  • I was so disappointed with the Dubas hiring, mostly because so much power was given to one guy who hasn't in my eyes proven himself to build a team (he was handed most of the talent in Toronto).....and that is because I want Sid to win another cup, and have a chance to at least go to conference finals and Stanley cup finals.....And I don't trust Dubas to build a team around him, and I don't trust he will do right by Sid (which includes giving him a contract that would be of benefit to him)...The guy saved this franchise (along with Mario)...I don't like saying things like this, but loyalty is owed to him

  • Funny how you say “Half the league makes it in”. I come from an era where 16 of 21 teams made it in and the Penguins still found a way to be on the outside looking in.

  • You still need to have a pretty good team to get into the playoffs...The Pens dont have a pretty good team. They have a bunch of talented players who form a less than good team..It's a bad team composition. Just compare the talent on the Panthers vs the talent on the Pens. Bob is a great goal tender on the Panthers because he plays in a great system. He has players around him that make his job a lot easier. maybe Jarry is a great goaltender...We just can't tell after all this time. What is happening to the Pens is now what is happening to the Bolts..they are also an older team w. a bunch of talent and a great goaltender who are getting thumped by the panthers, who have a very tight agressive system with a bunch of worker bees. They can hang on to a one goal lead. Not very exciting hockey but very efficient.

  • If only there was a common denominator with the continued underachieving where they could make a change, instead of excuses as to why a change is not being made.

  • Regardless if Sid wants to stay or leave, give him the respect to do what he wants. He's certainly earned it, and then some. But I reeeeeally want him to stay

  • Sid has contributed enough to the Penguins. Let him win another cup elsewhere. Let the Penguins rebuild. Sid's final contribution should be whatever comes back in the trade.

    • "Let him" is hilarious considering Sid wants to stay. You're not being altruistic, you just want to sell out

    • @@coulahawke1411 Sid might say he wants to stay. He might even be telling the truth. But he has said very clearly, "I have played a lot of hockey." The guy could be collecting 100-point seasons year after year, but chasing point totals is not his game. He wants to win games and championships. I am being altruistic. I do want to sell out. If it makes you feel any better, I don't care about this more than Crosby. If Crosby doesn't care about joining a team on a cup run, neither do I. If the Penguins don't care about rebuilding the team, neither do I. I'm fine with the Penguins acting as a kind of Sidney Crosby fan club, where admirers can come and watch him skate against contenders. It's not my first choice, but I'm fine with it if the player and the team want to stay together.

      @TokyoAlex@TokyoAlex19 күн бұрын
    • @@TokyoAlex You're fabricating a narrative so heavily you should be an author... Sidney Crosby leaving means a cup for him and a rebuild for the penguins... And it's the only way either of those things can happen. Sounds really great, if I was a suggestible sheep-like person I might buy into it

      @coulahawke1411@coulahawke141119 күн бұрын
    • @@coulahawke1411 Whether Sid stays or goes, there is a very real way to look at it. If Sid stays, you might get another good run or two in the playoffs, but if Dubas doesn't fill the cupboard you are looking at the early 2000s at the end of his new contract. If he goes, for what you could potentially get in return for him, You could get a few pieces in the cupboard and be mediocre bubble playoff team for the next 5 to 7 years. Any way you look at it, unless they hit on some picks and free agent signings, they will either suck next year, or in a few years when Sid retires. There is no farm on this team.

    • @@shaneimler9328 Only way? Do you understand the concept of chances? Crosby might have a chance to win the cup again with the Penguins. He might have a chance to win with another team. You do understand that the chances are not the same. One of those two chances is greater than the other, yes? Do you understand the concept of age? Do you understand the concept of time? By the time the Penguins get their young core, the old guys will be too old to participate, no? I wouldn't call you a sheep. I might suggest that your equation is a little short.
