  • Did you have any cross over put in place? I have an X pipe waiting to go in, just curious since yours sounds fantastic with the stock mufflers.

    • Thanks! We do not have any cross over. We considered going either X-pipe or H-pipe, but in the end we just when straight.

  • No need for aftermarket mufflers imo,the stock ones sound great with the reso delete

    • Trevor Benoit Do you not get any droning with the resonator delete ? I’ve got a 4.6is and hope to remove the cats and resonator but leave the stock mufflers on.

  • This might be a stupid question but how much weight do you think you shaved off the car by going with the straight pipes?

    • Good question! It is hard to give an exact number, but I would think it was around 35-45lbs. That resonator was HUGE!

    • Well, do not get me wrong, this car is a BLAST to drive. It is loud, and the V8 makes it extremely soulful. And not to mention it handles like a dream compared to most sport SUV's. However, it really is not that fast. Being an SUV, it is very heavy. This is my dad's car, so I am not sure if he has any plans as far as weight reduction mods. I have been working on my STI a lot lately and not so much this car. I hope this information was helpful!

  • The big question for me is that is the car throwing any codes and do you know how well the back pressure is now that it doesn't have any resonators?

    • We have since sold the car, but it was not throwing codes as the cut was made after the O2 sensor. Also, we did not measure back pressure, but it was a big concern. However, if there was a change, it wasn't enough to feel it.

    • @@danielcarey3529 It definitely won't throw any codes, but it will reduce the back pressure. Looking back on it, I think a muffler delete was the way to go.

    • No problem, Thank You for the prompt response. Your Bimmer sounds absolutely Phenomenal.. I also really like how you filmed and edited your video, it flowed very well. Cant tell you how many stupid exhaust videos I sat through, and 75% of the clip is the guy walking to his car, and the remaining 25% is him only revving to 3000 rpm with wind blowing into the mic, thus forcing me to leave a mean comment.. LOL - Great Video Trevor!!

    • I know this is hella late, but a "straight pipe" refers to having no restrictions in the exhaust system. This means no catalytic converters, no resonators, and no muffler.
