I'm sick of hearing middle class people telling us we should accept many many refugees. Its not them who has trouble getting housing,doctors appointments, school places or having to have the places we grew up change beyond recognition. Douglas Murray is spot on.

I've lived in a council flat for the past 40 years; and any change for the bad has come about through Govt policy (cuts to health care. Education, etc) rather than refugees.

It actually doesn't take much to bankrupt our welfare system and also what about social cohesion ? It's great that Douglas brings up the economic issue and the moral issue, but the moral issue is probably more important. What Enver Solomon is doing is immoral and he should be ashamed. The benefits he cites: the arts, sports and cuisine. None of these are benefits. British people created art and played sports before mass immigration and asylum - and they did it without kneeling for a lie while ignoring the mass abuse of girls up and down the country. I wonder if he knows he is an oppressor or if he honestly believes he is a decent human being. Other benefits: some immigrants become doctors and surgeons. As if medicine was unknown to this country before mass immigration and asylum seekers. As if Britain doesn't have people who could train to become doctors and nurses. And what's more, they could have done it without diverting billions into race issues and diversity in the NHS. I actually hate this Enver guy. What a scumbag.

26:46 - Douglas speaks straight up FACTS! I had a Ukrainian woman (single refugee, no kids) do her first morning shift at my hotel yesterday as a receptionist. Within the first 10 minutes she asked me when she could take her lunch break, how long it was and whether she could eat the breakfast provided by the hotel (we offer a buffet full English and continental breakfast). After 3 hours she began to get frustrated at how much work she needed to do (honestly it wasn't that difficult and she had help) and asked when her shift finished (shifts are typically 8 hours, which is standard for most UK jobs) but she was shocked and appalled that she was expected to work 8 hours shifts. She was told all this during the interview process but went along with it to get the job. Now she decides to ask me if she can change her employment contract so that she only works 16 hours a week because she doesn't want to lose the benefits she gets from the government. I sent her home on the spot. I am sick and tired of immigrants not wanting to work. The system needs to change. It's not only damaging to society, the economy but it also gives immigrants a bad name and reputation. Some immigrants a model citizens and you'd never know they were foreign, which is actually the point of being an immigrant; you move to the country to adopt it's culture, values and contribute to it. Britain used to be a proud nation, now we're a charity case that is losing it's nobility.
I discovered the very same thing as I travelled around Europe in 2022. They spend half the time chatting with their colleagues and so in reality they merely work 4 hours a day rather than 8.

Immigrants contribute more to the welfare system than what they take out. More even than native British. There are studies proving that. From my personal experience, the lazy ones are native Brits as I could confirm from my 12 years of working in the care business. If it wasn't for immigration the UK would come toa stop.
Migrants only go to UK for what they can get. They also send remittances to their countries of origin which is a massive drain on the English economy. There is no upside for the existing population but the globalist parasite financier class skims off the top and loves it.

My father was a refugee from Hungary in 1989. He had to have paperwork, identity and an assessment to show he was a person of decent character, with useful skills. Worked as an electrical engineer and spoke several languages, including English. He was genuinely escaping communist hell. What he was not, was a western hating economic migrant, with no paperwork, no skills and no English, expecting the taxpayer to babysit him. But, I'm White, so the story of my refugee and immigrant parents is irrelevant.

When I was in my 20s in the 1980s, I enjoyed mortgage tax relief, my friends kid got council houses, there were libraries, park keepers tended our parks, I could see the doctor on the same day, I had a dentist, my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees were funded, my grandmother received home care, the streets were clean, there were school places in your preferred school, no violence in my town, only a few homeless, no drugs. I could go on. Immigration needs to be controlled. Douglas is a star. He has the guts to say it how it is.
For the record, the population of Africa is 1.2 billion. If 1/3 of those Africans who said they'd like to immigrate to Europe did so, that would be 400 million. It's crazy to think a handful of countries can be the solution to all others.

All immigrants must be sorted out. The ones that contribute to our economy , and are grateful to Britain , and do not try to change our culture (as lots of them obviously do). I remember hearing that Australia, new Zealand and Canada demanded skills, a healthy bank balance and the ability to sustain ones self to migrate to their countries. This includes the 5.5 million EU citizens. Not taking into account those who do not have a job! Multiply 80% of the total of immigrants by all sources. The billions per annum is beyond comprehension . Multiply this over 10 years it’s astounding. Over a lifetime? Is it any wonder the UK National Debt is over 2.2 TRILLION? It will never be repaid. Any contribution they make is the equivalent of paying off the minimum balance on your credit card every month. They are cash flow. That’s it.
