Sad thing is that the zoo is a safer environment for them. They are better off in there. Their natural habitat is being torn down and replaced with palm oil trees. They don't have a home to go back to. The landowners and foresters will kill orangutans on sight. Thats why Orangutans are an endangered species. At least we can keep them safe in zoos and sanctuaries. Otherwise, they will go extinct. So dont think of zoo's or sanctuaries as a prison, think of them as the last lifeline for a lot of species.

My philosophy teacher made me love all animals, especially these. The smile is so cute 😭❤. My teacher had told me before that they can do things faster than a human can. Like disarrange letters, then remove it, they'd remember things faster fr than a human, made me love animal's smartness.
Orangutans are always more dopressed than the other apes in captivity. It's like they are able to contemplate their own lack of freedom more than the others.

Sad thing is that the zoo is a safer environment for them. They are better off in there. Their natural habitat is being torn down and replaced with palm oil trees. They don't have a home to go back to. The landowners and foresters will kill orangutans on sight. Thats why Orangutans are an endangered species. At least we can keep them safe in zoos and sanctuaries. Otherwise, they will go extinct. So dont think of zoo's or sanctuaries as a prison, think of them as the last lifeline for a lot of species.

Yeah sadly many people dont get that zoo animal are often bored and can get depressed...
If it is possible that it was saved from poachers, personally it pained me to see it through this window, orangutan is not a dangerous animal, it is quite frustrating that it is locked up and cannot interact with the person drawing, of course all animals can get angry like us if we bother them but it is not a predator
