitated towards when i went back to smosh after anthony left, and it's been so cool to watch him grow into a pillar of smosh. he's such an incredible performer, love seeing what he does now & excited to see what he does as his career continues!
I wasn't aware of Smosh back in the day (something about not wanting to do popular stuff as a teenager 😂). Shayne was the reason I got into Smosh last year. His charisma just pulled me in.
Anyone that has kept up with smosh after anthony left knows how critical and talented Shayne is. He’s remained imo one of the funniest people on all of KZhead while remaining a humble and nice guy.
I remember back in middle school I stopped watching Smosh before Anthony left but I’d watch The Goldbergs around the same time and it was weird as fuck to see Shayne in it, but I really enjoyed him in both those things. He’s a really charismatic actor

You are not only hilarious, but you are genuinely sweet and care sooo much about getting to know each cast and crew member. I see how invested you are in other people. Man, at the beginning, when Anthony started listing all the eras Shayne went through, I got so sad. These people carried Smosh through it's darkest times but they were so underappreciated because people were blinded with nostalgia of old Smosh. Damien! People are slowly forgetting how awesome he his. His humour is right up my alley, sometimes the others don't really catch on to it, but I wish he had his own series where we could hear his opinions and more of him talking. He's a proper gem.

I almost teared up when Anthony at the end says that Shayne has kept the true meaning of Smosh there all along by just having fun with friends on camera. It's so true and that's what makes Smosh so special. Especially the cast now. You can see how close everyone is with each other and from Ian and Anthony to Chance and Angela. (the newest cast members) Everyone just puts a big smile on my face!
I've loved seeing Chanse, Angela, Amanda, and Arasha bond with the older cast. Shayne and Amanda have become SO close, and I think Chanse and Damien really play so well off each other. Angela and Courtney are so much fun to watch together (like today's Reddit stories!) and I love seeing Arasha and Ian play off each other (and I hope we get to see a lot more, they're both so deadpan and I love it). I think Shayne and Damien, Courtney and Olivia, and Keith and Noah kind of started that trend (after Ian and Anthony, of course) of people being besties on Smosh

Shayne seriously rules, him being popular enough to have his own thing going, but just not doing it because being around the others is just too fun... is so genuine and heartwarming. Jeez. Im floored. Massive talent and heart. Courtney and him kept the dream alive, now Amanda and Angela are also just such fun stand-outs. This era is peak.
I think I prefer current Smosh to the nostalgia Smosh era from my childhood. Which is very very high praise. I feel like they have really mastered their formula
I’m glad that Shayne is getting some flowers. He’s clearly a comedy powerhouse, and very hardworking and loyal, but he also just seems like a genuinely kind person. I’m sure success will find him whatever he gets up to, but I’m glad it’s Smosh right now :)
Shayne is so right about his physicality when it comes to the impressions he does. It’s just as important as sounding like the person. Also, so glad he’s stuck through all of those lows. He truly has been the face of Smosh for a whole new generation of people and that kind of pressure is intense.

I don’t know if Shayne was holding back tears but when he was speaking it really made me cry. Like… I remember that scene of the office when Jim says that the documentary people gave them the blessing of being able to actually look back into their lives. And we can see all that with Shayne, Anthony, and the rest of the Smosh crew. They’re all incredible people and it’s awesome to see how far they have all grown.

I agree that if Shayne left, it would be on par with Anthony leaving. Especially if you compare the audience's attachment to them. I can say, for me personally, I am much more attached to Shayne now than I was to Anthony back then, but I didn't watch Smosh that much leading up to that. But others did. And realistically, Anthony being part of the duo certainly had more of a potent impact. Shayne and Courtney feel like the consistent two of the cast over the last 6 years. We saw them way more than Ian. So, if either of them left, I'd be pretty upset.
After finding out Spencer has been at smoth for 10 years I kinda want to see an interview of him next.

I respect everything that Shane has done (as he is my favorite cast member), he is a multi talented individual that has brought so much to Smosh & has helped kept it alive alongside Courtney & Ian. Not trying to discredit the other team members who have helped with keeping the channel alive of course but I feel like having those 3 people at the forefront and all the sacrifices they made have paid off in a big way.

AITA with Shane reading is absolutely my favorite side show that they do. I love it. I wish they ‘d do more. I think I’ve seen them all.
I don’t think Shayne realizes how important he has been to the fabric of Smosh. I started watching Smosh about two months before Anthony left, so I only really know “post-Anthony” Smosh. Shayne has easily become one of the most important members of Smosh, and seeing him in videos makes it go to another level. It’s so great to see him get to talk about his experiences as though he is a valued member, and it’s been so great to see how involved he has been on and off camera.
For those who haven't noticed, the extra gravy that makes Shayne's Tom Cruise impression seem so uncanny is that he shares Cruise's centre front tooth. Love Shayne. I really think he's one of my favourite entertainers on this platform. I'd like to think he'd make a good friend.

The many times that I’ve desperately needed a laugh during hard times, I would go to any video with Shayne and Courtney. Their characters and humor really helped me out when I needed it and I cannot say enough about how much i appreciate them.

i think anthony articulated it perfectly, beyond ‘old smosh’ and ‘new smosh’ there’s really just one core part of the brand that keeps it afloat and so entertaining which is the magic of them just wanting to make their friend(s) laugh. shayne truly has been a key player in keeping that alive, you can tell it’s truly a company built on mutual respect, adoration, and family
Shayne is one of my main role models in life. Everything I’ve heard him talk about is just so insightful. What a gem that man is to humankind!
The one thing that I love most about you Anthony is your emotional intelligence or empathy. Your way of communication and way of feeling through every emotion within the room resonates with me and I'm glad that over the last 10 years of watching Smosh, this is the person you've become whom I've witnessed. I already commented about Shayne on this video and he's amazing in so many different ways but I just felt like this characteristic of yours is not appreciated nearly enough so I wanted to tell you in case you read this. Proud of you guys man. It almost feels like we grew up together; as if I was the kid at your neighbour's who witnessed you from afar. Again, so proud of you.

Shayne is the one entertainer I personally always gravitate toward. I think he was born for this job, and I truly believe Smosh wouldn't be the same without him. I could listen to him do impressions, make up characters, or laugh at himself for hours. And on top of being immensely funny and able to make a whole room laugh so naturally, you can see he is just a very intelligent and sensible person. In Reddit stories and whenever he talks about his personal experiences on podcasts or other occasions, you can see he expresses himself very well and is a very kind person. I would watch anything this guy does, truly. So much talent!! ❤️ Keep doing what you're doing, Shayne! 🙌

30 videos a week is insane. the fact that almost no one comments on how tired he looks or seems on all those videos is a miracle considering all of that! im proud of shayne for slowly improving on setting boundaries and caring for himself. i also didnt know he moved to LA when he was only 16!! the fact that he is such a well rounded, grounded human being is amazing and i hope over time he comes to believe in himself more 💛 also creating such memorable, quotable characters is a skill that not many have. the fact that shayne has so many is a testament to the talent he has and the hard work he puts in
Shayne and Damien really are the nicest and best at Smosh, they’re the glue and I freaking love Shayne and how he was able to be open and vulnerable with Ian and it’s great to have Ian back because I think they can go even further with the brand like Apps and maybe a better movie or maybe a gag book. Shane is just so incredible, this man is just so special and I can hardly even find words to describe how much I understand what he says. We all love Shane and are so proud of EVERYTHING he has done. Meeting him is a dream for him and it will happen one day.
Shayne definitely has and is my favorite smosh member. Him and Spencer especially have really helped me during the the time in my life where the verbal and physical abuse from my father got progressively more violent and frequent. Thanks man, hopefully you see this. Welcome back Anthony. You being back brings back the good memories I had with my brother before he unfortunately abandoned us and he lost himself in his own depression and addiction. Sap story is over. Ian and Anthony have always been wonderful at finding talented people, and Shayne is definitely one of them. Shayne is so talented, kind, funny, and genuinely a wonderful person. I’m so glad he’s stuck with Smosh and to see him grow over the past 8 years has been amazing

The Smosh cast is such a great cast. I was a Smosh fan before them, but they have become some of my favorite internet personalities. Especially Shayne.
Shayne's talent is unbelievable. There are people who can act, there are people who can be funny, there are people that can be youtubers. People who can do just one of these are rare enough... Shayne is the whole package and does it while being genuine and likeable.
It makes sense re: enjoying when people love your characters. Its your art, sharing your art with people feels SO VULNERABLE, and it's wonderful when they respond positively.
Yeah, I relate to that with my programming and my writing. When I code up a game that people like, or when I write a poem or story people give positive feedback on, it means so much more to me than if people just tell me they like me. Because it's like, everyone has someone who likes them, but this is *something I made* and there's no guarantee it's any good. To find out it is, and that the thing you made brought joy to someone else, is an amazing feeling.

From my heart, watching Shayne being goofy and having fun with his friends has helped me through some tough times in my life. To this day I'll rewatch particular videos that had me rolling on the floor, and I find the same amount of joy in them, no matter if it's the 100th time I'm watching it. And I love the creative freedom on Pit, allowing all the talents to be their authentic selves. Thank you to all members of smosh, you are the most genuine and kind people on all of KZhead ❤

Shayne is such a big, impactful reason of why I kept watching Smosh over the years that Anthony left. I’ve been watching Smosh since the early Ian and Anthony days, and the transition to different phases of the brand has been more seamless with Shayne on board. Thanks for the interview Anthony, and to Shayne for accepting! He does a great job with characters but it’s always nice to see the IRL version of him. Must be why his Reddit story series is such a refreshing part of the channel! Good luck tonight with the roasts, you guys will kill it!!

After Smosh stopped focusing on Ian and Anthony, Shayne’s been the face of the channel for over half a decade now, glad he’s getting the respect he deserves, no matter if he doesn’t like to hear it.
being able to watch shayne grow into the man he is today is just wild. the most humble, down to earth and absolutely fucking hilarious person. i love that he studied psychology and mentions wanting to be a therapist. we need more people that care about people in media. glad hes getting the recognition he deserves! 🥳

I haven't been a fan of smosh for all that long but Shayne describing how he feels lucky and Anthony giving him such well earned commendations actually made me quite emotional! I think Smosh is definitely in a fantastic rennaissance at the momsnt, they really caught lightning in a bottle with such a talented cast that work so well and enjoy working together. Looking forward to seeing everything that's still to come!
I was waiting for this episode, Shayne is such a charismatic guy but seems very down to Earth and is an important part of Smosh surviving through the hard times.
It's really amazing that Anthony did this interview. Shayne has been the face of Smosh since Anthony left. It's awesome to see Anthony recognize and appreciate his efforts while he was gone to now.
Shayne is my acting inspiration, he helped me through some tough times, and I'm so glad A-dog made this interview. I wish both of you luck in this new era of smosh and to future videos the both of you make!!!
While of course the others contributed to Smosh after Anthony left, it’s undeniable that Shayne is the main reason Smosh didn’t go under. Without Shayne’s iconic characters, over the Topp humor, and over all good vibes Smosh would never of been able to continue. For Shayne to have such self doubt and be so humble is such a feat and he deserves the respect and credit he’s given. I wonder if he truly can’t see his worth? Just his laugh in the background of videos gets more attention than anything else done in them. And this isn’t to hate on the other cast. I enjoy most of them. Just an outside observation of the sheer numbers his presence alone makes. I think it’s was Tommy’s roast when he said “I hope they add Shayne to the thumbnail so people actually watch” Angela has mentioned since she’s started “Shayne’s impact” especially on the video her and Amanda do together where they are seeking his approval when he’s behind camera. I know it might be awkward for him to acknowledge. But as an outside viewer who’s watched for about 4 or 5 years. Shayne is the face I associate with Smosh. More than even Ian and Anthony.
