  • I live in the region where a few maned wolves inhabit, the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. There's an old catholic sanctuary in the mountains that everyone can visit, it's called "Santuário do Caraça" and is a natural heaven. One of the sanctuary priest's tradition is to feed the local maned wolves at night (you can find videos of it on KZhead), it attracts tourists and helps a lot with preservation efforts. The maned wolf is extremely rare, bealtiful and has maybe the most unique vocalization in the animal world.

    • @@terriwetz6077 I think it’s a new trend the climate alarmists are trying to push. The access to nitrogen usually comes at a lesser priority after the absolute necessities, water and calories. The wolf will probably get enough essential amino acids from a few rodents, but not nearly enough calories (or water) to keep going…

      @Hallands.@Hallands.22 күн бұрын
    • Nitrogen is the basis of amino acids, and hence proteins. No nitrogen in, no protein, no wolf!

      @webtoedman@webtoedman12 күн бұрын
    • @@webtoedman Of course, but only plants can make proteins from nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Animals must consume plants and/or meat. Counting nitrogen remains a highly unusual way of relating to protein-availability…

      @Hallands.@Hallands.12 күн бұрын

Time to do some research.,, So the maned wolf has a great variety of foods in its diet including fish. It's currently on the threatened list but not endangered yet. It's species has been in decline recently. We need to protect all our wild animals. Please contribute when possible in saving our furry friends. Imagine a world without them how horrible it would be.
