    • I was so happy when Andy came back to the show. Conan is as funny as anyone i've ever witnessed, and his respect for Andy as a comedian is so tangible. One of the greatest comedy duos of all time, and possibly the most oft overlooked one. After Norm Macdonald passed he said on his podcast that if anyone wonders what he actually found hilarious (contrasted with his duty as host to laugh generously for any guest), they should watch their interviews together. The only other person to get a rise out him consistently over the decades has been Andy Richter (the Swedish German).

      @jp-sn6si@jp-sn6si8 ай бұрын
    • @@jp-sn6si I didn’t just find out about Andy, I was watching Conan’s show decades ago. But he’s best known for being a sidekick on a show starring someone else. I watched Andy’s attempt to star in his own show, Andy Barker, P.I., and it was great. But it got canceled a couple months later. I thought the show should’ve been a hit and Andy should’ve been a name-above-the-title TV star. But, it didn’t happen and he went back to Conan’s show. So, he’s underrated.

      @newsduke@newsduke8 ай бұрын
    • @@newsdukeYou not knowing about something doesn't necessarily make the thing "underrated"... unlike other talk show hosts, Conan always acknowledged how great of a comedian Andy is, he never treated Andy as a sidekick. So much so that Andy left Conan in the past and came back without any fuss from Conan's part.

      @redacted2275@redacted22757 ай бұрын
    • @@redacted2275 Did you read my last comment? This KZhead clip is not the first time I’ve seen Andy Richter. I was watching him before KZhead was invented. Anyway, you’re right. Conan understandably loves Andy, and was happy to have him come back. But there’s a reason why Conan’s name is on the show. He’s the star, not Andy. Andy came back because his starring vehicles didn’t work out. Which was too bad for Andy, but a benefit for Conan’s show.
