When I was on the battle with the Chef I literally said "STOP WATCHING THE CHEF ANIMATIONS AND PAY ATTENTION ON THE PROJECTILES IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO DIE AGAIN" what a good DLC
This was the opposite of me. I was so focused on the projectiles I literally said I’m sad I can’t watch these animations cuz the glimpses I got were amazing
How did you install it?

Is anyone gonna talk about how smooth Chef Saltbaker’s animation is?!
And the fact that it's all hand drawn too.
Him and the Howling Aces
@@Sans-fv4co I'm not sure they drew everything by hand like they did in the original game, but it's still smooth as heck
Weirdly, it's a bit too smooth. Does not really match the 1930s animation style of the original game.
@@Beastofdestruct eh it’s ok cause it can’t be 1930’s the whole time it can show animation showed
I like that Chef Saltbaker isn't one of those villains who just stays bad after being corrupted, he learned his lesson and decided to better himself.
Yup
Everyone who didn't understand why DLC took so long to come out need only look to two places: first, the animation quality (pristine), and second, the small team who put it together (incredible). Well worth the wait imo.
You hit the nail on the head. People now a days whine for good quality film/games but forget that good things take time and plenty of effort. I for one waited for this DLC with patience and gratitude.

Cuphead is pure art from everything to its animation to its music you can tell passion went into it.
With a pinch of salt from the baker.
And the developers are still using hand drawing animations every single panel, you know just like earlier cartoon in 1930's. No wonder it takes so long. And it's worth the wait!
Yup that’s exactly the reason why they won a lot of awards

What I really love is how well thought-out and wackier these new bosses are. It seems like MDHR were finally able to embrace the concepts entirely while no longer having to worry about time restraints or budgetary problems. Everything here feels carefully put together while at the same time being so insane you can’t help but smile through the boss fight scenarios.

Quality, Time, Effort and Patience over Quantity, Rush and Budget Problems
I don't really play these kinds of games myself but I can only imagine the sheer confusion and panic people felt when the female dog pilot's plane just rotated the screen the first time they played this DLC. Edit: It took me such a long time to realize that in the battle with Saltbaker, you could still see the trapped soul of Cuphead/Mugman/Chalice (all differs depending on which character you used/if you equipped the cookie or not) in the back in the first and third phases of the battle. It’s a really nice but still a somewhat horrifying detail.
Me too. Imagine you're playing a really hard level AND THE SCREEN TURNS

Aside the great boss battle of Chef Saltbaker, the ending is wholesome. After being sent to prison he was forced to work on the other bosses by fixing and cleaning their homes. He also learned his lessons and slowly turned into a good person, he became an opened-minded character and started see the other bosses appreciation because of his hard work. Once his bakery is fixed, he invited all the people around him including the Cuphead Trio to his party to celebrate at his new bakery Tbh Chef Saltbaker is a great plot character.

I feel like Chef saltbaker is an even better villain than the devil for two reasons. Firstly because he Was a twist villain. It worked cause by the trailers and most of the game he seemed like an Support character who just is there to help chalice to become mortal again. Which is why it comes as a suprise that he is in reality a heartless monster. Secondly because of how terrifying and evil he is potrayed. The devil Was potrayed more like just some 20s cartoon villain who doesn't appear that much in the game at all and doesn't appear that terrifying. With Chef saltbaker it's completly different. His face expression Was the one of a Psychopath, during the Boss battle he litteraly kills living beings, just to use the parts of their corpses to battle you. Hell this guy is wrong in many ways. And the music. When battling the other bosses and even the devil, the music Was always joyful, to make you feel like in a 20s cartoon. But with Chef saltbaker the music feels like it comes from a horror movie which makes him appear more terrifying and powerfull.
EXACLY! gosh, i wish devil was portrayed in the same way as him.
I agree with your second argument but I don’t believe your first, because, in my opinion, making a twist villain with no hints or forshadows feels kind of forced in, I know for some people, the less you expect it, it’s better but for me the feeling of "BOOM he’s actually evil !" Is kind of bad, we could have seen the chef getting more and more exited with every ingredient we collect and finally seeing signs of his obsession for making the Wandertart his magnum opus, but it’s my opinion and I agree with you, chef Saltbaker is a better villain
If he gets an appearance in the Cuphead show, I'm willing to bet that even the Devil will be scared of him. This guy isn't just psychopathic, he's sadistic. He relishes in what he does.
He’s psychopathic, like a Dream Stan.
@@Technically-a-kiwi There is one thing that caught me and put two and two together. It's actually at the start. He states that the trio can make the Wondertarte and have, by quote, complete control of the astral plane. Or course for Cuphead and Mugman they saw the opportunity to bring her back. However, as a person who had run ins with Magolor, the way Saltbaker words "complete control" instead of "bring back your friend" sounds like he knows something they or we don't. THAT is what made me realize he's gonna be the main villain.
I love how Glumstone is barely using his actual power and is just doing stupid stuff instead lol. Also I knew Saltbaker was gonna be the villain, but I didn't think he was gonna be sadistic or pull a Magolor on us.

I played it and really enjoyed the varying difficulties! A bit sad there weren't any Run n Gun levels but still really entertaining! Glumstone: Really cool idea with a giant enemy. Reminded me of the troll in the run n gun level. Him swallowing the player was a genius and terrifying idea! Moonshine Mob was cool because of the many different phases. The middle one confused me for a bit but was pretty easy after a few tries. Esther Winchester was a whole journey and really wild. Especially the last phase where you need to ply through the open spaces and narrow hallways (made of sausages). Not that difficult though. The Howling Aces were my favorites by far! The plane control was a nice challenge and the last phase messed with my head so much! The middle phase was super easy though. Mortimer Freeze: Reminded me of Ice King from Adventure time but was a cool boss. Didn't like his last phase that much though. Saltbaker: Super difficult! And as the final boss a must. The fire annoyed me the most. Phase 2 was a really nice mechanic and so was phase 4. Angel & Devil: Now THAT was awesome! First having to solve a riddle to get there and the boss itself was very creative and amazing designs! Too bad the reward was meh. The King's Tournament was a good addition. I liked the simpler "Find the weakness and use timing to win" approach. The hardest for me was the Rook and the rest was pretty easy. Too bad we didn't get to fight the King himself. The items were interesting. I didn't really enjoy playing as Ms. Chalice so I just never used her.
