this happens to mountain goats all the time. But you can imagine, they’re all out in the wild and it’s most likely almost certain that no one would trim them. so they’re stuck helpless, their own horns slowly seeping into their heads. this is why we need to send out more rspca teams out in the wild to find these goats and potentially rescue them.
@le1laa3 ай бұрын
Not even rescue, just tag and trim them occasionally. But their horns have done this for a long time and they aren't extinct so as horrible as it is, it can't be that much of a problem. I'm pretty sure I've seen a deer skull with an antler poking into the brain area. Makes me wonder if that killed them or something else.

The fact that this is a normal cause of death in wild goats is terrifying edit: I know they usually rub their horns on rocks etc to avoid it. My point is that when it sometimes does happen in the wild there are no humans to save them, and after a certain point they'll be unable to save themselves too. It must be terrifying having what was meant to be your defense mechanism, slowly turn to be your doom

this happens to mountain goats all the time. Not even rescue, just tag and trim them occasionally. But their horns have done this for a long time and they aren't extinct so as horrible as it is, it can't be that much of a problem.
In wild they rub their horn against rocks and rough surfaces. It's in their instinctual mindset. The same goes with any mammal and ancient humans nails and toenails. Rub on hard surface.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
in fairness it's not nature being cruel here, in nature they'd have been rubbing their horns against rocks or breaking them in fights in mating season, problems like this are only really a problem in domestic animals so if anyone's cruel i suppose it's humans lol

Babirusa do exactly this, if they live too long they can very easily have their tusks grow so long it's a death sentence
Notice how much he blinks afterwards!! He is so relieved he can blink without the irritation of the horn. Thank you for helping him ❤️
i think he’s just blinking because some dust from the dislodged horn piece might have irritated him, you can see when the horn was still there he was blinking just fine

Imagine evolving as a species and you developed this randomly like “We rolled a 2 for luck!” 😂
Farm animals stopped evolving a long time ago. The only thing deciding whether they survive and reproduce is their owners/caretakers. There is no "natural" selection for them. The same could be said for humans living in a society that protects them from harm/danger/sickness.
I an sure its less evolution and more breeding invoved ...

I feel like it happens less in the wild since they ran and fight which chips the horns
@@BrysonLIA g. X bby but I cut
It's genetic; sheep and goats in the wild typically don't have issues like this, or they DO die and don't pass on the gene to their offspring.
@@BrysonLIA beavers have to do so much to shave down their teeth, I would imagine that the horns couldn’t be simply chipped away by a fight or two

they'd prefer seeing an animal's eye being poked by their own horns and then eventually making their way to the brain.
Even if there was pain pretty sure the animal is willing to make that trade lol
Its like nails there is no pain

Ужас как страшно! Я не могу представить будущее этого создания 🤦Спасибо человеку,что смог избавить это чудо от ужасной смерти🙏❤
Cutting a horn is like cutting a nail for them So this is not animal abuse, they don't feel this if it's done properly ofc
It’s same for horses getting their Hobbes trimmed and shoed lol
I’m assuming it’s a lot like finger nails in that way. Just don’t trim too far and you’ll be fine :)
Hahahah even of it did feel pain it would not be animal abuse
i'm pretty sure their horns are the same material as out fingernails are so it's kind of just a weird shaped really strong fingernail lmao
Even if it hurts how tf would you ever consider this animal abuse? Bros gonna get his eye destroyed by the horn if they didnt cut it off
bro so in the wild damn imagine seeing death inching closer ever so slowly day by day and being powerless against it
then he’d smack it into his eye
@RicarTv how tf would he smash it without it getting into his eye? It’s not like he can make it sideways a bit.

That was oddly satisfying..like he must've been so relived after makes me feel relaxed
He probably didn’t care, I’m not being mean or anything, but goats and animals like goats don’t really care about their horns being close to their eyes until it’s fully touching the eye
@@rowen7894 yes, they probably dont care, like human species do - in a way that is thinking about it, but I still believe that he feels more relaxed. You can see at the end that his is squinting his eyes, almost in a way that he is adjusting his sight or not having something near his eyes.
@@rowen7894 Fr, they don't even really care even when it's reaching so deep that it's gonna pierce their brain Babirusa for example, these pigs die mainly because their horns turn towards their head and slowly pierce it open, it's actually good because then the old babirusa expires and the young new babirusa are left with more food

@@sophiebell4758 I've read about that too. One had a pic of it! I felt so sad for the animal!
There's a kind of wild pig with tusks that will grow curved up and back into their skull if they don't spend enough time rubbing them against trees to wear them down. Some skull specimens we're pretty horrific.
