  • I'm a real boxing fan from the 80s till now and this documentary has given me a timely reminder of why so many obvious boxing matches take so long to be made or are never made. Also, it explains why I have seen some 'name' boxers lose a fight to a lesser-known boxer but win according to the judges. An investigation needs to be done into boxing and UFC judges in my humble opinion.

  • This was a very well-done documentary from start to finish. It sheds light on the "behind-the-scenes" machinations of prize fighting. My heart is always with those who muster the fortitude to step into the ring to risk their lives for our entertainment, a questionable yet admirable endeavour. Regardless of how we interpret them, Promoters - possibly the human equivalent of vultures waiting for prey - play an enormous role in making fights happen at each and every level of the fight game. Still, Promoters seem to prey on the emotional yet lucrative aspect of boxing to make millions for boxers and themselves. One thing I protest against is having Don King's sole image on the face of this documentary. If we are to believe the details of this documentary, Bob Arum and Cedric Kushner are as equally culpable. The Face of this documentary - along with Don King - should include the images of Bob Arum and Cedric Kushner.

  • The problems are many in professional boxing, but these 8 points here are some of them: 1. Rival networks (HBO, Showtime, PBC, Sky Sports, ESPN, DAZN etc.) not able to co-op with each-other better brings signed boxers down from best possible matches. Also the viwers lose out as they are forced to pay for additional broadcast services... 2. The insane PPV costs! ex. Tyson Fury vs. Francis Nganno in a non-title bout to add demanded $80 per viewing (!) you can't demand such outreagus prices and still expect people to support it. 3. To many boxing organisations rule with the WBC, WBA, IBF & WBO and it gets boxing not only more complicated for the audience to determ who is THE champion but also difficult to the best boxers to prove that as well as they all have there own ratings/rankings that can both include and exclude certain boxers in each division from entering there ranks. Ex. take Mike Tyson as shown before. He could be WBC 1# = next in line for a title shot, but being ranked 5# by the WBA, 7# by the IBF and non-ranked by WBO (?) how is that dependble rating system for the casual boxing fans to understand as even invested fans have a hard time getting it. Paying for the rankings is BS as such recognition should always be EARNED by winning fights and more so to important fights. 4. It should never be allowed to have promotors and managers interfere with the ratings in any weight class of boxing. They should follow them as all else and accept what they can get. 5. A promotor should not be allowed to have several listed boxers of same weight division die to the risk of having fixed matches and corruption involved + risks of favouritism contra neglecting others among the most important problems 6. To difficult with unifying champions to become UNDISPUTED champion. That should always be the 1# importance and bu that allowing all champions to do that with-out any rejections. 7. The organisations must Put on more pressure of recognised champions to make 2-3 fights a year in order to remain champions (excluding well documented injuries from doctors) where 1 mandatory is fought, one top 5# is fought and then one 10-15# ranked is fought evrey year. Having fighters like Tyson Fury lump around holding his WBC title, but never fighting any top rated opposition since 1.5 year back and still be allowed to be champion is plain out wrong. 8. Pay the trainer 10% + the manager 10%+ (conservative) + the promoter 30% + sanction fee 3% plus and other fees etc plus uncle sam taxes! Boxers are getting truly shafted and there must be regulations done here. Ex why should the promotir earn 30% when that person is doing the least work for the boxer involved?

    • Even with that said, boxing still has its frank warrens and others…. Wrestling, all the same, the promoter is the man who makes the money, he makes these unknown people into global superstars, he’s the guy matchmaking them for the big pay days! Who else is going to pay them what they make? Do you think there is a batter option? As bad as you may see mr White being by exploiting the fighters, re,ember he’s also the guy who offered a deal which the fighter signed, if they could make more anywhere else then that’s where they would be…. You can blame white for making money in his business thats what business is, he has vested his time and money in making the ufc the industry it is and deserves what he makes for doing so.

  • With all the money that can be made today, and I can’t blame them boxers want to keep their marketability going as long as possible therefore, it is in their best interest to not meet the guy who has the best chance of winning. Eventually, if he is champion, long enough, they might meet however, it is usually past the point of when it would have been the best fight for the public.

    • Francis didn't get robbed in that fight. He exceeded expectations true but wasn't robbed. If you want to see a very obvious robbery at a level bigger than the Fury fight watch Pacquiao vs Bradley. Pacquiao took Bradley to school and was straight up robbed. Nobody had Bradley winning that fight. No experts trainers nobody but those judges. How that fight wasn't investigated I'll never know but there's def fights on a major level that stink. Even MMA has problems with it
