Making Real THOR STORMBREAKER

The wait is over. This Thor Storm breaker is the most realistic prop ever made out of steel on the internet, i guess. Thanks for giving24 minutes out of your worthy time. Believe me you would not regret of watching such an amazing production. This Marvel's weapon was in a great demand for past few years and even very tough to make but with tons of motivation and hardwork, we finally crafted this most realistic stormbreaker by hands and machines.
Brief Summary:
o. I started with a giant anchor chain link which is a good carbon steel to work with. My hydraulic press was not that powerful to forge such a heavy chain pieces, but still it done a great job on forging of these blocks.
o. My ship milling machine has multiple axes in it which was very beneficial in making this project also i cant forget my vertex vise which was a very helpful tool attached with my milling machine.
o. The stormbreaker was machined in various parts but 2 are the most major. One is the head and other the Axe. The head was very complicated to mill because it has multiple angles with numerous sides. While the Axe part had some grooves and bevels in it. So it was very challenging to make.
o. The head and the Axe both parts were welded with 2 linked steel plates with each other having a cavity for handle. These links increased the strength for Axe and handle.
o. I chosen a dark and hard wood to make this powerful handle. Every detail was engraved very carefully with hands and machines. The wooden handle and the axe head is attached together in a traditional way with a wedge inside.
o. Got some climbing Vines from a tree to make the real texture of Groot's hand over the stormbreaker. I folded vines over the head and handle to make it more and more realistic.
o. Finally added some bee's wax for high class handle finishing and some cold bluing into the groves of head and axe for antique look
Thor hammer weight : ~10kg (22 lbs)
Total length : 29 inches
Handle length : 26 inches
Head length : 6 inches
Head width : ~1 foot

You're the reason i wanted to be in metalworking, i was gonna be a welder until i got an ICD implant and it's far too unsafe, but being a smith is an option and what i wanted to do as a hobby either way You are the reason I'm going to personally defy odds to do this, thank you

  • Good job! But if this is for display only you have no problem. I think that if you use it constantly to break wood apart, that little tiny bit of wood you left at the end of the metal is gonna break big time 😅 too small for such a big weight though. Good luck!

Matthew 6:1-6 King James Version 6 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. 5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. your own fictional character of hate and ignorance even tells you to keep it to yourself. you should listen ;).

    • @@K20TypeR Why? Nothing he could do with the handle would make it other than a prop too heavy to use or wield. Or did you miss how he had to choke up the handle just to lift it up and hit the ground. This is a mantle/wall display. It is not a tool or weapon. Hell, I can tell by looking at it it's heavier than any sledgehammer or maul I've ever used. And by more than just a little.

  • Excellent steel crafting with eye to hand line marking for craftmanship. I like the effort you put in for showman ship. You probably could do more 😆 but it more then illustrates the point. I think the vines rather primative and while I respect the curve marking unique timber carving, its not amongst the strength of the completed designed steel of the axe but non the less complete and im impressed to see the workings of the splitter for the timber but still it could be a more complete with of a load weight brace, rather then the prinative vine wrapped rope but you definitely dont need anymore skill for the steel. Solid work. Well done.
