I wasn't born in the 80s but I can totally resonate with the vibe.
Resonance
you live up to your name
I was (1986) but this is a sort of retro-nostalgia for a time that never really existed. People forget how "brown" the 1980s actually was.
I wasn't born in the 80s either (a few years before the 1980s) but I get what you're saying and agree.
80s didn't sound like this at all you dingus
To the person reading this, don't let the challenges of life bring you down. You are strong and capable of overcoming any obstacle. Keep pushing forward, and good luck on your journey! 💪🏼🌟

Gotta love synthwave, the music of the future, made in the past, just for us all to enjoy

The city in this video has a population of 1,563,660,000 (1.5B) people: The video has 8,687 seconds. Each second a row of blocks appear. Each row has 30 blocks as far as we can see. Each block has 6 buildings in average. Each building is 4 floors in average. Each floor has 5 windows in each side on average. That means there are 5*5= 25 offices per floor in average. Assume 10 people work in each office (they're big enough). That means there are: 8,687 * 30 * 6 * 4 * 25 * 10 people. = 1,563,660,000. Which also means that if you wanted to depict all humans in a video like this, the video would have to be 12.3 hours long to show all (almost) 8B humans.
Bro ur dedication is next level
What a beautiful analysis :) Nice work dude!
what were substance were you on when you wrote that?

hi my friend follow my channel lofi retro 80s I really appreciate it
Not probalby, it's fact ☺️
This mix has been getting me through some intense work/study sessions. The visuals are also just completely unreal. So grateful to have found this!
Great mix, coincidentally use this as a wallpaper in school and got yelled at for it by a pessimistic teacher
The teacher didn’t pass the vibe check
Who in the right mind would find a problem in a badass and completely innocent wallpaper? Problems man. People just suck lol
Haters gonna hate (one of the whitest kids you know)

I accidentally listened to the whole playlist, while making homework and studying for my studies. Pretty cool synthwave to listen

this is really good. I tried to do homework with the lofi girl but some of the songs were too emotional and distracting to study with. This is some nice neutral lofi.

the lofi girl mixes are existential imo. I agree, TOO distracting! this is perfect.

You wake up at 10:30 pm. It's night. You drive to the bar on your neon Delorian. You hang out in the bar, neon lights everywhere. You spend some time chilling, talking to some people. It's now dawn. You step outside to see the sunrise. The sun is actually a really huge neon light bulb and you get reminded that you're living in a world where it's always night time and everything is illuminated by neon lights. Time to chill to some music from the past that's made in the future.
Bro that's kinda sad :(

@@forzanmusic nah man, I'm just making a story out of the background in the video. A world of eternal night and neon. If a world like that ever existed, I'd legit go there and spend a few good months just chilling before coming back to our world (i still need some sunlight too! lol)
Damn I also want this to happen to me at least once

i was going through a rough patch in life. i was starting to lose close friends and family and i felt suicidal for a while, as if there was no point of going on as things will just get worse. safe to say that when i discovered chillwave, all i could think of while listening to it was good memories, ones that would stay in my memory forever. whoever invented chillwave, please know that you have made me appreciate life and its beauty.
Kind of strange but i also discovered this style of music while being depressive, im a metal dude basically, and now i listen to it everyday, it's like a shelter for my mind.
Synthwave is more than just music. It's a celebration of life and spiritual things in dark and strange times.

love the subtle frequency modulation in some of the tracks, mimicking the slight warping sound you would hear from 80's tape decks :)

Beautifully put
The animation makes me feel restless, confronted with something too big and impactful to be able to fully comprehend its implications. It gives me a sense of lack of human interaction, unimportance of one's condition, isolation, quiet despair, insignificance of feelings, end. At times, the music sounds like dissonant remains of a previously alive era. Like a still functioning radio in the middle of a deserted, dead, warzone. It's like a post-apocalyptic landscape, not in the sense of physical annihilation, but as a void of humanity. Everyone in their flat, with their unchanging and meaningless routines. It's discomforting. The sun, too, is a symbol of entrapment. It was the herald of day, now it's a sun of the night, tyrant of the neverending dusk. A cruel soulless world.
agree... feels like those moments when you are going from A to B in your car at night and are lost in your thoughts, after something happened... or maybe you want something to happen. Just an observer of those identical windows, trying to grasp a glimpse of the ghostly people who dwell there but can never be seen. You are outside of everything.
Deep meaning , but look some strange when u read
How can it be a "cruel soulless world" when you are here with your beautiful overwhelming humanity leaking and spilling in the form of Needing a human touch!! 🧡

"Sun" was actually a song I used to listen to during the Social Distancing period. When I hear the song now, it gives me a sense of nostalgia, however I never want to go back to those times.. Makes me feel unhappy.
I think that's a common feeling. Different songs make me feel the same way about other periods in my life.
bad nostalgia moment

The first one is really epic and sounds pretty iconic.
It feels like I’m shopping in a mall
Radio Silence sounds like the first of its kind to make a chill jam out of the Duracell sound. The sound they still use today that sounds as futuristic now as it did then, comforting thought actually.
i literally listen to these exact songs every day and never knew this existed
I listen to this all the time while I am working or doing projects. It's just absolutely perfect.
These songs give you nostalgia over things that never happened.

Love the graphic video: I can imagine myself riding down those Avenues with a hover-vee to downtown with the sunset along the forefront while being bombarded with corporate adverts/signage. And 80's sunglasses.
This kind of music is way too underrated, culturally. Maybe in hundred years future composers and people will value their creators. Bach & Mozart were also underrated in their time.
Couldn't agree more!
Art always will be like that. van Gogh and others were poor bastards that knew no fame in their life. Society always have no time for artist until they die. It's in human nature.
Actually it's not that underrated. I like synthwave. And it's very popular among people nowadays. But there are more sophisticated artists from the 70s and 80s who created electronic masterpieces that very few people listen to nowadays. I feel like their music was very popular at that time. But today few people listen to them. Their style called the Berlin School of Music is the foundation for what electronic music is today. If you look at Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Michael Hoenig they created very complex electronic music with extraordinary compositions. In fact a lot of their music were live performances. Even in the 21th century there are underrated artists like Redshift, State Azure and Free System Projekt that have very few listeners compared to Synthwave music. And these people have decades of professional musical experience. Many synthwave artists are indie artists and only have a few years of experience.
The smooth transitions and mellow beats create the perfect late-night ambiance for unwinding.
Such a mesmerizing animated loop, it pairs so well with the Music.
Ikr thanks

there is something mystifying about seeing a sprawling metropolis and thinking of all the different lives and stories being lived out simultaneously.
I will be very glad if you listen to my music and tell me what you think about it🤯
I think there's a word for that in some languages--the realization that everyone else has lives as distinct as you do, and how weird that can feel.
