  • as a KZheadr myself I just cannot FATHOM the stamina this man has - it is unreal. He played a super grueling tournament, got within an inch of winning and getting a very real shot a becoming the WORLD CHESS CHAMPION, "only" gets a draw in the last game and then - somehow - superhumanly - goes to make a video with in-depth analysis of the game RIGHT AWAY. Like right after that game. Just... HOW DOES HE HAVE THAT KIND OF STAMINA?!?! Congratulations to Hikaru for an impressive tournament, although I'm sure he mostly thinks he lost 1st place and not won 2nd place - still it is of course a very impressive performance.

    @ASMRChess@ASMRChess11 күн бұрын
    • it's impressive for sure, but of course he's just spent the whole day thinking about the game, so you'd have to think that in some ways the EASIEST time to record the recap is immediately after the game, while it's all fresh in his mind...

    @alirehman4294@alirehman429411 күн бұрын
    • "praises his opponent despite being in competition with him", tell me you never practiced any competitive sports without telling me. It's considered normal to respect your opponent in sports, that's the first thing they teach you no matter what sport one practices. Hikaru is everyone's champ because he is a goat at chess and not because he solely respects his opponent (which is considered normal). I'm reacting to you like this because I tend to believe I have seen in increasing amount of comments of anti-social people praising normal social behavior. People really do set the bar very low regarding social interaction nowadays.

  • Thanks for everything! Honestly, it affected me more than I expected, as I've never been the type to really get carried away in sports when it comes to rooting for someone, especially for someone I never even met (although I guess seeing someone for hundreds of hours on stream might bring that person a lot closer). Ultimately, I think that matters more in life, what you have meant to both the people around you and those you've never even met. So for me at least you are the true winner, maybe not of this Candidates cycle, but at least in life.
