  • i’m 27 years old. i ALWAYS listen to music from the 80s. not a single song from the current century (apart from Eminem) is in my playlist, EVER. my mom, who was born in 1968, raised me and my brother with the same music taste as hers and this is one of many reasons i’m proud of her!!! MJ, duran duran, modern talking, alphaville, belinda carlisle and many, MANY other artists… god bless them for the great music they produced! as i said many times before, i wish i was a teenager in the 80s…

    • This song has been embraced by the Latino community and now I know what it's like to be in their shoes watching Eurovison. Gay is Gay is what this song should be called. It has also been influenced by Simon & Garfunkel - The Boxer with the Lie La Lie bit. The timing is different but that's pretty much it. That's enough to be original and a completely new sounding song so I give it a pass. Still..........Gay.

  • I remember 1985 like it was yesterday. I was 15 years old, had my whole life ahead of me and the music like this was constantly coming out on the radio. There will never be another decade like the 1980s! Best years of my life!

  • Todas las mañanas, el frio otoñal era implacable en la ciudad de México y calaba hasta los huesos, los vendedores de periódicos nos abrigábamos con lo que tuviéramos a la mano, como siempre ya sabíamos en qué momento pasaban en sus autos los que nos compraban los periódicos para eso había que estar al tanto, mientras esperaba con ansias a un vendedor de discos LP --- hoy tengo 48 años --- que siempre ponia esta cancion al llegar, la escuchaba con atencion mientras recordaba mi niñez vivida en la region norte del estado de Oaxaca, Mexico, una niñez llena de dolor, miseria y maltrato, una niñez en que que jamas fui el sueño de papa, mucho menos de mama, una niñez plagada de tormentos, y pedia repitieran esta cancion mientras soñaba con un futuro mejor, en la cual yo me juraba a mi mismo de que si el destino me daba hijos, yo jamás los trataria como a mi me habian tratado, añorando una vida mejor para mis hijos y hoy por hoy mis hijos son mis triunfos en la vida, aunque el destino me ha quitado una... ya que en la alta mar de la vida, una tormenta nos arrebato a una marinera, sin embargo por su recuerdo y memoria, jamas dejaremos naufragar el barco... y siempre la extrañaremos... Te quiero Aura Elisa, gracias por haberme permitido ser tu papa por 25 años, fuiste una gran hija y sobre todo un sueño a mi vida. te amare por siempre... claro vivir es vida, si la vida es muy bella a pesar de todo lo que sufrimos y padecemos, siempre sera hermosa la vida, "Live Is Life" por que "Vivir es vida"
