Watch the BBC first on iPlayer 👉 bbc.in/iPlayer-Home Who’s to blame for WW1? Six of the main players cross swords in a disused warehouse spitting rhymes and insults. An unhinged Kaiser Bill, a supercilious George V and a cocky Gavrilo Princip all feature in WW1 Uncut’s take on one of the most complicated questions in modern history.
WW1 Uncut presents an original track that distills into under four minutes some of the individuals and their respective hang-ups, rivalries and egos that led to chaos and carnage in Europe. This is Origins: Rap Battle, WWI Uncut style.

    • Me thinks that's "Mongols". Not "Mongoms"? Too bad the Commies took over Russia, during that war , many historians say they were making the greatest strides , of any European powers to modernization, before it? There's a book on that subject, "How Russia blew a century of progress" , or something very close to that tittle. Serbs & Russians , faith, ethos, mindset, seem to bind them throughout the centuries.

Then when The Kaiser starts singing its skips to the german declaration of war on russia, While he's singing he says "And don't try to make france intervene" or something like that. we skip to the french declaration on austria and germany. Then when the UK walks in... yeah yeah you get the idea

  • Tsar Nicholas and Kaiser Wilhelm wrote letters to each other before the war where they addressed each other as "Nicky" and "Willy." George V, however, never corresponded with either Nicholas or Wilhelm. He felt so bad about not helping Nicholas II or Michael II from surviving the Russian Revolution, that he attempted to compensate by allowing his two sisters to escape to Britain. They both lived in exile until they died at the ages of ninety and ninety-five before the 1980's.

    • @@simonrooney2272 Thats so wrong. Willhelm didnt want the war, neither did he needed it. Willhelm only wanted to secure Germanys "place at the sun". After Serbia acepted the Austro-Hungarian ultimatum, to search themself for the murderer, Willhelm even wrote to Franz-Joseph that every reason for war was faiding away. After the WW broke out, they even made a postcard with him saying: "I did not want the war". That was apparently just propaganda, but Willhelm really had no reason to go to war.

    • Александр Сергеев George V/Nicholas II their mothers(Dagmar and Alexandra of Denmark) were sisters if I'm not mistaken , aside from Nicholas II's wife being a granddaughter of Queen Victoria.

      @joshualieberman1059@joshualieberman10593 жыл бұрын
    • @@joshualieberman1059 Yes, They were sisters. But George V was Victoria's grandson through Edward VII, and Kaiser Wilhelm II - through his Mother; Nicholas II didn't have a similar relationship with Victoria. Dagmar and Alexandra were daughters of Christian IX of Denmark and Louise of Hesse-Kassel. These both are even elder than Queen Victoria.

      @AlexanderSergeevRus@AlexanderSergeevRus3 жыл бұрын
    • @@joshualieberman1059 But if we talk not about blood relationship, but about "in-laws", then Nikolai could call Victoria a grandmother by right of marriage. Moreover, the gentleness of Nicholas strongly influenced the fact that she treated Him well enough, despite the general skepticism towards Russia throughout her reign (especially time of the reign of Nicholas the First).
