In 2050 Japan doesn't need tanks, they have Gundams.
Or japan could just mix the gundam and a tank so boom! A guntank is born
No, Japan will need more time to perfect it, say 2100

The craziest part about this is that Mobile Suits were explicitly referred to as only possible through Minovksy physics. The fact that people essentially are trying to brute force their way into making something that’s supposed to be *physically impossible* is inspiring.
We will do it, one of those days. Just you wait. The the world will fear us! XDDD
@Seamus O'Gil YESS!!! SIEG ZEON!!
Put a mass canceling drive in that thing and it could move pretty quickly

Ofc it's can do it. They just don't want to show it bec other country will freak out and launch a war
And that's just a mode it's on you really think they gonna show what it really can do
Yep
Don’t expect it to move that fast we’re in reality you really think there gonna make a live action move there
An incredible feat of engineering. I love the Gundam franchise and just to see one built to life size is amazing, but to see it move this much just blows the mind.
hgsh
To think that we might reach a point where (likely slow moving, but maybe actually fast) Gundams can actually exist is both amazing and terrifying.
its bitter sweet
It may take a while to get 18 metre mechs but u can see 5ish metre mechs in the near future alot like the ones in code geass

Japan is place where a creation can turn into something legendary .....no one working in the Gundam projects would have thought about this happening one day
To be the first person decades ago to put ink to paper and then to see this, would make them break down in tears. Just being a fan of Gundam, I know I would.

France 98!
YES
The biggest issue with a Gundam is it's weight. For a servo to move fast enough to be effect for combat it would need to be made of a something that could withstand the force of moving several thousand tons in seconds. All the metals and alloys we have at our disposal right now would snap under the weight. It's a beautiful dream; and great men make dreams reality; so keep it up Japan.
Good thing the smartest person in the computer system is here to tell us everything except for what the computer knows
Now the weight of an object on Earth with gravity would be different in orbit or deep space wouldn't it? Not by much, a few tons knocked off. Just a thought.
Amen ta that
Graphene to the rescue !
Wonder if graphene could be used amongst other things
The fact it can move *peroid* is austonding. The sheer mass and stress on the joints to make it even move slowly has to be astronomical. As a Gundam fan. This is just mind blowing. Almost unbelievable. Give it fifty years. Hundred tops and we may have something near indistinguishable from the anime minus the beam weaponry. (Granted this *moving* in universe was thanks to Minovsky particles. But it even has its own formulations and math behind it so who knows maybe there is a real equivalent. But the idea we can make a beam rifle or even a beam saber by using an I Field to contain and shape the energy density and maintain it I don't see happening. Maybe the beam saber with electromagnetic fields?) But now i.must enter space and spend time up there. If this is possible then I must free my soul of gravity.
No, there will be beam weapons for the Gundam suits as well as rockets and machine guns, we go all the way
we already have legit laser weapons that work, go search up US navy laser weapon...you will not be disapointed and...given the size of the gundam here it may have enough room for the power supply for the laser weapon to work on this thing...
Is that real or animated? Looks animated when it makes a step.

But missiles do better jobs it cheaper and effective .. war machines that can mimick human motions are useless if it was effective we would have had power suit now in wars

What's next 🇯🇵? Megazords
But think tho, that would be a HUGE hydraulic tank(s). There would have to be multiple systems with 1000s of hydraulic lines. Imagine the leak points and maintenance involved. The big mining excavators are over a million dollars per machine. This would take trillions
@@mistylover7398 It would not work. You need massive flow of hydraulic fluid and the pressure will be hit a star. The fact that it nearly 30 meter hight Will push the pressure more in the bottom. And don't forget about it weight after the use of hydraulic.

@@_u0nda928 if you watch the anime, the reason gundam or other mobile suit move so fast its because of minovsky particle. Probably about 8-15 years
I doubt this one will ever be able to support it's own weight. They will have made the legs as light as possible in order to make them movable. The RX-75 is probably one of the few kinds of mecha that could actually work in the real world. Maybe an OZ-08MMS Cancer since water would support it's weight easier. Both would still be highly impractical.

Blender is an amazing program.
The robotic voice of SpongeTron echoes through the minds of people: "Welcome to the Future"
What's even crazier about this is that the construction crew was able to assemble this using only a pair of nippers.
I didn't read all the comments so I am not sure if anyone pointed this out, but just so you don't get too excited, the whole mass is supported by the moving structure behind it. This is actually just a front to the very large structure which moves it back and forth. If you look closely, you see it moving behind the "robot". The movements are interesting and quite a few actuators and nice mechanisms are involved, but apparently they don't actually do anything with bearing the whole weight of the robot or keeping it's balance. Remember, balancing a giant robot like this requires a hell lot more of additional mechanisms and a huge amount of energy. You would need a 90 litre engine to move this. So they simply (and un-necessarily expensively!) built a lifting structure that also moves back and forth, built a robot shell in front of it, added moving hands and feet that immitate walking/raising, and the whole heavy lifting is done by the support structure. Nothing fancier than a couple of cranes attached to a torso. For those who didn't notice this, sorry to burst your bubble. More importantly, even a fully operational unit of such thing would have no use in real world, not even in a war. A bunch of tanks and planes would be much more effective and much less expensive.
true!
Maybe a couple of years later we make a electric engine that can handle that amount of weight
