  • watching those playoff games and how those teams operate, I'd forgotten what Power Plays are supposed to look like

  • I wish the Pens never traded Mike Matheson. I thought he was a super solid two-way defender who could skate. Hopefully Graves bounces back, or maybe Pickering impresses enough in camp to make it as that 3rd LD.

  • Im glad i wasnt the only person that noticed. I told my lady "we look nothing like these guys" with regards to the games we watched VS the penguins we watched. There was so much breakout play it started to feel like what Kobe Bryant described about the NBA: accidental basketball. Theres no real organized movement and the league its all happenstance. Unfortunately that means our goalies are seeing a different game than our players are used to

  • I will be playing close attention to the AHL playoffs. Half of this Wilkes-Barre roster should be in Pittsburgh next year, and not just moonlighting. ❤🔥🍻

  • Dk didn't we have that type of young quick, skilled defender in tye Smith? It didn't seem that the coaching staff and gm were too interested in him in the system/line up

  • I got a draft question for you DK. If they move up to the top ten in the lottery, would that then be considered a top ten protected pick, or would SJ still get our 1st?

  • Dubas said he wants to get younger, after making the team much older. oh well some moves worked out , kinda. I hope he clears out allll the coaches though

  • My thoughts on watching the eastern games is the same as when the Pens have been in the playoffs the previous years...That they are a team that is built for the regular season, not the playoffs. Now that they are an older slower team they are not even built for the regular season any more. They might do better vs the western teams. When the playoffs come around they just get beat up and run over....This team needs more soldiers..they have too many finesse players. There was a ton of hitting going on in the games I watched..the Pens would have caved as usual. The one game I watched had over 100 hits with several minutes remaining. I much prefer watching the way the Pens play, but that just can't get them very far anymore in the NHL. These days you need speed, skill, AND toughness in the NHL..The Pens only have the skill part

  • I thought his off seasons decisions (Dubas) were not great at all. I wasn't excited about any of them. 6.4 million on 6 players who produced less than 10 goals and didn't help the bottom 6 (a failure he had in Toronto as well, building a poor bottom 6). Graves although I liked, was too much money (another failure in Toronto giving out too big of contracts), and didn't move the puck well out of his zone well which is what Sully likes. With that 6.4 million you could have gotten two guys that produced 40 goals this year, as an example imagine the bottom 6 was: Carter, Eller, Nyqvist, Geekie, O'connor, Puustinen....say instead of any of the Johnsson, Johnstone, Nieto, Hinostroza, Butcher, Pullijarvi...who made no tangible impact and were all guys who were long shots and gambles (something he did in Toronto is take a flyer on a guy with low ceiling but to hit a homer)...don't think you build a championship team that way

  • So on one hand you say Sid’s going nowhere on the other Sid needs to be convinced there’s a plan? Which is it? At some point age will catch him and it will probably be the first year of that new contract. You do t build a team around a 37 year old player. Period.

  • The gossip about sid leaving is embarrassing. The way people use his drive and competitiveness to push the narrative is particularly tacky... As if sidney crosby is that desperate for another cup. It feels a lot like projection from people who have never won anything

    • He might not be desperate for a cup, but you can't convince me he's happy to miss the playoffs 2 years in a row after 4 straight years of first round playoff exists.

      @dotursdottir@dotursdottir24 күн бұрын
    • @@dotursdottir Chasing a cup is inherently desperate. Name a team in the league that's guaranteed to avoid a first round exit. If you agree sidney crosby isn't desperate, then there's nothing else to discuss

    • Wow you show your ignorance or inexperience. Sid won't stay for this ending. Penguins need picks and young talent. Since their at the bottom of the league. Win for both if he leaves. He won't retire a Penguin. Not complicated.

    • @@coulahawke1411 I can name you a team that is guaranteed to avoid the playoffs altogether for the next few years. If Sid wants to sink with the ship and spent the rest of his career in a worthless organization with zero chances of any success, that's his call.
