    • +Den Brodie yeah, I'm surprised he doesn't get the full props for his footwork from the commentators like GGG does. I feel like they don't give the big guys more credit in that department

  • Kov has improved tremendously, he's bouncing on his toes alot and gets excellent leverage on his punches. He was pretty flat footed before. This makes him a harder target and even deadlier offensive machine.

  • 'Sergey Kovalev' has a right hand cross shot ..... like a battering ram plus his right uppercut shot ..... like a sledge hammer, I think he is an overall very Gd boxer who is going to be Champion of the light Heaveyweight division for a long time but i would still like to see a 'Kovalev vs Golovkin' Bout at Catchweight. 😆

  • You can see the bond between kovalev and jackson. Kovalev also has excellent footwork and his boxing iq is extremely underrated. He was able to outthink outbox and outpunch hopkins. I like hopkins and respect his talents as a fight but he was simply outclassed by kovalev. Now all kovalev needs to do is kick stevensons paper champion ass and keep the belt! NUFF SAID!

  • If Kovalev hits Pascal hard and often early on he'll control the fight like he did against Bernard. But Pascal will open up more than Hopkins allowing for a mid-round KO. If Kovalev starts off on his heels Pascal will put together some combos and counters that'll make it hard for Sergey to get anything going.

  • Sergy is a tremendous fighter and its difficult to imagine him getting dominated by GGG like Sanchez the trainer said. If that is the case then GGG can pull off the same move like Adrian Broner and Shane Mosley did by skipping divisions and become a multi weigh world champion.

    @holyspiritfor@holyspiritfor8 жыл бұрын
    • +Brielle Smith He's definetely not given enough credit for the skills he shows in the ring and his power is almost unmatched but I believe GGG would beat him if he could carry his power up through the division as he is the more technically dominant of the two.

      @andrewreford8225@andrewreford82258 жыл бұрын
    • @andrew reford; Kovalev is all wrong for GGG, he is much faster, has a longer reach, hits harder and moves better on his feet. Kovalev by mid-rounds stoppage.

      @holyspiritfor@holyspiritfor8 жыл бұрын
    • Kovalev is the harder p4p puncher and IF he could carry that power up then he would be the more powerful fighter. GGG actually sparred Kovalev and Kovalev was very wary of his power, and that him just at middleweight. also the foot movement comment is totally false if you look at Golovkins feet he's always in a position to punch, I suggest you look at a video by Leewylie1 on it because it's truly impressive. There's no doubt the Kovalev is a great fighter and it would be a hugely competitive match, but if GGG carries his power up with him then I reckon he wins by points or late stoppage.

      @kelzswift1977@kelzswift19779 жыл бұрын
    • How will be land any power puches if he cant land a jab. Power is easily neutralized by footwork and good chin. I your almost 50 and fought fighters in the hall of fame. You never been knock out that tells you power is not a issue bhop worries about.

      @kelzswift1977@kelzswift19779 жыл бұрын
    • I picked that up too but I don't think his jab will win this fight. I think he's gonna have to hurt b-hop on the inside. He's going oh have to literally beat his body and arms up..

      @TeezyfolKKz@TeezyfolKKz9 жыл бұрын
    • They dont allow them to dictate the pace they are forced to fight a his pace. If you dont have the punching angles or the right distance your just not going to punch because your know you miss and get counter or get caught reaching. Also if you have him turning and resetting all the time he cant punch. That how footwork naturalize power.

      @kelzswift1977@kelzswift19779 жыл бұрын
    • He has not fought a hall of fame fighter in a while because he is the only one fighter of that caliber in his weight class.

    • strike at the heart

      @Sammael1984@Sammael19849 жыл бұрын
    • Several reasons: sometimes guys are very slick and it's hard to hit anything, which becomes frustrating in a fight. So to get your rhythm going you can start jabbing to the chest - it gives you something to hit and you can build your combinations off of that. Also, it's very useful when an opponent is coming in - ram that jab in his chest and the shock of the punch will disrupt him (it's also known as ''Stiff-Arming''). And finally, it builds up: it disrupts the opponents breathing and eventually he'll start feeling it, which might cause him to try to block it the next time you throw it, which leaves his head open. Did I answer your question?

  • Boxing v.s M.M.A As I too was a boxer & when I would be threatened by a black belt wanna be warning me how bad ass he might be, & telling me he's a third degree black belt, I'd only agree for to give him a 3rd degree black eye to go with it. L.O.L Seriously I was a boxer years ago & at age 59 I'd already been out of it for maybe 33+ years. Three years ago my doctor told me I had to lose 50 lbs or face death. I started training at an M.M.A club When I knew not how to defend myself below the belt. Needless to say they took opportunity to punish anyway to kick me low & dirty. till I'd quit for like 4 months & watched every kick fighter I could on KZhead & designed my own style. I named it how to defeat the feet with my technique. It's simple & effective. Just KZhead me Dave Overbey. I might be old & out of my prime time but still take my time to develop skill that will still make the kill. I fight smarter now not harder, I develop habits daily effectively & slowly for I know the power & speed will come naturally. fast pace only makes waste. A show off is a blow off! Over training is energy wasted, It's not the muscle hustle as it is the muscle memory & leverage win's the fight. I call my fight training bully proof tap n tag fight habits conforming defense reflexes into a reflex of habit as once you have it your stuck with it & is why you need to train slow as you go as so increase your speed because you won't have developed the bad habits & be stuck with them. Also take note: that over training & conditioning is worse than to under train. The power & speed is not the real muscle hustle & is more so the muscle memory & leverage that win's the fight My training is above all the best of natural ability but is still natural & not super natural. majical, mystical or need to muscle hustle it as is the common sense techniques & easy training to Bully Proof tap n tag fight training.. I'm Dave Overbey & not Rocky, it's probably best to just call me Punchy Thanks for watching & please place a thumbs up if you liked it.

  • 10:55 seriously what is wrong with his practically upside down left hook? Every other punch is perfect, but his left hook form looks all messed up. It's like he's trying so hard to land it just on the knuckles, he loses all power and speed with it. He is better off throwing it full speed and power, even if it slaps a bit, than turning it over that much and losing speed and power. That hook is so slow, it's barely going to land anyway. Why does he throw it like that, turning his wrists almost inside out?

    • Some of the jab hooks are nice though. When he "pushes" the hook out, it's less powerful, but at least the distance is shortened and it lands a lot. And it's still very powerful because it's Kovalev. But when he tries to throw a true left hook, ones that swings in an arc, he is turning it over so much that it seems to be losing speed, and that's why it's the one punch he rarely lands in fights. Why does he do that?

    • 11:44 that one is better. Would still like to see him keep the elbow low longer, to pick up leverage, speed, and power from his base, from his legs, before turning it over at the end. Even then he still turns it over too early so he can't really put his legs, hips, and core into it as much. JDJ should work on this with him...
