    • When they have less time to fuck around and a unit that few can ever enter, it actually does tend to create a relaxed instructor, because the standards are just the standards, and they have to tell countless guys they didn't make it that go-around.

    • The entire hardass mentality was invented in the 60's when the US needed to conscript random average joes who had spent the previous 10 years in a cushy office job to ship them halfway across the world and set random asian people on fire. It has long outlasted its original purpose and exists for no reason other than to make bloated welfare queens and other slightly-above-mediocre men feel good about themselves.

      @chunkspiggle3916@chunkspiggle39166 ай бұрын
    • Exactly. I don't know about the Spanish SF, but generally most SF only recruit from already trained soldiers and only the very best, so the need to be that hardass drill instructor is not really as necessary when everyone is already an experienced soldier. But I bet he can and will be tough to the applicants when and if it's required.

I saw a girl scream with a panic attack in the tunnel (though we did it with more people, going in both directions). This guy's form is absolutely outstanding. You have to have tried this kind of thing to understand how good of a form he has.

    • Not trying to be rude, when was the last time Spain was involved in a war? 1815? They stayed out of all the World Wars and to my knowledge haven’t been involved in anything significant in over 200 years. How many generations of Spanish soldiers have never seen combat? All of them. No Spanish soldier alive today, nor their fathers or grandfathers or great grandfathers have ever been in combat. If I’m misinformed, please correct me, like I said I’m not trying to be rude, I’m genuinely curious. I respect that Spain is nothing like my country and in perpetual wars for Israel and billion dollar corporation profits. Our military are basically just mercenaries at this point, they’ve done nothing to “defend us or our freedom” like NPC bootlickers like to parrot.

The tunnel/maze test was wild and was definitely more mental than physical. The adherence to strict form in the calisthenics portion increased the difficulty dramatically. Adding weight to the run at the end tested both your physical fitness and mental toughness. The Spanish Special Forces is definitely looking for a specific type of warrior and I gained a tremendous appreciation for the men and women who qualify, and for you. You are a world class athlete. • That's because his performance in that 3000m test was honesly hard to believe. Most people who dedicate themselves on some sport other than endurance (like Magnus) would find it a bit tough to sustain that pace (5:15min/km) even on level road without a 20Kg vest. I mean sure, some would do 4:30min/km, but with a 20Kg vest and uphill? To me that's like doing 40 pull ups in terms of relative difficulty. Mind you running downhill with that vest must not be that great at all for the joints. I mean, he got a 10, which means no other soldier had ever run as fast, and surely there are some beastly soldiers out there for whom 20kg would be a much smaller percentage of their weight, think about it.
