How to make a Box Offset !!! 2x2 Method of Course!
Today We will be going over how to make a box offset it’s a pretty simple process but when you first joined the trade it might seem a little difficult at first however throughout the video I will describe how to do this particular task simply and saw that you will be able to remember it at a moments notice
2x2 Method has been something that I have been using since I was a Wee apprenti it’s the easiest way for me to remember they just comes off the top quickly
Some tools that you will need include bender a tape measure and a pencil hey do you have some personal favorites of these particular items that I will share with you
for tape measures I like Klein tool they have a fairy easy tape measure that has all kinds Of different knowledge pertaining to electrical in it physically on it I also like the Cresson tools or Lufkin black tape measure it’s the one I use on the field every day classic to classic function it’s in my hand it’s not too bulky it’s perfect there’s printing on both sides of the tape
@KleinToolsVideo
Four benders I cannot say enough good things about the ideal blue handle vendor in particular the blackhead one which is the steel seems to last longer than the aluminum it’s a little heavier but totally worth it

Using a stand-off strap/pan-hanger/Mini within 3', Works every time 🤣
Thank you
Great illustration bro 👊
I do a 3x3. I like the new intro.
When I’m really feeling it 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 lol
This is like the Mr Roger’s version
This dude just finished blazing...and decided to make a video about bending a box offset..
Cool vid man. Only thing I hate is you make the perfect offset then find the wall ain't flat so you have to just tweak the bend again.
I did 2x5 with 10 degrees. Did a whole wall with 10 boxes aligned and every single one was exact box offsets. At the 4” mark I noticed it would get on my first bend and it would take some bend off to me. 5 leaves it a lil past the bend so it makes true offset.
Why ? The whole point of the box offset is create a smooth of a look as possible . 2x5 is unnecessarily wide in my opinion . 2x2 is perfect .
True offset ? We want a BOX OFFSET . let me guess. Your no more than 24 ?
I use 2×5 also 👍 but not in the air, I already got a feel for it,,, also using a torpedo level on the second bend, making sure it's straight
I should buy a conduit bender. I did a 20 feet conduit run for my security camera. At the junction box the pip going into that hole doesnt look like a pro job lol. Thanks for the great video.. Keep it up
I was taught 2-1/2 then 2 , I’m guessing it’s something someone else made up lol
I suspect both are about equally good and it comes down to personal preference.
How do you guys actually do this job? Are you aware of the math behind it? Doing a box offset requires a 3/8” offset. Using 10°bends calls for a multiplier of 6. So 2-1/4” Space between markers. “The way the professionals do it” is use the right math.
