Love the direction the channel has went in. The ufc picks and the aftermath q and a's are brilliant I hope this content continues
Only thing he needs to figure out is how to go full screen with the fight breakdown
@@ashleytaylor994 I'd like if he put the picks up at the end so I can secreenhot it for making bets haha
Loving the regularity more than anything, need to get Jimmy Smith in on it. His youtube channel has a surprisingly low pull.
I like how Dan accepts that his analysis was a bit biased cause he just couldn't connect with Usman's style. How often to do you analyst do that? Most of them just leave the issue and forces a new topic. Also that Fedor reference was funny as hell.
Agreed. Dan is definitely the best analyst. Goes deep, stays objective but conscious that one can only be objective up to a point.
Luke Thomas never makes those kinds of mistakes though, donk.
That’s why I bet on Usman lol it felt like hardy didn’t like Usman and I felt the bias through the screen. Dan still awesome.
@@FightThoughts Definitely. I called him on that in the Blaydes-Lewis war room analysis. At least he accepted that some things happened that he did not account for. He is still the best around though.
Totally agree, I came here to gloat too cuz I was so mad about how bias he was. Respect to him
“Put some respect on my name” - Mr.Usman He actually mentioned you in his post fight interview.
That makes sense. Dan sounded apologetic in this one. Borderline contrite. I wondered if something had been said.
Just a silly man and to imagine he was a fighter is ridiculous
@@jumpcaps1261 he was a good fighter and he’s an even better analyst.
Can't get them right every time. I was completely in agreement with Dan's breakdown before the fight. Thought Usmans's a very talented but ultimately safe fighter, who might not be able to handle pressure and skill on the feet and in grappling exchanges. I still think he'll only perform to just better than his opponent's level but you can't fault him for that really. The competition needs to improve. With this one though Burns showed that if you push him hard enough, he might just knock you tfo. He's shut a lot of people up, me included lol!
@@benalexander2104 In response to your second comment, I couldn't believe that he slept on Usman so much. The guy is incredible at making adjustments whether that's mental or physical. Not to mention the discipline he obtains, even the great mike Tyson himself notes that discipline is one of the greatest attributes a fighter can have, and without it he (Mike Tyson) wouldn't have been as dominant as he was. As for Usman and fighting safe, I mean its what gets you the win.If he's up 4 rounds why waste the 5th taking risks when you've put in the work already. Theres nothing wrong with being wise, it's the reason the Champ got as far as he did compared to a guy like dan (No offense dan you were great at what you did)... But why fight, and knowingly risk your health to lose? Lol idk that's just my opinion.
Wow the analysis of how the jab sets up the stinging right hand is so good
Dans the best.
@@detroittechno7904 Yeah man, really made it make sense
Yup like that wall analogy
@@justinsane1909 i was more thinking the feint and pull counter. High-level stuff
That's why Dan is that best in the game, the way he breaks things down is spectacular.
Usman's evolution as a fighter is beautiful and truly inspiring!
Him going to a different trainer to improve his game and get a different perspective was the right decision
I had two things to take away from this fight about Kamaru. He's got one hell of a chin, and a great fight IQ.
Burns really fucked up sitting on the floor waiting for Usman to be stupid. He did the right thing and fully recovered
@@dionysisdaras1289 Getting up is risky when your opponent's arms are nearly long as your legs
@@knowun Usman is patient and not much of a risk taker......i would assume he wouldn't overextend if Burns rolled back or smt
Both Colby Covington & Jorge Masvidal is the proof of his chin. Kamaru trading punch with those 2 guys & he come on top. Kamaru makes them looks like a pillow hands.
@@dionysisdaras1289 you're also smart for picking that moment , usman is well under rated .
Welp.. i just realized Kamaru's jab is what Michael Jai white was explaining to Kimbo on the set of Blood and Bone lol
Yup
Dan, my man, you have taught me so much about MMA and have made me a better fighter every time I watch, can’t thank you enough man. Also, your tangents are fantastic, they are some of your greatest bits, don’t ever stop going off the path!
"I'm sorry you got a weird look on your face mate" - Dan Hardy
Great analysis Dan Usman’s patience after the first knockdown, choosing to pick Gilbert apart instead of rushing him for the finish was master level!
Dan is one of the best analysts in the game, believe you me.
Believe you me podcast and Full Reptile is all the mma you need
Yeaaa he predicted this fight 80% wrongly... He basically slept on Usman🤦🏽♂️, still a good analyst though
I'm not deaf so I can't take your word for it.. his bourgeoisie attitude and shitty commentary made for terrible listening during fights
@@tell-it7649 kind of
Absolutely loved the immediate distinction towards the emotional side of the main event and what it’s outcome was from you Dan, superb insights as always. Literally 1 of the best that does this. 👊🏻
Omg as always Dan's breakdowns of these fights are complete therapy for me. I tend to lose track of time watching/listening to these.
This is easily one of the flat-out most illuminating, reflective and broadly useful analyses I've ever seen, frankly. Heck; it transcends fighting and can be useful generally in life.
Aftermath is my go to video I look for when I hop on KZhead looking for analysis
Man, I love when you go on rants. Don't apologize for it, keep doing it, lol.
Stfu
Same bro
One of yours best analysis Dan.
Excellent breakdown as always! Usman's jab was the third man in the octagon. The ref doesn't count.
Lol
This channel is fire 🔥🔥 I fucking love it. Dan Hardy’s brain is incredible for breaking down fights, there’s not even a close second
Can't believe I haven't watched your videos before. Stellar content here thank you.
Usman is unshakable. Doesn't matter who he is against, he is so focused on the fight and his own technique.
wow more regurgitated info. how useless.
@@twatlicker612 You got it, Mr or Miss Licker.
The mental side of usman is unnerving
It’s true, first noticed this when he fought Woodley. Before each round started Woodley looked like he was suffering, like he knew he was in for another hellish 5 minutes. Usman had a focused and confident look on his face that read as though he can do this all day.
intercepting fist/or kick is such a genius plan. bruce was a genius. as soon as u see burns loading up for a strike you intercept him with that jab. ping, ping, ping. great stuff.
Those 3 ‘pings’ landed too though 😂👍🏽 Beautiful analyses
I also notice alot of Usmans jabs here are now Vertical Fist, like most of Adesanya's punches. Much better mechanics and structure that way
Good point
Spot on
There's a video of Michael Jay White teaching that jab to Kimbo Splice, non telegraphed jab
Khabib vs Usman would indeed be the best technical skilled fighter matchup in our generation.. not to mention both have proved they are just built differently in terms of their mental aptitude in the fight game
Dan you are the man 👍🏻 These fight break downs are very spot on with you my guy, I really enjoy watching it when im too stressed at my office, I guess you’re helping me with these fight break downs
legit one of the best breakdowns ive ever seen
Great ! Thank you so much Dan for making that Aftermath Analysis !
Thank you, Dan. Another articulate and very insightful breakdown. As a fan of martial arts, it's amazing to have someone like yourself exploring high-level fights in the way that you do. I can't wait for the next one!
dan, you're a legend. thanks for this, and everything else you've given freely and taught benevolently. thanks for being real with yourself, about your self.
The best fight breakdown is this podcast. Thanks so much Dan Hardy!
Dan, this is always the best for Hardcore fans... you explain this so well and i truly appreciate you taking the time and talking fights with us. learn so much!
Usman callout in his post media speech, bound to happen when you pick a side, and sometimes you just gotta pick a side.
I get him everybody in MMA media following the same narrative and ignoring hard evidence. I see this all the time, the commentators say something, and now it's law, like Francis having bad take down defense (he got the same as Stipe 70%), Kamaru's striking is bad and that he will be submitted or Khabib will have a hard time taking Justin down in the open despite there being a lot of evidence of the opposite and so on. I see, commentators, fighters, media and fans regurgitating the same flawed lazy analyzis all the time and im not talking about a few mistakes. Don't forget they are getting paid to analyze, if I can see it they can.
That analogy for the jab being a lock pick is so smart. Dan is a great analyst.
You are my new favorite analyst. Great stuff, man!
Straight from the Compton. That the clearest breakdown of the fight.
Great channel, you're insight is spot on, good enough for me to subscribe! Continue the great work. 👍
Thanks again for an awesome teardown, so much insights before and after fights, levels above anything else IMO.
Excellent as always!
Thanks for this video, Dan. Happy that you’ve found a new level of appreciation for the champion
Dan that was really amazing work. Great video
Thanks Dan I’ve been looking forward to this video, have a great day mate thanks
Remarkable insights. Thanks Dan
Great fight and Great work always Dan/ guys. Best analysis and banter.
You sir, just made a masterful analysis!!! Always a pleasure to watch, well done :-)
This is really enjoyable commentary and breakdown for people like me who enjoy MMA but have no martial arts in our background.
What a Splendid job of explaining that jab: learned something new as always you make this sport more enjoyable when you know these little twist &turns in these styles.
Love the breakdowns, Dan is one of the best analysts in the sport. Keep doing your thing. Can’t wait for the next one.
This was your best work. subbed.
Great analysis yet again. Thanks for answering my question.
Thank you Dan, thank you for your love for the game, forever a student
Bro this the best content on the fight hands down
great analysis
I'm watching it over and over ! Really much information is covered in this Episode.
i love your analysis and your intelligence speaks for itself. loved it
Informative and objective analysis which provides a fascinating insight. I particularly like the contrast between a person who goes in to ‘compete’ and one who goes in to ‘fight’.
My Question is covered in this episode at 7:00 ! 😍 Thank you so much Dan ! I'm Gordon
brilliant videos
Wow. Excellent analysis.
I am soo happy .. Thank you. Dan
Fantastic analysis! So interesting to get your view on this.
Excellent break down analysis.
great analysis man.. u opened my eyes to some of the things that my eyes did not catch during the fight..
I can’t actually imagine how life was before these pre and post fight videos - just exceptional. Love the Q&A is built in but bigger screen on certain moments would be great. We are all wrong sometimes so credit to Dan for admitting that. Great analysis. Going to get Dan Hardy’s a water bottle for Xmas to replace the jug too
Very good show!
Keep it up Dan, best analysis in the game. My man got a bionic eye when it comes too fighting
This video is a great example of why we continue to support you Mr. Hardy.
Coffee + toast + full reptile = 100%...keep them coming! :)
I have been waiting for your analysis
How do I subscribe twice?
Nice job
Always enjoy Dan's breakdowns!
wow Dan, great analysis of the beginning of the fight. very interesting
Respect Dan. I give you a hard time sometimes in the comments for the whole competitor thing, but you find a way to articulate your reasons to make me say fair enough.
great breakdown.. Dan looking up at the ceiling timed in with heat pumps turning on at my flat. It felt like he was breaking the fourth wall lol.
I bloody love Dan hardy he entirely deserves everything he’s been achieving and working on since he retired. Immense job.
By far your best breakdown and the details you noticed that most people didn't..again glad usman is gettinf the respect he deserves
24:52 Dan you are a man of high emotional intelligence to reflect and realise your own flaws in your pre-match analysis. Don't know if you saw but Usman was quite miffed about it in his post fight conference and mentioned you directly. Atleast you know Usman is a subscriber but more importantly, *Dan vs Usman* for the title. Have a word with Dana please!
Dan would get absolutely knocked senseless.
super logical until the joke towards the end
@@SnowPyramid no shame in that
This guy trying to get Dan Hardy killed.
Perhaps sarcasm didn't come across well at the end of my comment. Calm down people
Very good insight. We have to train!
Well said and put. Truth facts and honesty. No bias - just facts
I loved the new camera angles
Best analyst about!🔥
Couldnt wait for this! Freaking killer jab wsup? MMA evolving.
Hey Dan, love the growth man. I'm sure you heard what Usman said about you during the post fight presser. I was curious what your response would be. Great job of acknowledging fault in analysis and correcting it - hard thing for most people to do, especially publicly. Anyway, friend of the show and your honest critiques (right or wrong) - keep up the good work.
Hands down best break downs in the game 🙌🏽
Stoic!!! 💪🏽
I wanna see khabib vs usman, see how well khabib does against someone his own weight and also someone with good wrestling.
One of your best ever, fighter vs competitor mindset is one for all of us to remember, know which you are and capitalize on those strengths. If I knew then what I know now, right.....
Great Great Breakdown, it’s definitely a Big Deal that you acknowledged what you learned, Great Job as Always, 👍🏾👊🏾✌🏾🇳🇬🇺🇸
27:20 Brilliant analysis
Dan Hardy, you made me fall in love with MMA. Thanks for that.
Gastelum Vs. Holland
holy shit on the jab philosophy. i studied JKD, currently box and I hadn't ever conceptualized it like that.
I love that Dan Hardy is doing great at this I love the breakdowns and I'm truly happy for him I remember being like 14-15 years old and him fighting GSP heartbreaking about his heart issue that caused a early retirement much Hardy keep doing your thing💯
USMAN was in the mindset - It was personal "YOU CHALLENGED ME TO TAKE MY BELT" #putsomerespect #onmyname #champUSMAN
You’ve have my respect Dan 🤝 I was trashing u ngl, but this was amazing.
Love your podcast you do a great job you and David soon and we ran black are my three favorite tech and I
Fascinating! What a sport....and what a scary champion!
MMA comunity is so sensitive. You cant even make prediciton for fights. Its kinda ironic because MMA is brutal sport.
Thank you for using the word "ironic" correctly.
I think a lot of people were surprised with last two cards, I remember seeing a lot of people picking Gilbert and Conor to win, 2021 is shaping up to be a surprising year.
It was not about that. It was how biased the pick was. It was disgusting. Dude acted like Usman was CM Punk and that he has nothing for Gilbert except clinching and stalling. You could see it. He downplayed all of Usman’s wins. Especially the Sergio Moraes KO
@@noelnoni7310 I guess the Masvidal fight was still fresh in his mind, however to be fair to Usman he only had 6 days to adjust his gameplan for Masvidal, their rematch would probably be more exciting.
@@uwotm8634 I agree the rematch would be better. I think Usman has listened to the criticism, and become a much more interesting fighter, whilst improving his game too. The best athletes always find a way to turn hatred and negativity into positive energy for themselves, like Ronaldo 😜
