I love them honestly. He's so immensely talented, as is Billie obviously, but out of the two he doesn't get sufficient credit for his mastery. He could be making so much more if he worked with other artists as well but he's dedicated and knows the artistry and magic he has with his sister. Beautiful.

this is insane. their music is highly produced and yet it's entirely home-brewed, using available sounds and equipment, and no auto-tune. just mind blowing.
that thought just speaks to finneas' production skills and Billie's harmonics in my opinion. They are honest to god musical geniuses that play off each other perfectly.
Their songs are not mixed and mastered by finneas. Professional engineers did that. But he is a very good producer!

But they don't use it because they think the singers can't sing, they use it because it just sounds better afterwards. I'm a music producer myself and it's just part of the normal workflow for a pop song.

i love it when you watch videos about artists and you can tell what happens to them on a psychological level when they get famous, make music, or hangout with siblings. three entirely different characteristics that combine to form one incredible person, then the process of one person can bring together many more talented as heck people. They are such a great team. You can tell by the terms she uses, and the references she uses that Billie knows her shit. She's so far from a teenage girl with a superstar producer. I've been a working drummer for 40 years, and i'm massively impressed by these 2.

Bedroom Artists/producers unite!
Bernard Finucane Yes, and it has been for some time now. Indie artists now days have the ability to make their own music at home for not much money, and self-release everything. In fact, many pro mixers, producers, etc. are even shifting to home studios because of this. The old model of paying tens of thousands of dollars for studio time is basically on the verge of obsolete, so studio owners have to be creative and have more to offer now if they’re gonna her work. My band HUE(s) produces and records all of our stuff in a garage home studio. Dumped a bit of money into sound treatment, good monitors, good preamps, etc... We’re totally self-sufficient. The only thing record labels and studios have now that indie artists don’t, is contacts. But that’s changing too.

Yes! I credit a lot of Billie’s success not only to Billie herself but to Finneas. His role has been so understated. He literally wrote the hit that put her on the map (Ocean Eyes) and contributes a lot to her other songs. He and Billie are such a good combo.

The most chilling thing for me is that they are always listening to the world with their musical ears. It's not like they just hear something weird and decide to put it in a song. They percieve the sounds musically and incorporate them into their songs. It's Mozart level stuff.

@@HughJorgan1 I mean, that doesn't really mean anything though... I'm not saying Billie's songs are bad and I'm not saying Elvis's or Whitney's songs are good (I haven't listened to many of them so Idk), but quality and quantity are two different things. So having more songs doesn't mean much.
Trey Atkins...Good points. What I mean is that Elvis and Whitney wrote hardly any of their songs. The fact Billie has more...already...is amazing. For Elvis, he wrote only about half a dozen (out of the hundreds he put on albums) and I don’t think Whitney wrote a single one. They were both essentially singing karaoke their whole career. I have far more respect for artists that write their own music. That said, I’d like to hear Billie do some covers in the future. Her voice is phenomenal.

now this is a clapback to all of those who say that Billie doesn't deserve her grammys and is overrrated. girl is a genius. Finneas is a genius.
she's good, but her brother is the genius behind her music. with no producer there's no song. she wouldn't have gotten anywhere without him actually making the song. vocals alone are nothing. but they are a good team
