Well said. We’re still told that our enemies are Russia and China and that their populations are brainwashed and propagandized. Maybe there’s some truth to that, but I live in the US and I’m more concerned about what our government and media push out to our people on a daily basis. Y’know what I am actually learning something really important from all of this: a lot of history has likely been very skewed and distorted just because of drama between historians like this

Anyone who's watched both videos can tell that you haven't watched Lazer Pig's videos at all. This is as stupid as saying: you can tell RedEffect is very smart because he talks with a funny accent.
Lazer claims that the M1 engine doesn't consume more fuel when we literally have a US made document of different engines consumption when mounted onto M1.
And everyone who worked with the M1 will tell you that it consumes loads of fuel. If the guy knew anything about how engines work we wouldnt be having this convo...

But lazer is right, what you're talking about here is the early stages of the abrams turbine engine and everyone knew that from the start so they had plans for the later installment of an auxiliary power unit (APU), same shit with the noise, the tanks was louder indeed but not by much, and this changed aswell over time. The problem is the crews stuck with the joke and people still think it consumes loads of fuel. That engine can take several types of fuel without much trouble and is very reliable, also in terms of hp output its much better (I'm not american nor an americaboo, its just that lazer is right)

Because russian and soviet sources are biased, making their vehicles seem better than they actually are. Now, keep in mind NATO/Western sources aren't very trustworthy at times, but they damn sure can be credible and truthful to an extent.
That's not what he said. He said he believed that RedEffect wasn't objective enough with Soviet sources but was highly critical of Western ones. Soviet sources are known for being a little, erm, how should we say this, _fanciful_ at times when compared to Western ones. Partly due to a general lack of transparency and a culture which, depending on who was in charge, may have penalised negative reporting. And it should come as a surprise to no one that publicly available modern Russian sources are highly dubious. Nobody's perfect, RE is generally reliable, and you should always do your own research and come to your own conclusions if you really want to know "the truth". LazerPig and RedEffect present themselves as educators, and they are in a way, but really they're essayists giving their personal, (mostly) fact-based opinions on things.

The fact that LazerPig doesn't list his sources because a viewer wouldn't "go through the same trouble and work" is just laughable. What kind of argument is that? I wrote a very extensive comment on his A-10 videos because they either don't list sources, are blatantly wrong or completly misinterpret and/or misrepresent facts from these sources. The fact anyone takes that guy seriously is just absurd and everytime he makes a video he empowers the worst kind of people to parrot his comments on every decent discussion.

LazerPig thinks it is wrong to use Russian sources when people talk about Russian tanks. Furthermore, LazerPig thinks using Russian sources = pro Russian propaganda. I don't think there can be any meaningful conversation with LazerPig on the subject of T-14 Armata.

A lot of people here want to see them talk it out but I honestly don’t really see that as an option. Lazerpig’s response video was mainly ad hominem attacks in an attempt to ruin red’s reputation. This came out of nowhere and as red mentioned lazerpig seemed nice when he communicated with him. Lazerpig burned any bridges and potential options for a open discussion. His recent shitpost really came off as an attempt to draw away attention from the new videos from cone and red. Lazerpig is trying to de-escalate everything because it’ll be really hard for him to win a actual debate now if one happened.

@@713Tankbuster probably economic issues mixed with bureaucracy. The Russian federation has a lot of problems and the current sanctions aren’t helping them. Similar thing with the Ak-12 where it took way longer than expected to produce in numbers. They have produced a number of these tanks however production likely hasn’t been streamlined and it will take some time for large numbers to appear. I’m not gonna pretend that the current Russian government is great or super efficient because it really isn’t. However the current war is forcing the country to iron out a lot of its issues and I expect we’ll see something happen in the near future.

Main thing is, LazerPig was always just only a shitposter, a thing which has more than leaked into the internet by this point instead of staying in it's own mostly separate section, and this in return ended up in being led to it clashing with serious topics grounded in actual realism. There was no prolonged negotiation, no planning, and no prior thought put into it before buying. The Right-wingers made those purchases without taking systems of support and exploitation into account. That means a lack of spare parts, maintenance facilities, storage hangars, and overall support and servicing (logically and logistically). Which translates to that if any of those tanks, aircraft and artillery breaks down, have malfunctions or faults, then all of those fancy newly-bought vehicles will just sit and rot away in rusted post-Soviet warehouses. All of what the Ministry of National Defense had spent it's money on away into shit without any prior consideration and preliminary planning was not even tested. But that's not even the problem, because the core problem lies within the base armed forces, already neglected by the ideologically-directed governments in the past from the 1990's to today. Soldiers in the professional and the recent voluntary compulsory militaries are mostly being given out obsolete equipment and uniforms from the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's instead of a soldier walking into a supply store and being issued brand newest up-to-date boots and uniforms. Instead you get poor-quality boots which in a short time period wear themselves out to the point of no longer being usable, older webbing kits and backpacks from the 1970's and 1980's a. la Polish People's Army-style well-renown for being tight and uncomfortable, obsolescent quilt jackets that hold in water instead of repelling it, and they don't even issue you brand-new sleeping bags, foldable camping tents, combat knives/bayonets, flashlights, lighters or compasses, because guess what? The military, the government, the Ministry of National Defense and technically the entire military department forces you to buy that stuff all by yourself instead of already issuing it to you, from just pennies-worth of pocket money called "uniform allowance" which wouldn't even be enough to buy all of that stuff instead of properly ensuring the soldier, or like, you know, any real fucking actual human Western-aligned military elsewhere in the entire world, issuing it to the soldier right away once he steps in and arrives to his mechanized infantry unit's headquarters.

Oh, and talking about mechanized infantry, most of which are still driving around and breaking their backs in this depression and suicide-encouraging of a pathetic excuse for a military force with over 1,000 obsolete 1960's-Era coffin BMP-1 IFV's, around 100 of which were already given away to Ukraine, but the problems don't stop there. You would figure that our new modern Patria IFV's would replace all BMP-1's currently used in the Polish Land Forces, but not at all. In fact, most of these are only on disposition for only a few mechanized infantry brigades, and for brand new soldiers and recruits who expect to buy this Right-wing propaganda facade of being issued a brand new MSBS Grot assault rifle, being kitted out like some high-tech operators that you see in most of those propaganda NATO-Warwave videos once they arrive to their respective unit, they will be in for quite a dissapointment. More on the Patria's though. Poland as a result of introducing extreme budget cuts and continuing to downsize it's military after 1990 under Lech Wałęsa was destined to eventually become mostly a peacekeeping-size and overseas mission-going only military force, buying only some modern and licensed equipment in limited quantities just for the purpose of maintaining this self-image of a "strong and powerful military capable of defending the entire country and fully staying up to it's commitments to NATO" just to send off troops on useless missions and such, and this happened for over a decade. Things got only even worse when the rebranded Communists under the Social Democratic "Democratic Left Alliance" party under Aleksander Kwaśniewski took over in 1995, "legally" ousting Lech Wałęsa's inefficient and even chaotic governments through presidential election, where essentially, the Round Table Agreements of 1989 came back to bite Wałęsa in the ass, who was mostly focused on his self-image of an everyday man instead of practical responsibilities and role of a president. Solidarity, instead of removing Communism completely from power like in most countries and lustrating (purging) Communism from all aspects of Polish life like Jan Olszewski's cabinet wanted to (mind you a very influential individual in Polish politics, he knew the real corrupt shit that was going on and tried his best to fix it, but his cabinet was ultimately removed from power by Wałęsa through a non-Democratic vote of no confidence due to lack of unified support for his goverment), rather decided to make peace with said Communists and allow them to return to power under a new brand after 1989 and then seize total power in 1995. The SLD party was very corrupt, and especially wanted to take away all funding (military and non-military) for anything it saw as unnecessary and instead funnel it all off towards public spending on useless shit like more trash bins and bus stops. Take the Gawron-class corvette program for example, where just a year after construction for 7 corvettes was approved, the Ministry of National Defense under orders from the corrupt SLD government decided to immediately reduce, defund and then cancel the program altogether and limit construction to just 1 vessel, a single unfinished hull which just sat and rotted in drydock for 14 years and it's costs to fully complete and equip it ballooned due to the lack of funding as the country saw the SLD lose favor out of power after a corruption scandal and the change through 3 subsequent governments: Right-wing in 2005, Liberal in 2010 (or 2007 when Donald Tusk became Prime Minister) and then finally Right-wing again in 2015 who finally, without any knowledge of what clusterfuck went on prior had the audacity to launch and complete this single hull as Poland's ONLY modern pathetic warship. Since 2005 under the Right-wingers, the Polish military wasn't any better either. Besides some minor acquisitions like the Peace Sky Program in 2006 where the politicians bought around only 48 F-16's and around some 200 AIM-120C AAMRAM missiles without further consideration of further increasing the number of jets, missiles and logistical equipment (the numbers haven't pretty much changed since then), the Polish Armed Forces still mostly remained this perpetual self-fueling cycle of a peacekeeper mission-going, mandatory conscription, depression, suicide, dedovschina, logistical and logical clusterfuck-ridden shithole ideologically-directed and unnoticeably badly influenced by party government leadership without any significant military, procurement, systematic replacement/mass-production of new hardware and so on. After 2007 and the Smolensk air crash in 2010 where majority of the Right-wingers' most influential government and it's officials ended up dying as a result of the incompetence and sheer training and VIP aviation errors intensified within the entirety of the Polish military in the past few years, and the subsequent vastly neo-Liberal sweeping of the plane crash under the rug and the then politics of reset with Russia that followed, the Polish Armed Forces took an even bigger hit. Much like most of Poland's ideologically-directed party governments throughout the years, the Liberals also had their own opinion about the military, but just as bad is what they wanted to turn Poland into, the effects of which are still affecting us all to this very day, regardless of anybody's political alignment, opinion or which party they preferrably support today. Immediately after they took power, Donald Tusk swore to make Poland into his own Liberal paradise subject only to the EU's commands from Brussels, he started that in 2010 he boasted that he would reduce and cut all taxes and make life for the middle class and poor much easier, but instead he and his goverrnment changed his views, instantly raised them to the max, introduced a shit-ton of tarrifs, excise and taxes on goods such as diesel oil, alcohol, tobacco, coal, sugar and so on, and eliminated many tax exemptions, a strategy now adopted in recent times by Mateusz Morawiecki, but that's not even more. As a result of the Civic Platform's rise to power, the nepotism and cronyism only grew even more, thus preventing the average Polish citizen middle class, who were mostly already pecking away at little seeds like chickens at this point to even try to live off of something, from even obtaining higher paying jobs, and this was not even further helped by the fact that Donald Tusk and his goverments refused to even raise the monthly lowest average minimum wage per capita or introduce any sort of social welfare programs to help, instead being like "Nah, fuck it. You're having problems? You're on your own, buddy. We won't give a fuck if the riot police SWAT-raids your house one day because you couldn't pay off the family's debt, problems with which were exaggerated further by us and you land in a mental asylum because of us after all we did." In short: the Liberal goverments of Donald Tusk, in a sterotypically corporate move which is much more prevalent nowadays than it was back then, initially promised paradise, only to move away from it and make life in Poland total suffering during his tenure in power. But more on what they did to the military. In compliance with the Civic Platform's brand-new politics of reset, the Ministry of National Defense, as ordered by Donald Tusk's governments, began dissolving and liquidating several mechanized infantry and tank divisions on the country's Eastern flank, abolishing dozens of military units, offices and postings across the country, which downsized the military even further, and then sent away the leftover equipment from those liquidated military units deemed as "unnecessary" to rot in post Soviet-Era warehouses, including the still relatively-modern Leopard 2 tanks which by the way were received for free from Germany through a peace dividend. This shitshow went on for about quite a while for 5 years until the Right-wingers took power again, when in Late 2014 Donald Tusk left his post of Prime Minister of Poland to instead become President of the European Council in December of 2014, and that was the lucky break for the Right-wingers, now or never to reverse all the damage that he has caused, or so i that's what i initially thought as a kid what the Right-wingers were there for. Once in the tank that really no longer matters though. Once mounted to the tank the mass of the tank and engine becomes one. A lighter engine at that point only enables more other stuff to be mounted to the tank for the same total weight. Which is obviously an advantage, but the power to weight ratio of the engine itself no longer matters.

But if the engine weighs 1 tonne, designers simply can put on 4 additional tonnes of armor or other equipment to the tank, bringing it to the same 50 tonnes and thus the same power to weight ratio..

Bad choice of words here for one simple reason: The heavier and poorer the power to weight ratio the more armor/defensive measures are sacrificed to fit the engine in. It's why the bradley's a bit arse in the offensive area while not being more durable than a BMP-3 or BMD-4 while those can mount equivalent weapons and slap a 100 mm on top.

One of the major rules of debating is that you attack the arguments of the opposition, not the people presenting them. RedEffect displayed emotional control and maturity by only focusing on the facts and not letting those words cloud his judgement.
I find it rich that Lazerpig accuses someone else of making clickbait thumbnails. It looks to me that most if not all of his videos (especially those relating to the war in Ukraine) have clickbait thumbnails and clickbait titles. I have to also admit that I just don't like his persona and his content. I have no rational explanation for why, I just know that his voice physically grates on me and I have trouble listening to his videos because of it.

11:58 that’s really a moot point because most engines nowadays can literally trace their lineages directly to late 20th century designs. That’s literally how engine designs work. It’s always been easier to build off of an existing design than a complete redesign every time you’re releasing a new engine. There’s so much differences between the V2 engine on the T34 and the T14 that saying they’re the same is just like saying the MTU engine on a leopard is just a diesel version of the Maybach v12 on a tiger.
I think a tank engine history video would be really interesting to see, its certainly not something that is covered very often that's for sure. How long such a video would be with all of the variants/upgrades is something else. I would be intrigued to know what the difference is between a super charger and a turbo charger on a tank engine? In simplistic terms at least, since I am certainly no engineer by any regards. Keep up your great work on your videos as I really appreciate them and the effort that you put into them as well.
Turbo charger works with air that comes from moving (its round with a fan in the middle that spins from the air and creates power). A super charger takes power from the engine not the air. I think thats the difference ( its the same.about cars). If you want more information i suggest you wacht a video😅
Yes it would be a long video, and kind of boring. But I have gathered a lot of information about them while doing research for this video that I can make such video, if enough people request it. Turbocharger uses the energy from the exhaust to power itself, while supercharger uses mechanical parts of the engine (like spinning of the crankshaft). That is why V-92S2F (turbocharged) has two large pipes on each side of the engine.

Always with a very clear proactive emotional investment over something he has relatively little knowledge about, likely never will for another decade, and also for no reason. Like sure, lambast the product for its potential flaws, but the majority of his videos are just poor emotional jokes at russia rather than actual facts. (That and he openly discredits information based on the fact it has any sort of association to russian sources which isn't how you should approach such a topic)

He really is not good at taking criticism, and is the first one to lash out against any criticism as a personal attack, as can be seen with his reply to Chieftain video. The main problem with him seems to be that he is motivated by believing himself to be on an ideological mission, so ends justify means if it means Ukrainian victory, "Crude Russian junk" is not just ignorant remark, it is valuable ideological ammunition in struggle against russian aggression... On like [Platform formely known as Twitter] and Reddit... Truly the most important front.

I’ll be honest, I’m very much ‘anti regime’ of the current Russian hierarchy…but that doesn’t mean I will gobble up everything I’m told about Russia or any country for that matter. With all that said, LaserPig ultimately comes off as ‘how my commentary sounds’ rather than ‘what my commentary actually says’. He sounds like he’s saying a lot, it sounds knowledgeable and studied but it isn’t as informative as a 1 hour long video SHOULD be. He sounds very self defensive, very reactionary, and hostile when he is criticised and his response video came across as manipulative and victimising. I only started watching him a short while ago but his constant emotional responses (as well as the expose that Red Effect has done here) has damaged his credibility beyond repair for me. He just comes across as someone who likes to unapologetically shoots his mouth off because it’s fun but gets highly offended when someone challenges his statements.
It even devalues the accomplishments of the Ukrainian armed forces because they repelled Putin army largely with older soviet weapons. Newer European weapons are only drip fed to specific units. If they sucked that much the Russians would have already won.
The hilarious part to me, is that these liberals who spread anti-Russian propaganda and smear anything and everything Russian aren't actually helping Ukraine at all. You can't win a war by lying on the Internet the most. Russia is still invariably going to achieve success, and when there are scrapyards full of burnt out NATO material and vast tracts of Ukrainian graves, liberals in the West will scratch their head, shrug, and disregard it.

The most frustrating part of this whole situation is the fact that even in Laser pigs second response he is still talking down to Red like he is a pro Russian propagandist who is trying to cover up all the flaws with Russian equipment and claim they are the best. Anyone who watches any of red's videos about modern Russian tanks will know that every single one has a pathetically slow reverse speed compared to almost all western tanks, and that this is a major weakness because the tank has to turn around when fleeing artillery or other danger and expose the weakest point of its armor EVERY TIME. I didn't know any of that, but i got 100% of that information FROM REDEFFECT. If he's a propagandist then he's absolutely terrible because he put out the most easy to understand information proving that a tank has a massive weakness, how severe that weakness is, and even showed footage of that weakness in action. HOW IS IT PROPAGANDA IF YOU'RE POINTING OUT DANGEROUSLY SIMPLE FLAWS TO EXPLOIT ABOUT YOUR OWN TANKS??? Lazeroig is acting like Red is defending the honor of the T14 and all Russian tanks with bad information and faulty Logic, but it was bad information and faulty logic that got Red to make the response video in the first place. Red didn't respond to the T14 video because he has a vested interest in how the tank is viewed by the public, he did the response video because the information and logic Lazerpig used was mostly pretty flawed. There are enough problems to laugh at the T14 for already. I've watched both channels for years, but Lazerpig is completely out of line here. He's fallen back on belittling red's intellectual integrity and created a strawman of red being a blindly pro Russia shill because he doesn't know how to take the loss and admit some parts were a mistake. He constantly claimed red overlooked or didn't understand things that, if he actually watched his other videos, you would know that he absolutely did understand. It's extremely disappointing to find out this this is how Lazerpig handles mistakes, he takes the massive influence of his pro Ukrainian audience and tries to sic it on someone by accusing him of being a propagandist. Fortunately red and Lazerpig should have considerable audience overlay (both being largely military vehicle channels) and anyone who watches both will immediately see that Lazerpig is out of his depth here and know that red is critical of any tank he finds issues with, so not blindly pro anything. I don't get the feeling that much of Lazerpigs audience is going to keep backing him on this, and with 2 response videos on either side I feel like a lot of people will be curious enough to see what red is about too, so maybe the silver lining in all this is Red getting a bunch of tank enthusiasts coming to his channel, sort of a consolation prize he gets even if Lazerpig refuses to leave it be. Hopefully this can be the end because at this point Lazerpig is just trying to save face and he's starting to go from being a Pig 🐖 to just looking like an Ass🫏

In retrospect it should have been kinda telling that LP and the other KZheadrs he hangs out with like Animarchy only really seemed to engage with low hanging fruit like Gonzalo Lira - that whole debate really exaggerated his image by conveniently having the pig laugh at a failed sex tourist on stream. This reply will almost certainly get lost in the sea of replies, but as someone who is a bit of a Laser Pig fan I thought it be worth to chime in. LP is the one at fault in this drama for starting it, revitalizing it when was fading into his obscurity, not having any sources but lying about it in an academic discussion, plus his overall immaturity regarding the drama. While I cannot say most other LP fans are as critical towards LP's stance as I, don't get into slap fights with them. RedEffect's passivity, plus the Chieftain's clarity won me, an LP fan over. He uses a couple of basic fallacious techniques. 1. Gishgallop. Rather than develop anything strongly, instead such a sends a tide of weak arguments in a numerically strong wave very few people will have the time or resources to counter properly. 2. Appeal to popularity. Russia bashing is extremely popular in the English speaking world, so guess what he does. This plays into the confirmation biases of people who have been heavily conditioned by their own media, and press to believe anything bad to hear about Russia since their births. 3. Motte And Bailey Argument. Makes a big argument with his surface semantics the Motte, but then retreat and pretender his argument was much smaller and more reasonable when attacked, the Bailey. Basically, he likes to talk a big aggressive game when he’s on the attack and then act like he’s actually very reasonable when confronted, and why are you attacking him? He’s not saying anything all that controversial or unreasonable! 4. Pepe The Frog Fallacy. This ties into number three and it’s based on an Alt Right debate tactic (figures a Nazi lover would do this) where, when losing claim he is not really a series debater but just a Memer or a hobbyist or a comedian, and therefore it’s not fair to attack him it’s all just a joke. Only his output and presentation is not comedic, and it’s clearly meant to be serious and persuasive.

Yeah, for sure. I'm new to his videos, just watched a few, and he has the habit of stretching truth into a narrative that the truth barely supports. Same thing on his video about Stealth aircraft. He gets the details a bit wrong, and comes to the wrong overall narrative. His goal is clearly to create entertaining videos with millions of views, the truth matters less.
