Can you really understand a culture without eating its food? I test out this idea with Ethiopia.

I suggest you to come here to Ethiopia and see the real experience you will love it
I appreciate what you said. Thank you, Ethiopia, for waking me up every morning.

😂Why is this funny?
Much Love from Ethiopia.
Ethiopian food is so diverse and so good, you should try raw meat (kitfo) next!
I’m putting that on the list 😊
Great job. I am proud to be Ethiopian.
I love Ethiopian food. Never cooked it though
It was my first time trying it, was very tasty and well worth trying to make it myself.
Every Ethiopian cooks differently it depends on the woman or the man who is doing cooking because we all use berbere. Some of us use more ingredients on the berbere and some of useless ingredients, but the injera is always the same..and most of us we cook completely different than one another because my mom used to cook the old fashioned way her butter was real good and her cook was amazing 👏 🤩 👌 she went to be with the Lord Jesus in 2015 and she was 82 years old never eaten any other country food only Ethiopians 🇪🇹and thank you for trying Ethiopian 🇪🇹 food 🙏 ❤Ethiopian is awesome food unhealthy food and you will not be disappointed.
I’m happy to hear your mum has passed her amazing cooking knowledge to you. I will need to try some more Ethiopian food in the country itself.
Our biggest mistake in our food is ""sero""... We must not introduce it as our food to outsiders.... when they see it it create wrong picture in their mind you know what I'm trying to say....
Jupiter hirna
@jupiterplanet1316 😀 but you know shero is very healthy food 😋 😉 as long you don't let your mand wonder around.😊
@@jupiterplanet1316 😆😆 I hate Shiro. It’s slave food.
Definitely worth the 8 hour flight and taking the shots. Highly recommend.
Anywhere in particular?
@@mrcoban Lalibela and Gondar for sure (north), as well as the Omo Valley (south). Depending on what is happening when you go, Aksum (north) as well. I would recommend visiting Langano Lake if you have time as well in the Great Rift Valley.
I've taken a note of those. Any foods you recommend I try?
@@mrcoban Although doro wot is the national dish of Ethiopia, my favorite is shiro wot. Looking at your video, I like my shiro wot a bit thicker. I also love misir wot which is made from yellow lentils. For salad I love timatim fit fit. If you are feeling extremely adventurous, you can try kifto or gored gored. Both are raw meat but kifto is ground and marinated with spices and kibbeh (clarified butter), while gored gored is cubed raw meat.
Correction its not Doro wet its Siga wet its different dish
Thank you for bringing us along in this cooking journey.
At the start of your video when you said thank you for ma morning coffee, I was like you're very welcome 😂 great video keep em coming but ti be fair you won't get the real ethiopian variety cousins without travelling to Addis. Spend a bit of time in Addis before travelling out to rural areas! Also you mentioned about needing vaccines I think the websites might not have been refreshed since the last big fear 💉 all my family travels back and forth from uk & spain to Addis none of em needing a 💉 since late 2022. you can apply for visa online which costs less than £100 for a month and £172 for 3month visa. If you're interested in travelling to an ancient churches and see the volcanic eruptions round Affar region got a family in all inclusive tour business, give us a shout will drop the name for ya. Happy travelling & tasting the different cuisines 😇
you should come and visit Ethiopia it's unimaginable!
I’m am really considering it now
That looks amazing 😮
Come to Ethiopia please.
Loved your video❤ from Ethiopia.
Thank you 🙏
you did great man. the beef stew(siga wot) was done perfectly, you added the right amount of berbere, you sabotaged yourself when making the injera when you swirled the pan, that gets rid of the bubbles thats why there was a difference in injera. hop on that 8 hr flight man you wint regret it, youll love it here
I’m surprised it turned out how it did. I do want to come to Ethiopia and enjoy the culture and of course the food!
Thank you for trying our food
Hey, great content! I just found your page and wanted to send some encouragement your way. Get out there and indeed break out of the boring life!
Thank you! I am trying, let me know if you have any ideas to get me out of the house...my kids are as loud as I am 😂
great job for a first trial, looks yum yum
oh....it was sooooo good. Can I say that? Because well...I cooked it 😂
Heard about you from one of Derrals videos. I like your style a lot. I will come along for your adventure on KZhead! -Christian
I hope you enjoy the journey
Also let me know if you have any video ideas
come to ethiopia, you will see miracle bro!

Phonetic
U r a phoney
What are you taiking about go search you on food this is Ethiopian food. enjera is from amchara hidena qulqalehn bela Ethiopia lezelalem tenur 💚💛❤
@1:30 that was not Ethiopian music. It’s like saying you are talking about Chinese culture and then turn on Japanese music. Something minor but it could mislead.
Thanks for pointing that out. I put it as it’s a nice beat, not because it’s Ethiopian music.
@@mrcoban you should try Ethiopian music though! its insanely intricate and very diverse, i highly recommend it !
Yes Ethiopian music is completely different from what sounded like West African music. Like playing Iranian music on a trip to China
Just come to Ethiopia and taste the real food
I have to 😊
@@mrcoban ya u should 😊
@@mrcobanif you come bro I’ll help you get around and take you the very best authentic spots around Addis Ababa. I was born and raised in the UK but moved to land of my forefathers 3 years ago. If you decide to visit you’ll be in good hands 👍🏽🇪🇹🇬🇧
I will need to do it soon 🙏🏼 what’s a dish you recommend?
I enjoyed your video ❤❤❤
Thank you! 🤗
Can you actually go to Ethiopia you will have a great time
Will definitely need to go
Thank you so much dear brother!!! My lovely food!!
I need to try it again!
the soundtrack is african but nothing to do with the most ethiopian culture songs...bro / but thank you for yr try and thank you for yr wonderful post
Thank you. I liked the beat of that song, that's why I used it. Next time I'll have to find an artist from Ethiopia. Any you recommend?
This is a good date night video idea. Cooking classes! Specifically, trying a cooking class of a cuisine we’ve NEVER tried. Love it.
Definitely!!
👌👌👌wow
This video is very nice. next time try going to an Ethiopian restaurant or to Ethiopia. I am telling you it is worth it.
Yes definitely go to Ethiopia you will not regret it. And not bad with the cooking part to lol
😊 I try
Come to Ethiopia we are glad
Ur amazing 🎉
🙏
I wish you had first tasted some ethiopian cuisine before this class!
Yes come to Ethiopia
So amazing that you have learned. But….You should try the food in Ethiopian restaurant to have a better taste.
Come to Ethiopia 💙
Its looks good and better it is same to with in ethiopian
Shero is not the soup
Never made injera from scratch in my life😅 at this point, you are more habesha (common term for ethiopian and Eritrean people) than me!
come to Ethiopia
Woow 😮
Sir please let me know when come to ethiopia 🇪🇹 I will sponsor u all expenses promise 🙏
🙏🏼
you so funny and goofy 🤣hi from et
😂 I do my best
Why the question mark after culture
Please come to Ethiopia❤🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹
I really should!
Imagine if you went there with date partner, with that cooking skills 🤩
☺️
Would have been better if you had gone there and experience it in real life, you can visit some touring attraction plaaces too.highly recommended
I have to do this! Anything in particular?
❤❤❤❤❤good
👏👏👏
This man never stop laughing the time he got their 🤣
You'll definitely like Ethiopia. Come and see from the locals perspective.
It even worth more that 8 hour of flight, come and have life time experience. we can show you around.
🙏 I going to have to
woahh your so underrated
Oh that's very nice of you to say
Great content, do Sri Lankan again too
Maybe a trip to Sri Lanka? That would be nice!
❤❤❤❤❤
Shiro wotun he say looks like soup😂
i just watched how you poured injera dough🤣🤣🤣. if you are ethiopian every mama is like🤨
🗣❤️💯🇪🇹🔥🔥🔥⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
you should visit Ethiopia mate. You will enjoy it.
I will show you here in Ethiopia.
I would of followed you if you chose Ethiopian music for the sound track!🙂
oh no!.....I couldn't find any to licence for KZhead. But come on....admit that you like the song....it has a good beat ☺️
@@mrcoban true! and thank you for experiencing my culture!🙂
This is Ethiopia Come
I noticed you mentioned needing vaccinations to come to Ethiopia. Could you help me understand why that's necessary?
My immune system needs all the help it can get ☺️. Also some countries don't let you in if you don't have certain vaccinations.
only the fresh ones eat Doro wot with veggies on the side. We don't do that here in Ethiopia
😂
If i were you i would first go to the real restaurant abd taste the food then go to cooking class....i hope you will do more research abd try it again because Ethiopian food are heathy and delicate abd delicious but depend kn who cooked it
that's a good idea
vaccination is not requirement anymore
Unless you go to Ethiopia, you wiuldn't get the authentic taste of the food. Especially the enjera, it's no where close to the one made in ethiopia. When the different dishes are made in other countries, they do not taste the sane, the spices, the water used for cooking, and the other ingredients affect it.
I will have to try it in Ethiopia. I’ll get the authentic experience
I like how you used "Generic African Music" for this video lol. Do people really believe Africans are interchangeable? In 2024? You could've at least used something from north east africa, something that doesn't sound so foreign to an Ethiopian watching this video. Anyways everything else was awesome. Kudos for actually trying to make our cuisine👍.
ኢትዮጵያ Ethiopia
Why don't you use Ethiopian music for the video
please play ethiopian music when making a video about ethiopia! our music is very beautiful!
Hey, I couldn’t find any royalty free music to put on KZhead when making the video. Which singers do you recommend for me to look at?
@@mrcoban Teddy Afro is one of the best but i recommend the ethiopiques which is a set of albums of various ethiopian singers and classic songs. it’s really good for getting a broad exposure to different types of of ethiopian musics but particularly jazz.
Thank you for that. I'll make sure to look into them. Maybe in the future they will allow me to use their music.
Bro if u want real know the culture come here I will show you
🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹🇪🇹❤❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰
But wrong music
Yes...but it's good music 😁. Next time I will have to find a authentic song
@@mrcoban 👍👍
U can't do Ethiopian food any other country it is impossible specially ingera
ስላ💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💛✌️🎉🎉🎉
Why not use ethiopian song ? We have amazing music 🎶
I couldn't find any I could licence for KZhead. But a few commenters have recommended some singers, do you have any you like?
Teddy afro , rophnan and Gigi ..just to name a few of my favorite

Ethiopian man don't cook!
tjos is not what our food looks like you should go to the resturants and taste the real food not this
