  • Another amazing aspect is that the robot does not use any electricity at all. Everything is moved using the principle of leverage, etc. It also weighs only 40 kg.

    • Robots in the traditional sense of the word, do not require electronics, they are machines first and foremost. So this can encompass mechanisms like with an exoskeleton. Some robots are designed to mimic humans or animals like the disney Animatronics, various devices that blend puppetry with mechanics, etc. Robots can have some sort of program be it mechanical or electronic, and even involve a computer (again mechanical or electronic). They don't require any sort of artificial intelligence. They can be controlled remotely or from within. They can be autonomous or semiautonomous. So it the broadest sense, Robots encompass all sorts of automata, including those old fairground mechanical organs. For example: "In 1066, the Chinese inventor Su Song built a water clock in the form of a tower which featured mechanical figurines which chimed the hours. His mechanism had a programmable drum machine with pegs (cams) that bumped into little levers that operated percussion instruments. The drummer could be made to play different rhythms and different drum patterns by moving the pegs to different locations." But the scope and ability of robot devices, drones, automata and such as greatly increased with the advent of electronics. This exoskeleton suit would probably still loosely under the description of robot as: It is a machine (composed of pulleys, levers, gears, etc.), designed to replicate human motions and is slaved to the control of the human piloting/puppeting the suit. robot noun 1. (especially in science fiction) a machine resembling a human being and able to replicate certain human movements and functions automatically. Word originates from the 1920s: from Czech, from robota ‘forced labour’. The term was coined in K. Čapek's play R.U.R. ‘Rossum's Universal Robots’ (1920).piloting? or perhaps puppeting
