Muhammad Ali vs Joe Frazier 3 // "Thrilla in Manila" (Highlights)
Thrilla in Manila was the third and final boxing match between WBA, WBC, and The Ring heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier on October 1, 1975 for the heavyweight championship of the world at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City, Philippines. The venue was temporarily renamed as the "Philippine Coliseum" for this match. Ali won by technical knockout (TKO) after Frazier's chief second, Eddie Futch, asked the referee to stop the fight after the 14th round. The contest's name is derived from Ali's rhyming boast that the fight would be "a killa and a thrilla and a chilla, when I get that gorilla in Manila."
The bout is almost universally regarded as one of the best and most brutal fights in boxing history, and was the culmination of a three-bout rivalry between the two fighters that Ali won, 2-1. The fight was watched by a record global television audience of an estimated 1 billion viewers, including 100 million viewers watching the fight on closed-circuit theatre television, and 500,000 pay-per-view buys on HBO home cable television.
Ali could reach deep. The greatest... no question. Kudos to Frasier though.. what a man.
THE classic trilogy! Ali had trouble with swarmers. This is why I believe Ali would have had trouble with Marciano. Although the Rock would have to not get cut.
Marciano didn't have the footwork and bobbing and weaving Frazier had. Marciano would have difficult time staying with Ali and dealing with his reach.
I am a good boxer because of M. Ali. My greatest role model.
I love Ali in this fight, he put all his great skills right out there and drew on every resource to win the fight
besides missing Ali almost knock joe through the ropes early //this is best highlight vid of this fight
It’s tbe worst..I had to cut it off after a minute it s edited so much to present Ali in the best light ...
@@jayedwards1205 to bad the dude left out the part where joe was almost knocked out of the ring in the first minute
Damn. Frazier's face looked like a Halloween mask in that last round...
Wow. Ali, the greatest of all time. Frazier lucky not to end up in a coffin that night.
Watch the actual fight and not this patch and cut job made by an obvious Ali zealot
Ali would have been asking himself , how many times have I got to punch this guy to beat him .
Legendari and epic super fight
Legendari and epic super fight😍👑
Frazier threw his hardest punches and Ali used both of his technics: Rope a dope, hit and run
Didn't Ali say about this fight , That it was the closest thing to death he has ever experienced , strangely enough I would have though he would have said that about the Foreman fight , the Rumble in the Jungle , Foreman's strength and punching power was legendary and brutal to watch , how Ali survived that I will never know , what a man .
Frazier short body punches hury ali more than foremam punches. Foreman hurt ali first 3 or 4 rounds afterwards didnt affect him so much but Frazier from round 5 till 11 really hurt ali with those body punches.
Ali actually said George's punches didn't hurt too much, he also blocked the majority of those roundhouse punches by Foreman. Frazier's punches were shorter, the kind that really take something out of ya, that's why Ali used a different strategy in the second fight, stick and move and tie Frazier up from letting loose with those body punches and left hooks.
@@kevinnaash2950 Yes, and how Ali stood up after the Left hooks in the 6th is beyond me.
That was a great fight 🥊
Best fighter ever
Two great champions. Unbelievable stamina, determination, and ability to absorb punishment. I wonder how many punches total were thrown in this fight.
At 5:14 how Ali just doesn't slam to the canvas is unbelievable to me. That is one of the greatest left hooks Frazier ever threw. Perhaps the greatest chin of all-time.
@@stevecvino No question my friend.... and his mid section was what I call flexible granite.
Frazier um grande oponente, mas Ali o maior de todos!
p
I noticed Muhammad Ali hardly give body punch, it's mostly head punch.
Strictly a head hunter.
Nothing boring see fight to Ali
ALI🖤😍👑
Ali was too defensive in 1 fight so Frazier got him easily But in 2nd and 3rd Ali charged him and result was history
last 2 rounds ali was really teeing off on joe, what a slugfest that fight was
Goat,ALI❤
Brutal fight, that 14th round was insane.... a slugfest fight you don't see today by two legends.... I said it before and I'll say it again, Eddie Futch may have saved Frazier's life that night......Rip
Ali learnt a lot from the last two fights, if Frazier was updating too, am sure Ali would loose. Lesson is don't get too comfortable even if you're already good
Que pelellon de estos gallos me pregunto cuantos golpes lanzaron en cada raun parecian metralla
the GREATEST of all times 💯
Ali fetish ...
@@jayedwards1205if that's what you want to call it //Lennox Lewis is also top of the mountain /PRIME Lennox would OUTBOX most heavyweight boxers 2 out of 3
Ali was thoroughly beaten in the greatest heavyweight fight ever, Ali-Frazier , March 8 , 1971 ...Frazier dominated and prevailed
@@jayedwards1205 joe was thoroughly zapped //boxed only 10 more bouts //took joe to be at his absolute best and Ali to be rusty to get 1 W out of the trilogy ..I have a fetish for facts .. joe turned pro 65 retired 32 4 / joe was beaten in his own right
God, you are clueless...Ali ended up a vegetable for the last 30 years of his life ! ...Frazier won a UNANIMOUS decision over ?Ali and retained his title as the undisputed heavyweight champion ...Taking bombs like Frazier threw is why Ali ended up with dementia
Men of Steel
Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazer in Thrilla in Manila Seven of us voted for Muhammad Ali as the winner.and Fred Conte for Joe Frazer. On our way back to the UTS Men's Dorm, Fred Conte was smiling at us. We have to contribute some money to give Fred Conte some snacks
Ali it simply to fast confidence wel condition
Taking nothing away from Frazier, Ali won all 3 fights
No even Ali years later in 1990 admitted Frazier won the first one
Agree
Frazier won the first fight, Ali was ring rusty after the exile, Frazier was in his prime in 1971.
Frazier won the first fight by UNANIMOUS decision ... one judge had it 11-4 for Frazier ...Frazier pummeled and dominated Ali
No, Ali was dominated and thoroughly whipped
I imagine Ali got tired of hitting Joe...in all 3 fights.
😂🏃🏃🎨🎨🎨🙏
This was only Ali "slugfest" fight
Yeah Ali wasn't playing around in this one
Nor was frazier either what a fight

Just watching the first minute, THIS IS CRAP ... this is an ?Ali highlight film, not highlights of the fight ...freakin Ali zealot edited this BS
