Gegards record is just insane
Machida is the man even though he constantly gets screwed by shitty judges he never complains and always respectfully shakes and congrats he's opponent mad respect💯💯💯💯
Shaun Ferguson what??
JuiceHead
Constantly?
This was not a screw job. He did not do enough in this fight. I'm a big machida fan he was screwed with the Phil Davis fight and rampage, but not this he really wasn't there in this fight
He landed one punch in 15 minutes
Bellator= Life after the UFC
Mousasi was never given the attention he deserved in the UFC
Not Mousasi’s case. He left himself willingly
Cala a boca seu afeminado.
@@abumarcus9521 a rare case, but they offered him a better deal so I might understand that!
Mousasi is a boring scared fighter..entire three rounds , he never came forward
Gotta say, I haven't seen this fight yet, but these two have definitely fought the best around the world. There's no padded record for either one of these fighters.
@Weghweh Hwewehwhe they've been fighting for such a long time now, so many fights. I can't believe how great they still look for such a lengthy career.
@Weghweh Hwewehwhe They did fight in 2014. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFC_Fight_Night:_Machida_vs._Mousasi
@Weghweh Hwewehwhe They did fight earlier several years ago. Machida won that one
This is why you never put two counter fighters up against each other. Without the will to engage with confidence, you end up with an incredibly slow paced fight.
great way to put it. but sometimes these matchups have to happen and watching them being technical can be great to watch & study
Absolutely true. Not that I would expect any fighter to walk into punches just to press the action but COME ON...at some point you gotta be able to make something happen. This waiting game for the opponent to make a mistake is only making you tense up and then, when those hands need to go, you freeze or you overcommit, so yeah I think you should be able to fight more than just one style. Machida is who he is (and I hate that type of fighter) but for a fighter of MOusasi´s caliber it was just lame to not make adjustments
Watch their first fight
Yep just like Woodley vs Wonderboy, total waste of time.
Exactly. Most of the time, this happens. Every now and then you'll get a finish out of the blue, if you're lucky.
The real winner of this fight is that ref's wicked beard braids.
mike beltran is the man
He stole a moussasi 's bout years ago, in moussasi vs keith jardine
@Weghweh Hwewehwhe . . . flawless . . . victory .
Asterix won
I like to think he goes back to forging battle axes and war hammers after he ref's fights.
When Machida landed that headkick, I was like ohhhhh shiiiiittt! If it was a 5 round fight, things would have been much more different.
what would be different i would have fallen asleep? it was a 2-minute scuffle...
This reminds me of a video game left on without pausing.
Lol
Wahahahahha
that's a rare insult.
Art Hillis Dude wtf. Accurate comment.
This fight sucked michael venom page & finishers only
They played MMA chess... ton of experience between these two guys..
Nobody wanted to be the first to make a mistake.. however I credit Machida for taking that risk with the head kicks, even though he then lost balance and had to pull guard.. he still landed more shots from the guard and nearly submitted Mousasi..
00pp000
I bet nobody in Mousasi's BJJ class wants to roll with him because he has that gay gaurd
Nick C HAHAHAHAHA NO.
How is a guard gay? I don't see what's wrong with his guard

k c Loving on big butts is productive.
That's fun to realize that some guys think a fight is always worthless strategy. You may not like the style, but for sure these fighters are extremely smart and give a lot of value to the sport.
Your right but these two in this fight basically just cancelled each other out. I do love strategy but this had a little too much.

@@nicolaschophi4080 in english please
Not fun at all, pretty lame actually
Wtf is that 3rd judge is watching? 30:27? Really?
Although Machida almost had the submission. He barely had anyvstrikes. Fell down like 3 times. Took some combination punches to the head. The Other guy did more. Machida waited till the 3rd round ti rev it uo, but then it dies down pretty quick and was back to the xhess fight. The other fuy git on top but is clearly not a grappler ir submision expect and so Machida gotvthe jujitsu choke, but the clock ran out.
I called the fight for Mousasi but 30/27 is ridiculous. Gerard landed more significant strikes/damage but Machida was never in any real trouble.
Mousasi was more dominant all rounds. Simple as that
@@SuperCucko Yeah this is my problem with 10-9 vs 10-8 judging. I can totally see gegard getting 10-9 for the first 2 rounds. But machida just plain put gegard in more danger at the end of the 3rd and clearly won the 3rd with good strikes, more strikes from bottom and the super close sub compared to good strikes and one takedown that absolutely nothing was accomplished with besides getting clobbered and almost subbed. So the clear 3rd for machida is a 10-9...because to get a 10-8 the other fighter has to completely be dominated the whole round but that's worth the same as gegard barely outstriking machida in the first two? Like I see gegard winning by round. But I feel like Machida won the fight. Machida was never in any danger besides being slightly dazed by a good shot but not knocked down or anything 10 more seconds he might of subbed gegard. I hate fights like this.
@@GinoNL Lol that's criminal to say gegard dominated all three rounds. He got one good strike in and one takedown. Besides that all he did was barely outstrike machida. Machida got a few good head kicks, clobbered gegard on the ground while gegard strugged to land anything after takedown and almost got the sub.
The last judge misjudged that fight! There's no way he went 30-27! That was a draw!
First two rounds are heavily debatable. Whoever you pick that "won", those rounds won by razor thin margin. 3rd to me was clearly machida. He landed just as many sig strikes, landed more on the bottom and put gegard in serious danger at the end. Up to that point what could be called a solid strike from gegard on machida was the best of the fight and it wasn't a knockdown or anything just a solid shot. I'd say 29-28 Machida. I feel like he won either 1 or 2 and to me clearly won the 3rd.
@@Vegeta68041 How could Machida win the first two rounds? always going backwards throwing kicks to just keep distance, Mousasi had control of the octagon and better strikes.
The third round is not clearly Machida either. The things that score points is kicks, shots that land and ofcourse a takedown is a big scoring point as well. Machida landed a bit from the bottom the first few seconds, but that wasnt anything substantial. he was just taken down and put some pressure on him but by tapping him a few times. Also at the end.. the quiotine.. isnt actualy a thing that scores points unless he taps. Which he didnt. Then all it is is just a position.. wrapping his arm around his head. thats not an actual scoring card point.
Looked like 2-1 Mousasi to me. Won the first two; Machida took the 3rd.
So where was the 10-8 round? I don’t think you understand how the judging works it’s impossible to call this fight a draw that’s not how it works
great fight. anyone complaining about slow pace or inaction, needs to understand that these two warriors respect each other's power. one mistake could cost them the fight. mad respect for these two fighters.
Its funny. No run into his fist.

Lyoto "The Sleeping Dragon" Machida
Definitely not a fire-breathing dragon in this fight.

Lyoto is still the best
É uma lenda mais luta muito chato
Machida stil with that great hearth even after 40s nice to watch, great fight
The last round should have went to Machida. He had most of the control on the ground.
I had it 1st and 2nd round for Mousasi
JON-SAB MOTO -Same, but 2nd was close as well. Either fighter winning would’ve been fine. That 30-27 judges card is the only negative thing
Machida did fall to the ground the 3rd round. Its cuz the other guy lacks jujitsu, grapling and submision skill. He had combos and was the agressorvfor all 3 rounds.
@BIGMONEYJEFFAFA MAchida had the better strikes (including kicks) and the better ground game in round three. The first round was a slight edge to mousasi, the second was very close.
Honestly who cares. Machida didn’t do any damage in the ground. A few weak slaps. The choke wasn’t a real effort, he was just running out the clock since he was on bottom.
The bell is ringing but the fight never get started
BRAVO GERARD MOUSASi
The most tensed Mousasi ever look in a while
Cause he got ragdolled and lossed the belt before this fight. Raphael Lovato is a monster.
@@too_sturdy Give me a break, that juicehead won on rounds that he controlled, but Gegard beat his ass, dropped him, and almost finished him twice.
WOW. Rarely do I complain about a decision, but Machida was robbed. Not only was he in control of what turned out to be a defensive battle, but he had control of Gegard at the end.

Machida won that fight! They do t want to push machida forward the plan was for him to lose. And so it is!
I don't know about the not wanting to push Machida, but i thought he won as wel 2-1. I don't understand the scoring. TBH, i think Mousasi was kind of surprised also.
🙄
That choke at the end was wrenched in I guess he tucked his chin in and just held on untill the time ran out.good fight

Musashi ...A mystery to me, I don't understand my craving for watching his fights , admiring them , disillusioning them ...Musashi-the greatest fighter of the 21st century , by far ! (IMHO. ) Machida is certainly a LEGEND, the legend of the entire cultural, correct philosophy of fighting without rules . This fight is chess very experienced and respected . People circuses and blood want ? It is a pity, this fight in other category .
GEGARD BEST💪💪💪
i thought when he sent Rashad flopping to the canvas he was going to be the one to break the LHW curse at the time. then Shogun happened...

Hard fight to judge but fight ball blue (gloves) won first and second imo and could maybe make a case for the third however hoenstly every round was close

Not an eventful fight, should have been scored a draw. I guess that's the problem with Machida's ultra defensive style, however he has been on the winning end of some close decisions in the past as well...
What a "fight". Mousasi landet two good shots, Machida three or four "OK" ones. To make it worse, when Mousasi finally took him down, he ended up making nothing out of it and Machida actually did more damage off the back. These guys should have played Sudoku.
should have been a no contest
AJ lawless you mean draw.
I wish Mousasi would be more aggressive. Seems like he waits 99% of the time to counter. Gets obnoxious after awhile, forcing your opponent to take the risk.
The difference between UFC and Bellator is head movement.
Israel Adesanya is proof of that
i think it's the spelling

I wish I had Machida's respect for others. Humbleness.
Not the right decision by judges. Machida owned the whole fight. Dude was sitting back scared of leg kicks the whole time and finally machida tripped up and pretty much owned the ground the entire time on his back.
Oops not like that I mean this fight is like watching someone get into a cold pool...

How is Bellator offering this as their free fight? High level snooze fest.
It's for the old school MMA fans, these guys are legends.
Its highly technical, both are very good fighters
@@czardavid6710 obviously but you're not gonna bring in fans by showing them this fight. It was hilariously bad. And I love the sport already.
@@timoteojuans1964 It wasn't "bad". You just thought it was boring, probably because you don't have an appreciation for these particular fighters, know their styles, histories, etc. Was the action a bit slow? Yes, but that doesn't mean it was a bad fight.
@@yugen I appreciate Mousassi a lot actually he's an excellent fighter. But that wasn't the issue. The issue was their style nullified each other and it was boring. And my point was that Bellator shouldn't have made this a showcase fight for the sport because it isnt going to bring people into the sport.
Machida's reflexes aren't the same , back in his prime he was untouchable... Now he gets clipped here and there which is still great at 41 yrs old...
I’ve got Mousasi rounds 1 and 2 (10-9), applying more pressure, control, and capitalizing on more signature strikes. Slow fight but anyone who thinks Machida won this fight is simply a Machida fan. Round three could have went either way due to the submission attempt; nevertheless, it would not change the outcome. Mousasi 29-28 in lackluster event. 30-27 is not a bad card, it could have very well been scored that based on Mousasi’s superior striking and take down with top control.
The thing is Mousasi didn't have control on the takedown. He was on top, but Machida was consistently striking, consistently moving as to keep Mousasi from getting into mount. It was all Mousasi could do to keep Machida from returning to his feet, but he in no way won that ground exchange
I always watch this to cure my insomia

after seeing gegard vs Rafael, im cool with the slow pace in this one..... that other one was too much for my blood pressure
It's all greek to me...
Gegard is good
Romero Vs Izzy and this fight were the most technical fights in the most recent years.
For character - definitely a victory of Mousasi
It's funny how if you look at both of their fights, at the end of each Machida was on the verge on finishing him.. First fight, Lyoto landed a flying punch (ground and pound) on Gegard and if the round went 20 more seconds he would have TKO'ed him. Second fight, Lyoto almost choked him out. Machida was robbed ):
Who got it draw for this one? I believe machida won 2 rounds by1 piont and gegard won 1 round by 2 point.
Talal Alajaji lol
If I ran Bellator I would come out like Vince and be like “ Sudden death!... Referee... put 5 minutes on the clock! “ *crowd screams*
Start dropping weapons in the ring.

Yeah, both are such high level fighters you cannot even see the punches/kicks!
this fight is awesome because both fighters are good.
Tight and cagey. Two counter strikers of course. I had Machida ahead just. Good guillotine after a slip and ineffective top position effort. Machida needs more rounds to warm up as he is a slow starter.
