They all have to work together without wasted movement and without tensing up out of sequence. If you study certain animal strikes… like big cats, they do the same thing naturally.

  • I've worked out on traditional heavy bags kzhead.infoUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.

    • @Tiger Black If he's loading up on the heavy bag sure. It's bad practice if you're going to box competitively because you develop bad habits in training that almost always carry over to an actual boxing match. People are still going to do that sometimes, like with the machine that measures your punching power. That kind od thing is understandable though. When he's sparring he doesn't load up and/or telegraph like that. Even when he's training he doesn't load up the same way, although he does load up a little bit. I highly doubt you would see him do that if he was actually boxing someone. I don't think it matters anyway, man isn't trying to become a boxing champion.

    • @NoxVespius I never used wraps of gloves. But trained in Jujitsu with a old school instructor. Although Jujitsu is known for Grappling especially since BJJ we used a lot of strikes too. He never allowed gloves. His reasoning being you can't wear gloves in a fight outside a ring. So my only knowledge is from that. I've always had strong punches. Not on this lads level but not far off. I never suffered any injuries striking apart from cuts from slipping off bags/pads from not hitting flush. Something I stopped doing after a while. I find it surprising anyone could damage bones punching a bag or pads. Maybe what you're saying about the reason for gloves is correct. But what you're saying about technique isn't. If you don't strike flush and slip off that bag without gloves you'll shed and cut your knuckles. Especially if you strike hard.

    @carl1212@carl1212 Жыл бұрын
    • Yes because weightlifting is a very slow action. It doesn’t help at all to be able to lift more weight slowly. It’s about speed and creating the most force, thus creating the biggest impact and more penetrative strike. What makes bag pop is the material snapping back from being caved in for a split second. It’s about being able to strike with maximum impact , not being able to push the hardest. That’s why people who look at how much the bag moves to indicate power have no clue what they’re talking about. If you swing a fist size sledge hammer at a bag it will just punch a hole through from the impact. It would not send the bag flying. Theoretically the most spectacular powerful punch in the universe would have your fist just punch a hole through the bag and your arm would be stuck in it or go through it. With how much velocity can you accelerate your mass is the 🔑

  • My older brother who is not with us anymore. He was balding, 5’9”, overweight and small hands, but he hit like a house falling on you. I use to listen to him hit the heavy bag and was scary sound. He would get into a fight and it was usually one punch, without a glove and his speed and power it was over. I was a football player, but no way I get into a punching fight with him. Learned at early age never, ever judge a book by its, you know the rest.

  • Technically... He's not that power puncher, he only knows how to use hip rotation that generates torque and proper use of leg and feet to transfer the force to his fist while hitting. Its not about just punching.. its about the proper execution. Even you are skinny or no professional experience, if you are doing it correctly, you can also punch like that.
