He was a war hero with two Bronze Stars and an Honorable Discharge, for his service with those courageous WW2 vets. He had sclerosis of the liver from compulsive drinking for years as an alcoholic. I've been 38 years sober since I was 'born-again' at the old Steuben County Jail in Angola Indiana back in '81. Askren got LUCKY AF that knee didn't connect with him like MVP's knee hit Santos. It glanced of the side of head instead of headon collision

    • I think the height difference between page and Santos boosted the power of the knee compared to Askren and masvidal. People are also so quick to overlook that Askren (despite not being able to throw strikes) is as tough as a brick. He got pile-driven upside down onto his skull by Lawler and still came back to win. He was a world champ in both bellator and onefc over many years where he faced loads of world class strikers.

    • Listen here, amigo. You are 100% mistaken. The knee hit the center of his forehead and caved in his sinuses. It's a matter of both public record and prizefighting history. There are literally *THOUSANDS* of examples of his x-rays and the famous picture of him after the fight with the huge dent in his forehead. Had the knee hit the jaw, Santos would have been unconscious instead of falling to the floor and *CLUTCHING HIS FOREHEAD IN AGONY.* A little Googling before cocksure posting can save you this type of embarrassment due to ignorance in the future.

    • Evander Realdeal I mean bro if u watch that fight mvp was hitting Lima in the face a lot. Lima even said it after the fight, and I’m just saying have you ever seen a fight where someone gets knocked out while they are standing up? I’ve seen it in plenty of street fights but I can’t remember another professional fight where that happened. Maybe Lima would have won the fight anyways I’m not taking anything away from Lima I love Lima he is a beast and a really good guy, but in my opinion mvp was winning the fight up to that point. The stats even show that. Even when Lima got on top of mvp that first round he couldn’t do anything with it. I’ve watched so many fights and all I’m saying is I’ve never seen a fight end where the guy gets his leg kicked out, then as he is standing up gets hit on the chin and the lights go out. I’m not even saying mvp would for sure beat Rory or Lima but I do think his style is something special and his elusiveness is something I’ve never seen before, even Steven wonder boy thomson isn’t as elusive as he is. But I just think mvp made a simple mistake trying to stand up too fast when he wasn’t in a safe zone to do it an paid the price. But he will be back he is world class and there’s a reason he was undefeated, people can say he wasn’t fighting elite level fighters and that’s true however at the end of the day he is fighting another human who has trained to fight so it still takes something special to put down another human even if they aren’t on ur level. That’s all but only time will tell if mvp keeps winning and gets back to fighting top level fighters then we can find out how good he truly is. Also when is the last time you saw Paul Daley try to wrestle his opponent? Only time I’ve seen is again mvp so that let’s you know something special is going on

      @ChrisLee-xq9le@ChrisLee-xq9le4 жыл бұрын
    • @@ChrisLee-xq9le But MVPs attacks compared to Stylebender technical striking is night and day. MVPs flashiness is great for highlight reel KO not good against elite strikers. He did hit Lima with solid jabs to the face but that was his best shot throughout the fight. He was swinging wildly and missing most of his power shots. Lima cautiously dismantled MVP with a solid leg kick counter which tripped MVP to the ground and MVP whose squishy in the ground game decided to use his hand to stand up instead of using butterfly guard to defend leaving his chin for a highlight reel KO that's why most fighters don't do this. It's not advisable to do this in MMA because fight continues it doesn't stop compared to boxing and kickboxing. Lima was not lucky he was cautious of his attacks and his defense against power shots were solid. It's not like his face was busted and the only to win is by KO. YOU'RE AN IDIOTIC FANBOY.
