If you are involved in a sports like basketball, then improving your vertical jump is not only a benefit but a necessity. There are a number of tips and tactics that can be followed in order to improve your vertical leap.
Taking this into consideration, we have accentuated a few of the tips which are guaranteed to produce results for you if you are looking forward to improve your vertical jump. Without further ado, let’s take a closer at such tips.
The first and the foremost thing that you have to do is measure your current jump so that you can track the improvement with the passage of time. Once you have measured your current jump, now is the time for you to start building your lower body muscles which are primarily put to use while making a huge vertical leap.
Beginning with jump rope is often a great idea. Although it sounds so obvious or not that useful, however, if you are consistent with jumping rope, it is certainly going to help improve your leg muscles.
Make sure that the floor is hard and that you are performing the exercise for about 15-20 minutes per day.
Squats are probably the first thing that comes to mind when you think of improving the strength in your leg muscles.
Training your lower body is your ultimate goal to improve your vertical jump. And nothing can train your legs better than the squats. Beginning with three sets of ten squats is what is recommended and you are supposed to increase the reps and sets with the passage of time as the stamina develops.
In order to build your calf muscles and enhance their strength, a simple exercise of standing on your tips and complete foot alternatively for 15-20 minutes per day is recommended.
It is to be ensured that you are raising slowly to the tips of your feet and then slowly moving back to the normal standing position. Performing the exercise hurriedly is not going to produce the results.
It is indispensable to mention here that weight training is destined to improve the quality of results that you may expecting out of such exercises as far as improving your vertical leap is concerned. However, it is not a necessity as a number of people has ended up improving their vertical jump without having to weight train.
Last but not the least, it is absolutely crucial that you are practicing the vertical jump multiple times per day and are trying to make use of your extended arms as much as you can to increase the momentum. Rest assured, now you know how to increase vertical jump. Practice makes perfect and that’s exactly what you are going to get.

  • Vert Shock changed my game completely! I added a solid 10 inches to my vertical in just 4 weeks. You can find it here while it's still available: kzhead.info/sun/i7eweMeQp6l6Y6c/bejne.html To anyone who wants to increase his vertical jump as well: - Focus on exercises that target the muscles used in jumping, such as squats, lunges, calf raises, and deadlifts. Incorporate both bodyweight exercises and weighted exercises to build strength. - Plyometric exercises help improve the power and explosiveness of your muscles. Include exercises like jump squats, box jumps, depth jumps, and bounding in your workout routine. - Work on your jumping technique to optimize your performance. Practice jumping with proper form, including using your arms to generate momentum and landing softly to reduce impact. See you guys when you reached your vertical jump goals!

  • Coming back to comment on this 5 years later. I’m was 10 when I started working on my vertical. Saw this when I was 13 and did it three times a week for around 9 months before switching up my training and incorporating the pool to add extra resistance. Learning correct form. I’m now 18 6’0 ft and can dunk off the back board. Going for that windmill in the next 12 month’s. Update: I can now 360 windmill. Update to update: I don't pay for flights anymore, I just jump.

  • for anybody looking for a serious comment here you go. I am 14 year old dunker and i started training for it 1 year ago. at first i was excited expecting results to come in days. i found this vid and did the exercises FIVE TIMES A WEEK (the worst possible thing you can do) and i did the same thing the whole summer expecting continous gains. By the end of the summer i noticed the first month and a half i gained like probably 4-5 inches on my vertical. but after that i really got no other gains. for some reason i continued with this thinking id get a 10 inch gain like an idiot. but guess what i got!! yep. KNEE PAIN. and horrible knee pains too like the type you go on to the court try to play or run or jump and it hurts. it was the excessive plyos that hurt my knees.doing plyos is good but only with strength training. its like putting explosives in a glass box then exploding them expecting the glass box not to the break(your knees) DO NOT DO THIS. there are wayyy more better safer efficent ways to train while getting more healthier and athletic. THE BEST ONE IN MY OPINION, kneesovertoesguy, i am not kidding this guy WILL turn you into a freak of nature. you will feel like you can do anything. with his exercises months in. i increased my vertical several inches. Now i can finally dunk. Now i can jump and run as much as i want with ZERO knee pain. and my vert is increasing daily. just helping people out :)

  • I was (keyword was) 84 years old standing at 4”11 1/2 with a one inch vertical jump and could only touch my balls. Thanks to hard work and consistency and this video, I changed my life completely around. I’m now 19 years old and I’m currently declared for the WNBA draft. I can now jump across the Atlantic Ocean with ease. I dominated Candace Parker in a 1v1. Thanks to this video, I am now him/her.

Now I am like 24 to 26 vertical on a good day plus I lift heavy weights now. I need to jump 6 inches more. I am 6ft and on a good day I can grip and hang onto the rim. So 6 more inches and I am good.
