People forget a tree's roots spread at least as far as its branches, so a tree within 10-15' of a house is not just a risk from it being blown over but also as its roots will damage & destroy the foundations & any pipes within reach. Best to clear them back at least 40-50' (a mate of mine in GA had an oak in his front yard send a root into his sewer line, which showed up when he had five of us as house guests & with the increased flow, everything backed up - all the way...).

@@jcmathisiii6432 its nice when clearing lots and get free fire wood out of it wich pretty good deal
Looks like a great lot for a new home. Especially now!!
Logs make a great disposable mud blade. Whether, clearing of forest during rain or cleaning muck out of a pond.
Wasnt sure we were gonna get any diggin action but here you are! Yay!!
Maybe you need cages on that machine! Your abilities never cease to amaze me. Who needs a skid steer to level that entrance out??
Cages for that machine would be up to his uncle, but I agree it would be nice to have them on his personal machine
Working on some clearing for a new road and house seat project ourselves we worked up to last week then this ice storm shut us down! Good looking job there ole buddy!
Another great video! Thanks for sharing. Kevin
Yeah, we’re catching that cold wet weather now! Then next week it’s going to be in the 60’s , crazy Louisiana weather! lol
Those little trees are just like short people. . .feisty with an attitude sometimes!! 🤣
Hi Chris, you made short work of that lot, well done
You do great work! Looks like rain and ice tomorrow.
That 160 is a beast! Stay safe everyone!
l was bored til you came on thank you from the UK. And l was binge watching your channel earlier today.
Chris clears it like it needs to be cleared. I've been on job sites where the contractor is a cheap one. they bulldoze out a spot just large enough for a drive and the foundation and leave a big wind row / pile in the back yard. step 2 steps away from the footings and your neck deep in palmettos and galberries. then the homeowner is left to deal with the "landscaping"
Probably has something to do with why he's never waiting to take jobs, too. Dude's in demand.
Chris knows what the meaning of “clear” is!
Chris seeing you post today is a relief, I heard of a tornado in N.C, hope all is well with you and your family.
I appreciate seeing the kind Volvosaurus felling trees.
Glad to see its dry enough somewhere up here , I have not been able to work in almost 2weeks.
Smearing the dirt with that pine log is like using that cheap 1-ply toilet paper at the gas station.
Gas station! My wife brings that crap home from the store 😜
When you can see your hand though the toilet paper. You wish you didn't eat that chili burger.
Beats rain, sleet and snow, like we've had here in Texas.
8in. of snow here in N.E. Arkansas. Overnight temps in the minus double digits.Up to this time it has been very mild.Love the channel .
Crazy weather all across the country! We are having an amazing winter here in Maine. Warmer then usual temperatures and not much snow. Water table is good in the area as we had a good amount of rain last spring and summer.
Count your blessings and be thankful it's just rain and not a foot of snow. lol
Nice to have enough different work to be able to work somewhere during the winter mud season , but there are still some challenges .
Awesome work Chris
Chris, you need to start a firewood business....with all the hardwoods you clear.
Problem is that nobody wants to pay for it.
Chris you seem to be getting as much rain as we are getting, lol. Thanks for sharing 🥰👍
Gotta love this NC weather, more rain coming tonight 😒
Calling for up to an inch of ice inland, we gonna get rain, I hope.
I see that Smithfield Chicken And BBQ cup. That’s my favorite place to eat when I visit my mom in Raleigh. We eat at the Wake or Knightdale location.
Jeff Hello hope you are doing great
The trees are like matches lol :)
Yeah Chris I think it's wet everywhere bud, it's rained or showed up here in western maryland all Winter, not much sun, can't remember what it feels like to be around dust, ya know the dust that dirt makes, thanks for sharing bud, keep rollin, no rest for the wicked ✊🇱🇷
I remember when you said "can't wait for some dust" , it's been a minute since then. At least fire dept stay bored.
Chris great video as always. Would b nice to set the camera outside... LOVE to hear the dign n cracklening of trees... 👍😊🌲
Looks too wet to have the camera outside, unfortunately
Uncle John, get back in the truck, Chris can do that with the bucket.
"What's he gonna do with that tiny shove" is what I shouted at the screen.
👍 awesome work! Only Chris can make mud lots look smooth!
Just sat down for the day!
I just about fell backwards in my chair 😂when the little tree smacked the cab! Chris didn't even flinch.
You scared the dog piss out of me at 12:20... lmao
Hey Chris, Have you got your covid shot yet, because you are truly an essential worker to your viewers. You help keep the sanity in us that don't get out much. Thanks brother, keep it up, we need you!!!: }
He was so sick in February I will always wonder if that was COVID.
Chris doesn’t buy the first model year of anything.
Let’s leave politics and pandemics out of this and just stick with watching Chris dig. Even though we get to see a lot of his life, his health and medical condition aren’t anyone’s business but his and his family.
@@mysterj1 Hey MR. BASS, I made the comment as a joke, I would never invade anyone's privacy!!! Secondly, I made a comment to Chris about 9 months ago , saying I thought he had the virus at the beginning of 2020, if you go back and watch when he was building the huge shooting range and pond. He was sick as a dog, and made a comment that he was sick , and had never been that sick in his life!!!! "OH MAYBE COVID-19 SYMPTOMS" Now before you go shooting your mouth off, watch more of his videos, and think about thing that you imply before you type/ or speak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a GREAT DAY ; }
@@privacyatty Morning Brother, Very good point never thought of that!! "TOUCHE" my friend. Have a great day ; }
I see you haven’t replaced the boards on the dump truck yet. Great videos and keep up the great work that you do!!!
I hope they checked all around that cemetery for unmarked graves. When I was logging we worked a tract around an old farmstead that had a small family cemetery. Folks came in and yellow taped it off but one of our machines found one away from the main lot. Boy what a mess that was. I would stay as far away from it as possible.
That area of the country has family graveyards all over the place. When they did a subdivision in Chesterfield county VA, they fenced a family graveyard off, what they thought was big enough. But we took my cousin Jane(who was 88 at the time) there and she said there were still three graves outside the fence. They were her direct relatives and she knew nearly everybody in it!!
SALUDOS CHRIS. ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO.
We could use a little rain in Arizona. An inch of rain is when the drops fall one inch apart.
Very talented operator! Great job
Woah!! There's something we don't see too much of (12:20)!!
Dang Chris, when I saw how sloppy muddy that lot was the next day, I was looking for the pond that you were supposed to be working on. You “rough “ grading with the 10’ log is better than most contractors finish grading. Get the new dozer out and in the mud, can’t keep it new and clean for ever!
I know you most probably know this Micheal but that new dozer is Chris’s personal dozer that’s not his uncles but anyway just saying have a great day brother
@@timmyfrierson2684 ,yeah I know it’s his personal. He still needs to get it out and get it broken in and muddy! I mean I would be willing to take a week off and drive up from S.C. and run it for him, just to help him out!
@@timmyfrierson2684 isn’t it about time for another guest appearance?
Love the videos always wondered why you don't cut the trees down I've done it this way but with a 5 ton machine and it was the only way I was getting the stumps out
Hey man I'm an operator myself. My son and I enjoy watching your videos. Ur about the smoothest operator on an excavator that I've ever seen. I like meeting new people in this line of work. But I can't help but wonder where ur from. I'm from good ol South Carolina.
Chris is from North Carolina
I bet the neighbours will be dead quiet in that neighbourhood!
Don't dig too deep on the left side!
The new residents certainly won't have a bone to pick with their neighbours.
I have said, it before. Got to love those in an out jobs !! Nice when you can get a few of those back to back and make some quick change....lolol... Guess we will let ya slide on that one little tree smacking ya !! lolol...That was just a fluke anyway, you never let that happen....lolol...I feel ya Chris on the Bad Weather !! We are on Snow Storm #2 right now , here in Western Ky. just started coming down again about 2 hours ago ! That first one has all the roads around here a sheet of ice underneath snow, now this one tonight !! Gonna be a really Big Mess around here tomorrow !! lololol...Oh well, is , what it is I guess !! lol...Great as always Man !! Have a Great Evening...And On too the Next !!
Chris, the tree you planted years ago. Then had relocated to the new Home stead. How is it doing since being re-planet?
kzhead.info/sun/etCNdLKGfpV8fHk/bejne.html he posted an update awhile ago
hey chris nice Dozer you got last weekend congrads!!
When you getting a tri axel dump truck
Love your channel! Been on a rented mini ex for the last month doing all sorts of things around the farm here and fell into a depression when I had to return it today...
And I’m in sc- I only got a half of what I needed done due to all the freaking rain !
I think you really enjoy digging in the mud if it isn't that you love having fires one or the other good video though and you have that tree hit your cab I don't know. 👍👍😀🇨🇦
Good to see a video this Wednesday evening - we missed you , didn`t have any posting Tuesday night,,,blame it on the weather. I`ve had 3 inches in the rain gauge in the past 2 days. Are you needing screens over the glass like on your new dozer?
U make this look so easy. A bunch of us want to go buy a excavator and some do go get a mini and it won’t cut through the roots lol
Chris, Hiiii this piece of equipment should be help full for you " Log Grapple Mini Skid Steer Vermeer" saving time for the Volvo !
Thank you Chris -- I made a similar rake but longer teeth and wider spacing between the teeth I can tell you for brush clearing it is just grate look this one up kzhead.info/sun/jblqfdifbXqpdKM/bejne.html --- there are many models to chose from -- ask one on trial !!! I think also about the model to rip pasture of the farm !!!
DIY ripper-tooth for 3t mini excavator THE TOOL to save time and spare the load on the excavators I made one it is just great !! You must think why this guy can't buy things...... Remember I am in French Guyana supposed to be part of France but if we have some special tool, it is always with "SPECIAL" price that hurt your savings.....!
At the beginning. When you pick your hand tool to distribute material but a huge monster does the job in about a minute :)
I'm kinda surprised. Usually Chris uses the skid stear to spread gravel around on drive ways and such. He's a master on the skid stear.
Like a cake decorator with a pine log.
I know I can swat the machine with a tree top, but I didn't think you could, lol! good job really Chris!
Awesome work! Sure wish I could operate an X one handed. Ha However I do enjoy watching you getting it done. You da man!
I can only imagine how efficient it would be if you had a smooth edge attachment for on the bucket teeth. love watching your videos daily!
@Sign In wrong kind of attachment. I said for the bucket teeth.
Man that Volvo seems quick
When you have 2 people work in unison it goes fast!
*Thanks, I needed that.*
Please show the little cemetery I find those old ones really interesting.
I walked in there the oldest I found was 1749. most were just marked with a rock
@@letsdig18 Wow 1749 that's super old that's 271 years ago. The ones marked with a rock a most likely slaves. Are you going to show it in a video? Thanks!
@@lidsman2221 nah I already left the job
@@letsdig18 Ok. Thanks for the reply. Look forward to the next video.
Why don't you use a geotextile under the stone on the driveway? it acts as a separation layer to keep the mud from the clean rock.
There is always one tree that fights back. Lucky it didn’t come through the window. On another note love your vids and it’s been said a number of times before but your vids are a great way to relax.
Nice job!!
Just be glad you don’t have grounds covered in ice like it is here in Mississippi
Blessings to those in Brunswick County in SE NC. Immediately thought of your fellow Carolinians.
I love how old mate walks over with a hand shovel. Chris: “hold my beer and watch this...”😃
More snow Thursday into Saturday Morning crazy WX. Monday night Ice storm Tuesday @noon 50f got to love living 20 miles South of Boston Ma.
I hear it's supposed to rain. Hmmm. 😀👍 Nice job!
Bom trabalho, excelente máquina.
Bom dia senor! Gracias!
Chris I laughed my ass off when John dumped that first little bit on top of the culvert and then jumped out with his shovel and run over there because he knew he messed up and I think he made three shovel fulls and said that’s enough Chris can get it with the excavator, lmaoooo, but anyway brother another great video and you and John and yawls families stay safe and keep the videos coming brother
I wish you were close to my house, I have about 50 huge pines that I love to see taken down. Everyone I call to do it comes up with a different excuse for why they can't do it!
They are wienieheads.
Freezing here in north mississippi and everything is white and Chris looks great as usual
I’m not sure, but,I’ll keep the snow over the mud. Been in the single digits here and teens in NE Ohio, but I like snow,I know I’m weird!
very good video chris !!
Maybe use a log to 'spread' the stone, like you use a log to smear the mud....just tinking out load.
Love the vid Let’s dig! I love the vids
No benefit to tracking in the base material at the site entrance? Just grade and slick with the bucket is sufficient?
Just wondering what do they do with the trees and brush , at the dump ? I know you are really good on the pond burn pits . Thanks for filling my days with your vids . I will be starting my new home rebuild up in Orillia Ontario. We don't have any mud its at least the 2 feet of snow , at least it is keeping the frost out of the ground . Have a great day Eh .
Snow in minnesota warm coming up
I love the way you just tell what u do - without "influencing" Sub !
Any live tree buyers? Looks like your rig can scoop and put in a nylon bag.
