    • Damn 3 years without any reply, but i'm here! Lmao Yeah he did, after the fight he said and I quote: "That was truthfully an embarrassing fight for me,” Rickels told MMAjunkie. “I’m still gritty and not happy about it. It lit a fire under my ass. Sometimes you need that sort of thing to push you and motivate you and make you a better fighter. That was the fight that I needed and I feel like I’ll be able to showcase that in this bout. I really believe I’m better than him basically everywhere.” “It was worse (than any other loss) because I got broke,” Rickels said. “I got broke and I thought that I was going to break him in the fight. In my (expletive) head, that’s my game plan. Hindsight’s always 20/20. He is so good at the games, of making you not the fighter that you usually are. And I got mad. I flipped him off in the fight and stuff like that. I was not playing the game the way I should have played it. I played right into what he wanted me to do. That hurt a lot. It was worse than any of them. It was the worst, for sure.”

  • What I don't get is that no one respects mvp style. I've been watching him a long time and when you read comments like all he ever does is beats up cans. Eh what. His style makes it look easy when really it's not that easy. A lot of people don't understand the dedication that it takes outside the octagon to fight by both fighters. To then go into the octagon and fight in front of people and perform is absolutely an amazing achievement. Both fighters go in the octagon trying to literally take a living off the other person. For those that taste defeat it can be a long road back mentally and physically. So calling someone a can is ridiculous just because the other person is better is nonsensical

    @vegangsta5338@vegangsta53384 жыл бұрын
    • This comment reeks of a lack of understanding. His style is utterly disrespectful towards his opponents, it shows a level of overconfidence and lack of empathy that most people find hard to stomach. While the fighters are brave to step in the octagon, that doesn't mean they aren't relatively inoffensive strikers hence 'tomato cans'. Basically used to build up an impressive record on paper without facing any real obstacles, which is why everyone loved when douglas lima fucked him up.

    • FAIR COMMENT! I like your way of thinking bro. I read many comments saying "how embarassing is to stop the fight". Some people can't imagine how hard it is to compete as professional in any sport..let alone MMA..they'll never wonder how much dedication, discipline and sacrifice of your wellbeing it takes to make a professional athlete carreer. There's nothing to be embarassed about stop a fight! People who say so should be embarassed by the fact they'll never be brave enough to jump in a cage to fight Venon like Caveman did. I suggest people who thinks stop a fight is embarassing, to compete as amateur in any sport, so they can have a better understanding of what it takes to be a professional athlete.

It's not about heart, Rickes had NO chance, why keep letting someone embarrass you?? If you get your orbital broken and instantly lose sight, the smart thing to do is throw in the towel and seek immediate medical attention or risk going permanently blind. It sucks it ended that way, but it’s similar to when Cerrone got elbowed bad by Ferguson and then made the mistake of blowing out his nose, which completely closed his eye.
