this game... This game was a literal work of art, I feel like I can interpret the end as the hero (technically protagonist) starting the cycle again... Re-entering their frame only to be stripped of their memories, given their normal hand and ready to start the cycle over again. Ready to feel innovating and groundbreaking again, ready to feel lost but exited, ready to feel terrified at times, then adventurous and dodgy, like nothing can touch them. Then stoic, heroic and as if they understand everything. Ready to feel free like a bumblebee, happy and thinking that they're doing everything right. Then ready to feel the dread of letting either those around them down or themself down in some way shape or form, ready to feel lost in the chaos and terrified once more. And finally, unknowingly... Ready to feel lost, truly lost... Lost as if all of it was merely meaningless, as if all of it was just a waste of time and they should have never done anything in the first place... Feeling tired, defeated and just ready to go home... And that's what they do, they go home both physically and metaphorically, to the point where they're exited again, ready for all of it again. As the infinite loop progresses, and truthfully I'd have to say I can partly relate. truly, this entire thing was completely and utterly breathtaking.
bro wrote an whole essay
That makes me wonder, did he bring the crab arm home? It doesn’t show us whether or not he did, but we saw it stay through two different worlds.
Something about the finale I feel sad for him, yet I feel something else that I don't know how to explain. What a beautiful game
i feel like at the end, he understood everything...
In the end, he can only dream to go to every dimensional and undo his mistakes if he could.
i agree.
it's so interesting to me how they chose a sample-based music genre as the theme for the collage world boss, awesome attention to detail
Nope.. it’s not calm at all. Sounds like cyriak.
@@Billy_plays2017 bro i love breakcore
@@Jovian_Freelance how do you not know who cyriak is???
@@Billy_plays2017 That's not why they're confused
@@Billy_plays2017 read that comment and try again
That's the sad thing about being a hero, and what the protagonist failed to see: You can't save everyone. There are many cases where evil will prevail, you can't save everyone being only one hero, there's always someone in need on other places. You just need to help who you can help, and try your best to save as many as you can.
In Final Fantasy 14, there is a quote that I think you would like for those we have lost, for those we can yet save, it can be said a lot by your character if you choose that option, and it is very similar to what you wrote
I like this game not only because of the story and art style(s) but also because _most_ of the bosses weren’t actually trying to kill you, some of them go “oh shit my bad man” and they turn out to be really nice
Colored Pencil was a big hungry animal, Charcoal was a misunderstood loner, Watercolor was lashing out due to pain and mistaken identity, Acrylic was territorial, Ink was homicidally-insane and shapist, Pastel was just another big animal, and Collage was a primal force of indifferent entropy.
Wow... This game is gorgeous... I love how much you can tell this game had a bunch of heart and soul poured into it, and how the creator explored each world/artsyle with great love and detail, even down to the music choice for each world fits so well (especially collage, using music that is remixed from other songs to create something new, chaotic, scary even!) , the exhibit made me want to cry....
people saying the ending is sad but to me it's either sad, bad or good ending. It's a peacefull ending where you are ready to rest your mind and let everything go to make room for your self. This ending is like going home from a hectic and chaotic day. You don't need to be meaningfull and worth it sometimes... You just need to rest and calmdown
Or
I mean really though. He did mention how he didn’t know who else to save in the void. Little did he know he needed to save himself
That ending is actually pretty sad, to be honest.
At least he's finally home.
Think of it this way he can just visit every world again and help any way he can!
Cry about it then

He looks like he should be in the dream/core world
New fear unlocked:getting caught by a monster made of hands
Reminded me of another game where you, player, is literally made out of hands, everything, eyes, mouth, nose, you name it, are now hands.

Small shout-out to bruh breh ii, for the breathtakingly beautiful prose that you wrote, which I believe perfectly encapsulates the journey of the protagonist. And especially considering the multi-medium artistic nature of (well) The Multi-Medium. From the beginning of the game, the protagonist has explored varying worlds of varying mediums, each rich with their own culture and mysteries. And that's what makes the ending a truly surreal experience; the protagonist (and ourselves, by extension) are in a 3-dimensional world -- an art gallery -- literally looking back upon each of the worlds we've visited like a gallery visitor would reminisce on their favourite artworks. Then there's the very last artwork in the gallery: the pencil sketch world that the protagonist started their adventure from. It's empty. Every artwork in the gallery had a hint of the deeper narratives of their worlds; a hand in a ruin-laden shadowed catacomb in the Charcoal artwork to represent the Forgotten Watchdog, the circle in the watchtower overlooking squares in the Pen and Ink artwork to represent the "shapist" system of oppression. The Pencil Sketch artwork has the multiversal transporter, an indicator of a science-fiction exploration-driven world. The wide space clearly shows that the story is missing something. And the protagonist stepping into the artwork, completes the story; they're facing the machine, suggesting to someone viewing the artwork that they intend to use the machine for exploration. This is what spurs forward the loop; a story of exploration, a quest for purpose, a retrospective reflection, all ending and beginning with the protagonist fulfilling the final piece of their artwork's intended story. It's a strange and enlightening idea: knowingly supporting a loop, finding yourself and losing yourself all over again because you know that without you, your story won't make any sense to anyone else who's watching.

I respect you man
Same
the final boss name is collage monster
I think we all can agree that Watercolor world has the best music
Charcoal world also has pretty interesting music, in my opinion.
Absolutely. Where is this game's soundtrack, I NEED it.
Watercolor World music and the boss fight itself reminds me of that popular bullet hell game
was wondering if the OST is public or not
What about collage world.
8:28 clearly, He is one of the goodest boys.
did you notice that in collage world, the protagonist gets a lobster claw, which is a symbol of a hero, found in acrylic world
Well thats obvious
He said it himself in gouache world
The watcher is the coolest boss design I've seen ever along with the colleague monster
Fact: the paintings are the worlds that the main character’s explored worlds in reverse.
The multi medium is the best game
Замечательная игра, благодаря её многообразии рисовки, она очень крутая и красивая
The most goofy : Pen & Ink The most creepy : Collage
Yeah... Collage looks like... Idk its Just creepy
The watcher looks creepy to
Well, this is how you travel to the Multiverse.
The charcoal boss at almost end was like: ok lemme help u open it but ima leave u alive boi
This is a best example of 'The game is a mixture of arts'.
The hero kinda reminds me of a doctor the game has really a good telling of a medic the charcoal world and the.mission to save the baby represents childbirth the oil pastel represents help from food poisoning and collage boss might represent cancer as it said it has nothing to gain the same way cancer does and the hero represent a doctor that's trying to help
And then in the pen world the doctor cures racism.
Man I love re-watching this video
artstyle in this game is so sick and soundtrack is awesome. i hope someone upload all ost from this game.
glad you liked it! the ost is now out on major streaming platforms. :)
@@renachr0nism sick, i'm gonna check it out
Final boss reminded me old flash games called drop dead... they had wierdcore style too, im glad this abnormal and creepy style of images still being count as art and known this days too!
Most everyone is talking about the final boss, but no one is talking about the Pen & Ink boss
Shapist.
I having weird core vibes from the final boss
Yeah.
Weirdcore feels like the decendant from collage, embracing that strangeness and pushing it to its limits
@@BluTheStickFigure yea
26:22 love the boss fight
2023 KIDS think they are skibidi/ titan camera
That ending hits hard
that collage boss definitely has some Cyriak vibes
The most bieautiful aspect of the game is probably the game-design itself and how many them show us.
The final boss. Is actually disturbing
I thought so to.
Last time I saw something that creepy was photoshop flowey.
Gives me realistic wall of flesh vibes
I can’t believe this is hand drawn
bro the music drom the 4th boss IS SOO NICE EVERY SINGLE GAME SHULD HAVE THAT MUSIC
The final bosses music sounds something cyriak-ish. The game's very creative tho with the different art styles and i love it.
So wait.... He been travel to another universe in the form of art? Well that a cool concept
I love this style! Never would've heard of this game if not for your video.
Is it just me or does anyone else get photoshop flowey vibes from collage world’s final boss
actually yes, I do.
The music in the final BOSS remember to Earthbound or Omega flowey figth
Every boss: Hey im here to kill you. The Eel: Im here to attack you so you remove the bolts off my skin.
The Handman: oh shoot my bad let me just uhh *:minecraft_door_opening.mp4:* there you go (i call him the handman because its fitting) (he was a misunderstood loner guy)
i get rayman music vibes from these stages.. its nostalgic as well as beautifull.
Names for every boss Coloured pencil: scorpisaurs. Charcoal: mouth handed hieroglyph beast Watercolour: mega eel. Acrylic: yeti Pen and ink: circle king. Pastels: oil bee queen. Collage: conglomerate of chaos.
デッサン、絵の具、コラージュなど…、英語はさっぱりですが不気味ながらも惹きつけられる世界観です(魅)。
Taking LSD In An Art Museum: The Game In all seriousness, this game looks incredible. It's amazing the amount of love and effort that was put into it.
26:24 i love How he is tiny compared with the normal person
kid sized
21:46 OMG WHAT THAAA
The final boss’s look and music reminds me of Omega Flowey from Undertale
Yeah
The 27:00 boss looks like the work of cyriak and the song like ultrakill lol
mf boutta get a +disrespect
I thought the entire game slowly started to becoming more creepy as it goes and make less sense was a metaphor for dementia and the end being the archive of memorys the protagonist has left
This game is an outstanding good game
Absolutely

The last boss: personification of damaged prions
That music in the watercolor boss is just glorious
I love the style, the soundtrack of this Game... it's just beautiful
woaahh less than 30 seconds in and the music already slaps
Honestly I love the how the charcoal world monster wasnt really evil, just seemingly gaurding the place. But after realizing the mc was just looking for the kid, he decided to let them go, not seeing them as intruders anymore.
26:28 I like this music boss
Thank you for playing this beautiful game so I don't need to get anywhere near this game play madness!
That skeleton thing is unusual wasn't it suppose to attack? Or it just feel like freeing them from the dreadful place.
I think its a forgotten guard dog of the ancient city, like some other commenter said, it wasnt evil it was just doing its job and when you get to the end he opens the door so you can go out, pretty much acomplishing its task since you didnt steal any artifact just looking for that kid.
cyriak final boss moment
This game was beautiful 🥲
Surprisingly good game
I like how alot of times its just a misunderstanding others they just want to kill you but they dont die at least
Wait, what would have happened if he went through the exit?
I theorise that you have to get the medallions to enter. And in there there would be loads of rats
i’m not the only one who gets madoka magica vibes from the final boss right
This game is stunning, beautiful concept
