I'm 63...trust me, the 80's was just the last decade of everything being C O O L. Life was cool in the 60's the 70's and the 80's. The music of that time period was incredible to say the least. I am so fascinated with the 80s but I was born on 12/18/1990. I always ask my mom how was life in the 80s and she says it was the best! In 1987 she was 17 having the time of her life! We vibe so much talking about the music and movies. So these type of songs really get me remembering times I’ve never even been in! Enjoy the music everybody!

Hey, do you remember back then, when things were still okay. Life was not the best but it was good. You felt "normal". Maybe others were different but you didn't care. It was peaceful and just "okay". No total crazyness. No worldwide upheaval that seemed to shatter this little place where you were and grew up. That is just my feeling about the 80s
80's AIDS, Protect and Survive, Nuclear War threats at every turn. John Lennon shot dead. Falklands War, Brixton riots, IRA bombings, famine in Africa...80's was hardly 'okay' in my opinion. Great music, lousy world.

The problem of today's music is autotune, all commercial songs are the same, same bit, same pitch, same voices, same instruments, same lyrics ... not art but technology and marketing. There are still some excellent artists with great music unfortunately not the most played on radio, TV and YT.

We calculated what People like to hear and we make more of it, that's why all songs sound the same nowadays. It's same with commercials and graphic design etc.

this is not entirely accurate. Music, the best as it was and is, began in the 50s, evolved in the 60s, peaked in the 70s, exploded into epicness in the 80s, and fought it's final battle in the 90s. There were few survivors, but those who did became overrun when the rap genres emerged to cover the other genres that were hardly shadows of their old selves anymore anyway. The 80s will always be the best. This century is pathetic compared to the last one.

"Every Evening" is one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard in my life.
Yamaha DX7 synthesizer. With six FM operators and 16 voices of polyphony, the DX7 allowed players to replicate just about every instrument or effect imaginable, and the synthesiser quickly became one of the most successful of the decade.
